3M Decatur is proud to host its 12th Annual Turkey Trot of Morgan County on Thanksgiving morning in Downtown Decatur! People of all ages are encouraged to participate in the 5K event, the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk! This event benefits the United Way of Morgan County, and all proceeds will go to this organization. We hope you'll come out on Thanksgiving morning to visit with friends and family in town for the holiday, burn some calories to make some room for the Thanksgiving feast, and support an organization making a difference in our community! Registration costs are $30 for the 5K event, $25 for the 1-mile event.  All prices will increase by $5 on November 3, 2025. The 5K Run and begin at 8 AM, and the One Mile Fun Run begins at 9 AM.T-shirt/Packet pick up will be on Wednesday, Nov. 25th, at the Cross Eyed Owl Brewery from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm, and Thursday, Nov. 26th, before the race from 6:45 am to 7:45 am at First Baptist Church. Restrooms will be available at First Baptist Church.

Race Information Decatur's first ever marathon, and on a micro-marathon course!  We are excited to host the first full distance marathon on a course that is fast and USATF certified.  We will also host a 10K and 5K event on the same day on flat, fast race courses.  All net proceeds from this event go to the Decatur High School Track and Field team to support their upcoming race season. The marathon will be a loop and athletes will run six loops of the course that runs through Point Mallard Park.  Course map and USATF Certification are on the website at the course map link below.  There will be a 6 hour time limit with a cutoff occurring for anyone that is not through the halfway by the 3 hour mark, or 11 AM.   Awards Age group and overall awards will be available for the marathon, 10K and 5K, and the USATF certification and the course meeting B.A.A. standards will allow athletes to qualify for Boston, Chicago or New York Marathons.  All marathon finishers will receive a finishers m

“The River City”, Decatur, Alabama, hosts a fabulous running/biking trail and some of the nicest runners you’ll ever meet. Join us for our 11th annual Carnival Frolic 13.1-mile race taking you through our acclaimed historic districts, along the Tennessee River, and through Point Mallard Park. Is a shorter distance more your thing? Then grab some friends and run the half marathon relay option! You can have up to 4 relay members per team. And back for 2027 we will be offering a individual 5K Run! The 5K participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and Finisher surprise! Also, at the finish line there will be Mardi Gras donuts, Gatorade and Pepsi products for our 5K participants! The 5K race will start at 7:15am and run out and back on the same Frolic course! All Frolic 13.1 individual participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and Finishers Medal. Relay Team Participants receive a race shirt, carnival swag and team Finisher Medals! . Cash (yes, cold hard cash) and prizes will be awarded to the overall winners of the HALF MARATHON. We will also present 10 year age group winners with a little something extra. Additionally, all finishers of the Frolic will be treated to a post race celebration at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center with beignets, a sampling of red beans and rice and ONE FREE mimosa or cold beer! After that date we will offer in-person LATE REGISTRATION at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center up to CARNIVAL WEEKEND, Friday - February 5th from 10:30am to 6pm and pre-race Saturday, February 6th from 6am - 6:45am at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. However, we cannot guarantee that race shirts and sizes will be available for LATE REGISTRANTS. PACKET PICK-UP will be available at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center on Friday - February 5th from 10:30am to 6pm and pre-race Saturday, February 6th from 6am - 6:45am. FINISHING TIME CUT-OFF at the request of the Decatur Police Department there will be a 3:30 time limit for the HALF MARATHON.

This is a 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit First Priority / Clothe Our Kids campus ministries and students in Morgan, Lawrence, and Cullman counties. To receive a free race T-shirt, you must register by Monday, March 30th, 2026. The 5K will start at 8:00am at Decatur Baptist Church, 2527 Danville Rd SW. The 1 Mile Fun run will start at 8:40am.  At every turn of the First Priority run you will have volunteers cheering you on.  ----- Race Packet Pick Up will be at Decatur Baptist Church, 2527 Danville Rd SW from 4-6pm on April 10th 2026. Join us for the Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard Park on July 11th, 2026 at 7:00 AM.  This year will launch a new era for Wet Dog as it becomes a Team Rocket Tri Club managed race.  Long time Race Director Leah Brown will still be very involved as we work together to make Wet Dog the very best open water sprint triathlon in North Alabama.  Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard is a 400 meter open water swim, followed by a 15k bike ride and a 5k run along the beautiful (and FLAT) banks of the Tennessee River at Decatur, Alabama. Wet Dog is a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater.  Wet Dog at Point Mallard is the second of three races that make up the Summer Sprint Series.  Heel & Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon are the remaining event in the series.  Each participant who finishes will receive a series water bottle at no extra charge.  Race photos will be by We Run Race Photography. We are back to our original location at Point Mallard Park!  Brothers for Life exists to support local firefighters, police officers, EMS professionals, and dispatchers. Please join us as we support these brave men and women! Please sign up for our 5k race, 5k ruck, or our 1 mile fun run. RUCK DIVISION: male weight is 30lbs and female is 20lbs.  Early registration ends July 28th. Everyone that registers early gets a shirt! Packet pickup will be Friday night at Cross Eyed Owl Brewery on Friday August 7th from 5-7PM at 105 1st Ave NE, Decatur, AL 35601.
