The Rhode Island Grand Prix is an annual road racing series for Rhode Island-based runners and running clubs. Over the course of several races, runners compete as both individuals and teams to win awards and bragging rights at the end of the year. The BRMS Coyote Chase is an annual 5k and 1 mile fun run fundraiser and community event for the students of Broad Rock Middle School! This is our 11th annual race and hope its the biggest race yet! Help support your local schools. Awards: 5K Fastest Team (Min. 5 Athletes per team), 1-10, 11-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 50+ Male and Female for each age group. Following the incredible success of last year, we are thrilled to announce the 3rd year of The Charlie Holder Sr. Memorial Charity Race featuring the annual 5k run/fun walk and adding a 10K option. This run will begin at 7:30am on Saturday, May 9th. One step at a time we are working together to help support our community by raising money for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Community Center and the Newport County YMCA Summer Scholarship Fund. Last year the race raised $10,000 for each organization - this year our goal is $15,000!   Thanks for helping us remember a great guy who inspired many -  Charlie Holder Sr.   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   "I FOUGHT THE FIGHT, I FINISHED THE RACE, I KEPT THE FAITH."   This was the mantra of a Newport Legend, Charlie Holder Sr.   Charlie was born and raised in the Park Holm district of Newport. Following the incredible success of last year, we are thrilled to announce the 3rd year of The Charlie Holder Sr. Memorial Charity Race featuring the annual 5k run/fun walk and adding a 10K option. This run will begin at 7:30am on Saturday, May 9th. One step at a time we are working together to help support our community by raising money for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Community Center and the Newport County YMCA Summer Scholarship Fund. Last year the race raised $10,000 for each organization - this year our goal is $15,000!   Thanks for helping us remember a great guy who inspired many -  Charlie Holder Sr.   -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   "I FOUGHT THE FIGHT, I FINISHED THE RACE, I KEPT THE FAITH."   This was the mantra of a Newport Legend, Charlie Holder Sr.   Charlie was born and raised in the Park Holm district of Newport. It was here that he made life long friends and first learned his love for sports.

Course Tough Tiger is an adventure-based course, geared toward kindergarten through 5th grade students and their families; however, people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. There are two course options: a 1.5 mile loop through the neighborhood streets and nearby woods, and a shorter adaptive course that stays on neighborhood streets and sidewalks, making it more accessible. The shorter course also has more adaptive features to cater to a range of abilities. Both courses start and end at Hampden Meadows School. Participants can choose, on the day, to complete the longer or shorter course (or both). There is no need to indicate a preference when registering. In Memory of Jim Varin to benefit The RI Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation Jim Varin was a dedicated firefighter in the city of Providence for 31 years.  He always expressed how extremely thankful he was to have a job that he loved so much. In January of 2022, Jim’s life as he knew it completely changed. He was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and fatal form of brain cancer, at the young age of 52. Due to this diagnosis, Jim would never be able to return to his fire station and perform the job he loved. Before his passing, just 13 months later, he talked about wanting to help others who may be affected by Glioblastoma down the road. I assured him that his death would not be in vain and that we would make sure some good came from him being taken from us too soon by such a relentless cancer. The Blazin’ Battle Against Brain Cancer 5k/10k is not only a way to keep Jim’s memory alive and positively channel the pain so many of us feel in his absence, but most importantly it will

The John Martins Foundation and the RI Burn Foundation have come together to raise funds for burn survivors! We are raising money for advanced laser equipment to be purchased for the burn unit at Rhode Island Hospital! This equipment costs over $250,000 and its use is to help those who suffered severe burn damage, get the reconstructive surgery they need to help reduce the amount of scar tissue from their injuries. All funds raised will go towards funding this equipment! Registration opens at 8:30am and 5k race will start at 10:00am and 1k race will start 5 minutes after. There will be the option to purchase a race day T-shirt when registering for an additional fee. Please Note: The 5k/1k Race will be happening rain or shine. Because of the logistics of planning for this race, we cannot offer refunds for any reason. In the event that weather is severe enough to create an unsafe environment for participants, organizers will cancel the event with no refunds issued.

Choose from either the half marathon or 5K, which offer some of the best views in Rhode Island, including scenic views of Narragansett Bay and the iconic Providence skyline along the East Bay Bike Path. Both USATF-certified courses conveniently start and finish at Pierce Memorial Stadium in East Providence, RI. The Rhode Island Half Marathon will be capped at 2,000 participants.
