COURSE UPDATE:The start and finish of all races will be in the Water Park west parking lot at the Archery area like it was in 2024.  10k Course map 5k Course map For over three decades, the River City Run has been one of North Alabama’s most anticipated Spring RRCA runs. We are proud to partner with The Committee on Church Cooperation as our Charity Sponsor. $800 in Prize Money!!  10k male/female: 1st $125, 2nd $100, 3rd $75, Master $50, Grand Master $50. Finishers Medals for 10k and 5k. Fun Run awards for the kids. Runners can participate in the 5K, 10K, 5k/10K Double or the all ages Fun Run. The 10K and 5K courses are flat and fast. The first 3.5 miles of the 10K are run through quiet residential streets. The finish of the 10K and the entire 5K is run on the park and golf course perimeter road which runs along the beautiful Tennessee River. The 5K course is an out-and-back and the 10K is a loop. The Fun Run is a loop of the paved perimeter trail around the Spirit of America field. 5k

This is a 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run to benefit First Priority / Clothe Our Kids campus ministries and students in Morgan, Lawrence, and Cullman counties. To receive a free race T-shirt, you must register by Monday, March 30th, 2026. The 5K will start at 8:00am at Decatur Baptist Church, 2527 Danville Rd SW. The 1 Mile Fun run will start at 8:40am.  At every turn of the First Priority run you will have volunteers cheering you on.  ----- Race Packet Pick Up will be at Decatur Baptist Church, 2527 Danville Rd SW from 4-6pm on April 10th 2026. At that time, you will get your bibs, t-shirts, and your runner bags filled with goodies from our incredible sponsors.

The Decatur Running Club is offering a Beginning Running Program starting Tuesday April 14th.  This is a FREE organized 8-week program targeting new (or returning after a long break) runners. DRC mentors can teach new runners how to build safely and slowly, and can outline a goal, such as finishing a 5K. The program will meet on Tuesday evenings at Fairview Park, Thursday evenings at Nelson Park, and Saturday mornings at Rock Springs Conservation Area.  You do not have to attend every run, but we encourage you to try to do two a week.  A Facebook group page will be the primary means of communication throughout the program, with reminders of location, what to expect, and what to bring, for example, water bottle, cooling towel, etc. Graduation race will be the Rock Springs Ramble on June 6th at the Rock Springs Conservation Area located at 3939 Nearing Ln Decatur. Started 18 years ago, our Beat the Street for Little Feet Race features a 5K, one-mile Fun Run, and Tot Trot. Everyone in the family can participate! Decatur Celtic Festival is hosting its first annual 5k! Come experience all that the Celtic Festival has to offer and test your endurance. This family, friendly event is all about having fun, supporting veterans, and bringing the community together. Whether you walk, jog, skip, or stroll, we’ll cross the “finish line” with a smile – and help raise funds for programs that support veterans and their families through the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Home and local initiatives.    Come for the laughs, stay for the camaraderie, food, and festivities. The annual Dash at Dawn 5k & Fun Run is officially back, and we want YOU on the starting line! Whether you’re chasing a personal best or just looking for a morning run with a mission, this is the race to be at! ☀️🏃‍♀️ Dash at Dawn was inspired by the 20-year legacy of our inaugural PE teacher, Coach Dawn. She saw running not just as a sport, but as an equalizer that bridges cultures and backgrounds in our community. We lace up to celebrate that spirit of inclusion! All proceeds from the race benefit International Community School. ICS is the only IB school in Georgia designed to educate refugee, immigrant, and local students together in a community dedicated to mutual learning. The Decatur Running Club is sponsoring a timed 5k beginning at 8 a.m. on June 6th and a Kid's Ramble at 7:30 a.m. ages 10 and under.   The start/finish will take place at the east parking lot on the trail.  The paved course is an out and back.  Water station will be available along the course.   Proceeds are used to fund club events as well as supporting youth running programs in the Decatur area.   This race will be hand timed (NO BIB) by the Decatur Running Club. All participants receive a finisher medal and hand painted rock.  Age group awards for the 5K are 10 and under, then 5 year increments up to 75 and over.   Race T-shirts are available for additional purchase.  50/50 fabric. Join us for the Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard Park on July 11th, 2026 at 7:00 AM.  This year will launch a new era for Wet Dog as it becomes a Team Rocket Tri Club managed race.  Long time Race Director Leah Brown will still be very involved as we work together to make Wet Dog the very best open water sprint triathlon in North Alabama.  Wet Dog Triathlon at Point Mallard is a 400 meter open water swim, followed by a 15k bike ride and a 5k run along the beautiful (and FLAT) banks of the Tennessee River at Decatur, Alabama. Wet Dog is a fundraiser for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and Princess Theater.  Wet Dog at Point Mallard is the second of three races that make up the Summer Sprint Series.  Heel & Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon are the remaining event in the series.  Each participant who finishes will receive a series water bottle at no extra charge.  Race photos will be by We Run Race Photography. We are back to our original location at Point Mallard Park!  Brothers for Life exists to support local firefighters, police officers, EMS professionals, and dispatchers. The DRC Shoreline Classic is the premier Road Race in downstate Illinois. This event draws runners and spectators from across the state of Illinois. The race provides both a competitive and recreational event for athletes while promoting the value of living a healthy lifestyle. Please join DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston for the 12th Annual Love Run 5K, in commemoration of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. All proceeds benefit the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence.  This in-person event is an official Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Each registered runner or walker will receive a signature long-sleeved shirt and race medal. In-person bib and t-shirt pickup will take place on Friday, February 26th, 2027, from 10:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at Big Peach Running Co.
