This year's race will be held in the Recreational and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) at The Ohio State University on Sunday, April 19th, 2026. This will count as a USAT Collegiate Nationals qualifier.  An indoor triathlon is based on time rather than distance, allowing all levels of ability the opportunity to compete! There will be a 10 minute swim in the indoor competition pool. Then there is a 15 minute transition that allows you to change into biking clothes/get situated at your stationary bike. The stationary bike ride will last 20 minutes. A 5 minute transition is then given to allow you enough time to get to the track. Concluding the race is a 15 minute run on our indoor track. Get ready for the 3rd Annual Kicks for Kids 5K presented by The Running Outreach Initiative and Buckeyes for Public Health! Taking place at The Ohio State University's Recreational and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), the Kicks for Kids 5K will take you up and around the university's beautiful Oval, finishing in the shadow of historic Ohio Stadium. The annual 5K run/1 mile walk benefits Stop the Suffering, a 501 (c)(3) based in Columbus, Ohio that saves animals from shelters and other situations in which their lives might be at risk. STS adopts out about 500 dogs a year, transports around 4,000 cats and dogs from rural shelters and puppy mills, to rescue organizations. STS also sponsors the vet care, boarding expenses and other costs when needed to help save an animal's life. Additionally, STS has a program that helps with many local municipalities spay and neuter programs in order to help control the pet population.   This is a rain or shine event. In the instance of severe weather it would be up to the race director to call it for the safety of all participants, volunteers, and vendors.

McConnell 5K Course Records Male: James Zeuch  15:37.60 (2017)Female: Julia Harris  18:35.20 (2025) The 15th Annual McConnell 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Walk fundraiser, benefiting the OhioHealth Foundation, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, on the McConnell Heart Health Center campus. This race takes place on a combination of paved road surfaces and a beautiful, partially-wooded looped trail on the OhioHealth McConnell Heart Health Center property. The 5K course is mostly flat, with one or two hills. The 1-Mile Walk event will start at 8:30am followed by the 5K Walk/Run event at 9:00am. The first half of the 5K course is on roads and a loop of the front parking lot, and the second half on the beautiful trail around the McConnell campus. The wooded trail has rolling hills and one challenging incline.

As a participant, you will be able to share/post a picture of yourself and/or a picture of your favorite spot to visit. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. This year, we are bringing back an option for a 5-mile run (well, almost, at 4.9 miles).  There will still be the same 5K and 1-mile courses everyone has enjoyed the last few years.  The courses race through the crowd filled and fast streets of Upper Arlington providing a great experience for serious and casual runners alike. Steps for Sarcoma is returning for its 17th year on Sunday, September 20, 2026 and we can’t wait to see you there!  Last year, the amazing Steps community donated over $147,000 to advance the interdisciplinary sarcoma research program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), contributing to a total of more than $2.2 million so far. You can help make 2026 our best year yet by joining us for this easy‑paced, dog‑friendly walk around The Lawn at CAS.
