47th running of Montgomery's Jubilee Run. Come join the excitement of Montgomery’s longest standing competitive running event!  Montgomery Jubilee Runs are now set for May 16th, 2026  This iconic Montgomery event features competitive runs/walk on a 8K USATF certified course and the Peggy Lanier 2-Mile.  The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) has bestowed the designation of  Alabama 8K State Championship for this race! The River Region Runners' Club is proud to plan, organize, and host the 2026 Montgomery Jubilee Run in its 47th year.  This year's event will raise funds for the Alabama Sheriffs Youth Ranches.  The runs will be staged from historic Old Alabama Town.  The 8K running event attracts runners from all over the River Region, Alabama, and beyond!  State running records have been established at many of past Jubilee Runs and promises to add more to the record book.  In addition to the 8K, there will be a 2-mile run/walk in honor of Peggy McLendon Lanier.     Race I

Caribbean Qarnival Mental Health Awareness 5K & Mental Health Fair   Join us Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Big Spring Park in Downtown Huntsville, AL for a vibrant morning of movement, music, and mental wellness!  The 5K race kicks off at 8:00 AM, followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run at 9:00 AM. Registration Opens February 1st Huntsville’s first 24-hour running event will be held at Milton Frank Stadium. In traditional 24-hour format, participants may run continuously or take breaks as needed throughout the event. Runners are welcome to rest, refuel, socialize, or compete without stopping. In addition to the 24-hour event, race options will include a 6-hour, 12-hour, Marathon, 50K, and 50-mile race. The goal of this event is to provide an inclusive environment where runners of all abilities can come together to run fast, run slow, and run long. Aid stations will be available for all participants; however, runners are encouraged to bring their preferred nutrition and supplies. Personal tents and setups are welcome for those planning to stay for extended periods. The event will be chip timed. The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Spring Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama on May 23rd 2026. We will host our 4th annual 5k run/walk race, “Share The Road, Remembering Raymond Butler” on May 30, 2026 in Eclectic, AL. Race starts promptly at 7:45 a.m. cdt. Start/Finish in Front of Elmore County High School.  Raymond was an avid cyclist, runner, canoeist, and overall athlete even at 74 years of age. He was riding his bike home from work on August 29, 2022 when 3/10 of a mile from his home he was struck by a car and succumbed to his massive internal injuries the next day. Come help us remember Raymond and raise awareness that our roads are meant to be shared. Cyclists have the same legal right as a vehicle to use the roadway therefore drivers need to watch for them and pass with care. Proceeds from the event will once again be used to purchase Share The Road signs to be added to the forty signs that were purchased with funds from our previous races.  Awards: Overall male/female finishers AND 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male/female finishers in each group: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30

The Montgomery Regional Airport is excited to host its second annual Runway 5K. The MGM Runway 5K is on a closed course located on the airfield with roughly four miles of runway. Racers will run on Taxiway Bravo, Delta, Echo, and Runway 3-21 south, which are all located beside our active Runway 3-21. Runners will have a chance to run beside aircraft and get a close-up view of aircraft landing and taking off. The uniqueness of this event allows runners to experience the airport grounds, amazing views of the MGM terminal and participate in a 5K race like no other! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Children 5 and under free with registered adult. The race will be limited to the first 500 participants. Early registration is encouraged! Registered participants will be able to run or walk the runway.

Welcome to the Greenway Grand Prix! The Cornerstone Fitness & Wellness Peach Run will begin at Cornerstone and  follow a route through downtown Clanton.    The race will include a 1 mile fun run/walk, 5K and 10 K  event.  Overall male & female 5k/10k winners receive a $100 prize! Cost is $20 for the 1 mile  increasing to $25 after May 31st. $35 for the 5k increasing to $40 after May 31st. $40 for the 10k increasing to $45 after May 31st.

Don’t let your race shoes collect dust this summer. Come out and better your 5k and brunch game with the Sunrise Social Club at the River Region Runners sponsored (R3) Wildcat Summer Cup in downtown MGM. Every second Sunday this summer at 7AM we’ll host a 5k at a unique location. Come for the race, stay for the BYOB potluck brunch. One payment of $20 buys you a bib for the entire series. That’s three 5ks for $20! The course will be marked and hand timed and very unofficial. Runners will be responsible for keeping their bibs throughout the summer and bringing them to race day. Pickup will be available each race day and sign up will continue for the summer. Endless Summer running fest, and lake party! Description Between June 20, 8AM and June 21, 8PM you get 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, or 36 hours to clock as many 1 mile loops around Catfish Lake as you can. The loop is a dirt / gravel road with a brief grass section, and about 120 feet of elevation change. This is THE trail race for road runners. At the start / finish you can expect a non-stop party with good food, good music, and summer vibes. Cool off in the lake, or the misting tent, hit the slip 'n' slide, or hang by the overlook. With a beautiful summit lake on one side, and a beautiful mountain view on the other, this is sure to be the summer days you always hoped for. If you don't want to run, get a Hang Pass to enjoy everything the runners get, but the pain (basically just food, and drinks). The Team Rocket Tri Club and Piedmont Recreation Association invite you to the 12th annual Pesky Piranha youth triathlon. The distances are accessible to both beginners doing something new and to experienced youth athletes who want to go as fast as they can! “Dee” Pogue Foundation (DPF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a premier youth led/youth driven mentorship program. DPF has a 100% high school to college transition rate (in other words, every high school student who has completed the program has entered college)!  Our organization focuses on S.T.E.M. education and is composed of young African American boys, ages 8-12. The JFS/MCTS Alumni Association is a 501c3 organization.  The Association promotes a meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas between the J. F. Shields High School and its Alumni. These include providing information about the school to alumni, encouraging and supporting educational relationships with alumni, sponsoring a variety of activities of interest to alumni and providing alumni with opportunities for service at J. F. Shields.  Through this walk, we seek to raise funds for the JFS/MCTS Alumni Association to be able to provide scholarships to graduating Seniors of J.F. Shields High School.  We seek to bring together individuals and businesses to benefit the school and community as a whole.  This walk will bring back alumni to our town of Beatrice, AL and give us a chance to once again walk through our beautiful town that we call home.  All of the proceeds from this 5K will go towards supporting the scholarship program.
