A Time 2 Read Storybook 5K and Fun Run

Huntsville, TX
A Time 2 Read is having its 7th annual Storybook Character 5K and Family Fun Run. What a GREAT reason to come run with us! Runners may choose the 5K or the 1 Mile Fun Run. Everyone will get a T-shirt and those who cross the finish line will receive a FINISHER medal! Runners who choose to dress as their favorite storybook character may win a prize if picked by our judges. Prize for Best Family Prize for Best AdultPrize for Best ChildPrize for Best Dog (New this year) This race will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 in Huntsville, TX with activities beginning at 7:30 am. We will begin and end in the parking lot of University Heights Baptist Church. (See race route below.) ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. WHY WE RUN: SAVE A CHILD. SAVE A FAMILY. SAVE A CITY. A Time 2 Read is a literacy program that desires to impact the lives of children, teachers, families, and the communities in which they live by enhancing the quality of public education and increasing reading proficiency by 3rd and 4th grades. AT2R volunteers give one hour each week to coach two 1st or 2nd grade students, thirty minutes each, in a research-based literacy program. Ideally, each student in the program participates twice per week, receiving a full hour of coaching between their two volunteers. Giving students one hour of one-on-one time each week is impossible for teachers with a classroom full, so what we train our volunteers to do not only strengthens students’ reading levels but also serves teachers, those on the front lines day after day. For the 2025-2026 school year, A Time 2 Read: -->had over 145 coaches -->coached 180 1st & 2nd grade students in HISD -->saw 2nd grade students gain an average of 346 sight words, meaning they gained almost 3 1/2 grade levels of sight words. The wellbeing of the entire Huntsville community depends upon a successful and high achieving school system. A Time 2 Read is becoming an integral part of these efforts by providing caring volunteers who not only help students build confidence and feel successful but also encourage teachers that their community is behind them. We tutor students, not just to invest in their reading skills but to impact them for life. These consistent weekly sessions with the same adults provide them with encouragement and support that makes them feel valued and empowered. Educator Rita Pierson believed, “Every child deserves a champion–an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” AT2R volunteers are those champions who make powerful and lasting connections. The A Time 2 Read Storybook 5K & Fun Run is the organization’s largest fundraiser every year. The sponsorships, donations, and participant fees help us continue to serve students, teachers, and families in Huntsville, fulfilling our motto: SAVE A CHILD, SAVE A FAMILY, SAVE A CITY. ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................. Gobbler 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M at Beaumont, TX (45)

Beaumont, TX
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.

2026 Harper Grace Memorial 5K Run/Walk

Winchendon, MA
Join us for the Harper Grace Memorial 5K Run/Walk, a meaningful annual community tradition that brings people together in remembrance, support, and giving back. Each year, runners, walkers, families, and friends gather to remember Harper Grace Lawler and support the Harper Grace Memorial Scholarship Fund, established by Amanda and Pete Lawler. Proceeds from the event provide scholarships to local medical professionals seeking career advancement, helping them continue their education, grow in their profession, and strengthen the care they provide to others in our community. What began as a way to keep Harper's memory alive has grown into something truly meaningful, an opportunity to turn remembrance into hope, opportunity, and a lasting impact on the lives of others. This 5K is about more than crossing a finish line. It is about the people who show up, the community that comes together, and the difference we can make when we choose to support one another. Every participant becomes part of a tradition that carries Harper's legacy forward while helping invest in the future of local healthcare professionals. Whether you run, walk, participate with friends and family, or join us simply because you believe in the cause, your presence matters. Come share the morning with us, celebrate community, and help make a difference, one step at a time. Donations are GLADLY ACCEPTED! Thank you for supporting Catholic schools. The Saint James XC program is a leader in grade school cross-country in the state of New Jersey. We promote safe and healthy outdoor activity that helps children become better athletes and even better people. The Almost Winter Classic was created in 2020 because so many athletes had a limited opportunity to access indoor sports during the COVID-19 pandemic. When XC ended, there was no place for many athletes to turn for winter sports. In response, the SJS XC Community created a 5K club for its athletes and parents who wanted to participate. Since 5K race options were limited, we decided to create an event that would give runners the opportunity to compete in a friendly way and help to build our running community. Saint James School was founded in 1965 and educates children Pre-K to 8th Grade. Shirts will be available for pickup at PVP on Race Day.

Veterans Day 5K, 10K & Ruck

Midland, TX
Honor the past. Prepare for what comes next. Join us Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Midland College campuses for the Veterans Day 5K, 10K, 5K Ruck and Kids 1K. This year's event carries special significance as America celebrates 250 years of independence. For 250 years, America's freedom has been preserved because generations of men and women voluntarily accepted the responsibility to serve, protect and defend it. Veterans Day gives us the opportunity not only to remember that sacrifice, but to ask what responsibility freedom places on the rest of us. The standard is not simply knowledge. It is readiness—the discipline to recognize what is required, respond when called, and execute with purpose. That is part of what this morning represents. We run. We walk. We ruck. We gather. We serve. We practice health, resilience, discipline and community because freedom and independence are not merely ideas to understand—they are responsibilities to exercise. As America enters its next 250 years, we are preparing ourselves and those around us to serve, protect and preserve freedom for another 250 years. Come run beside our veterans, families, neighbors and community. USA 250 Veterans Helping Veterans and Their Families
