Race with Grace 5K AND 10K

Rochester, NY
The Race with Grace 10K Why RwG 3.0?The Race with Grace (RwG) 10K was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the participation of several men in the Spencerport Canal Days races during the mid-1980’s. It had a two-fold purpose, the more important one being a community outreach. Secondarily, it was play on the current Pastor’s name, George Grace, who was a runner. In our inaugural year we had 185 registrants and 171 finishers. Our attendance peaked in 2015 when we celebrated our silver anniversary race with 1245 registrants and 1121 finishers. Over the race’s 31-year existence, a total of approximately 5,000 individuals have participated. Five men remain who have finished every single RwG and ran virtually in 2020. They are Stan Cipira, Bob Dyjak, Dave O’Leary, Ric Perry and Doug Ralph. The race established itself as one of the best races in western NY. It has consistently been named one of NY’s finest races by New England Runner magazine. In addition, it has been recognized as one of the cornerstone races in the Rochester Runner of the Year series. All proceeds, once race expenses are deducted, go to support C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. With the current race director stepping down due to work and family obligations, no clear choice for a successor, the race’s future appeared to be at crossroads. Thankfully, as the “door” on the race was quickly closing, the Rochester Running Company and Lakeshore Community Church agreed to manage and host this year’s race. About Lakeshore Community Church: Founded in 1995 by Vince and Sue DiPaola, Lakeshore Community Church exists to help people discover and develop a growing relationship with Jesus. It’s a place where you can be real, strengthen your relationships, and make an impact in our world. Pie Gobbler 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Winston-Salem, NC (48TR)

Winston-Salem, NC
US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. Please plan for the weather, bring anything you may want between laps, and check in with race staff if you need help. View Race Course, Results, and Race Information on the US Road Running race page.

You go deep, then do the loop. Signs and volunteers guide the way. Pie Gobbler 5K, 10K & 13.1M at Harrisburg, PA (48TR)

Harrisburg, PA

Same trail. Weight on your back. Rucking is covering ground with a loaded pack. Same course as the half marathon, same start, same finish line, same cutoff. The only difference is what you are carrying and who you are racing. Ruckers are scored as their own division with their own results and their own awards. You are not competing against the runners and they are not competing against you. Minimum pack weight 20 lb · 30 lb 20 lb if you weigh under 150 lb. 30 lb if you weigh 150 lb or over. The rules Weigh in before the start. Bring your pack to the start area at least 30 minutes before your wave. We weigh it, we tag it, you go.Water does not count. Your hydration, food, phone and layers are on top of the minimum. The weight is dry weight.Any weight is fine. Ruck plates, bricks, sand, books, dumbbells. It has to be secure and it has to stay in the pack for the whole course. You finish with what you started with. Weight is checked again at the finish. Anything under the minimum moves you out of the ruck division.Carry it yourself. No handing your pack off, no dragging, no wheels.Run, walk, or anything between. There is no rule about how you move, only about what you carry.Rucking counts toward your Run the River mileage exactly the same as running. Thirteen point one miles is thirteen point one miles. First time rucking? A loaded pack on a trail is harder than the same distance on your feet, and most people go out too quick. A few things that help: Train with the weight before race day. Even two or three loaded walks makes a difference to your shoulders.Get the load high and tight against your back. Weight that sits low and swings will wreck you by mile six.Wear the socks and shoes you have already tested. Rucking changes how your feet hit the ground.Pack the weight so it cannot shift. Movement inside the pack is the most common reason people stop. Same trail. Same finish line. Considerably more of it on your back.
