The Red Wolf Sanctuary is once again hosting it's 5K and 10K Trail Walk/Run, Across their beautiful, 452 acre facility in Rising Sun, Indiana. The event will be timed but recreational runners and walkers are welcome. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the sanctuary and its endeavors to preserve native North American wildlife through environmental education and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. The 5K is a beautiful course, the first couple of miles take you along the waterways, through wetlands and fields and the final mile takes you down the trail passed the large wildlife enclosures. If runners choose to take on the challenge and continue with the 10K they will at one point run up an over 240 feet in elevation in just under a mile. The Country Lake 5K run, walk & jog event was inspired out a of a desire to share the beauty and resources of Country Lake Christian Retreat with our neighbors and our community. In many ways, the sprawling 200 acre property is a hidden gem to those who live the closest to it so we wanted to carve out one special day each year to open our doors and our grounds to our friends, family, and community. We love giving back to the community and have been fortunate to donate a portion of the proceeds each year to support our local schools, clubs and athletic programs. Fall is arguably the most beautiful time of year at Country Lake with the fall colors and breathtaking scenery so beginning this amazing day with a 5K Race is a wonderful way to kick it off. Historically, the Country Lake 5K has been 75 percent rugged trail and 25 percent road race. We listened to our racers and have made an adjustment to the course to incorporate more roadway and less rugged trail. Run the Monon Indy Runners and Walkers - Long Run & Picnic Sheridan/Carmel to Broad Ripple Version Join us for the most fun on a long run, "Run the Monon"! Continuing our "rotation" between Downtown versions and exploring the northernmost section from Sheridan - this year we'll be starting in Sheridan! We'll start at Marott Park in Broad Ripple (park at Park Tudor School across College Ave), load up buses in that parking lot and bus up to our Starts = at Biddle Memorial Park in Sheridan for the 20-milers or the Lowes on 146th/Carmel for the 12-milers, then Run/Walk back down to Marott Park. There are two available distances: 20 miles and 12 miles. Note: This is NOT a race - it is untimed and no traffic restrictions are in place - but rather a unique chance to get in a long training run with a group of friends and enjoy a fun route. The run will start at approximately 8:00 am, where we will run a bit north to be sure to hit 20 miles. 12-milers will be bused to the Lowes at 146th in Carmel. We will walk and run in solidarity with all the market women and peasant farmers in Limonade who, like Polidor, are struggling to become literate. At Carnival time, participants in our literacy program undertake a cross country walk. They celebrate literacy, recruit more learners, and dance and sing through rural communities. Ours will be a companion event to help raise funds for basic class supplies and teacher stipends. ALFA, an extensive adult literacy program, is a project of Friends of Haiti at St. Bartholomew Parish, in partnership with the parishes of St. Anne & St. Isidore in Limonade. This year, we celebrate 22 years of literacy in Limonade Haiti and beyond.

The Historic Irvington Halloween Festival's kids' race! Join us for a 1/8 mile run around Irving Circle Park, just south of the Halloween Festival Street Fair Kids Zone. All races will kick off from South Audubon Road just north of the park. We will be running 5 different heats this year: Ages 10-12 Ages 7-9 Ages 5-6 Ages 3-4 Ages 2 and under We will start lining up the first wave around 11:25, and kick off at 11:30. We will begin lining up the next wave to start once the majority of the previous wave is finished. We will start the next wave once the previous wave has completely finished. The courses are all on the fantastic, scenic and paved Pumpkinvine trail which is largely ensconced by old trees. All distances are out and back so there is absolutely NO WAY to miss a turn, get lost or lose your mates! Just get into your zone, forget about your cares and count down the miles! You will always have people around you to encourage you and get you to the finish line! The path is completely protected from traffic, except at a few cross roads where we will have police and volunteers to keep you safe. There are also several porta potties along the way, which is always nice- especially on the longer distances. If you have never been on the Pumpkinvine Path, it is a local gem! We are so lucky to have access to this fabulous path in our area! We welcome back all of our past participants! Centra Foundation Boo Bash Costume Dash 5k Run or walk this 5k, it's all about having fun while moving your body. The race will be timed by AB Timing. Onsite check-in: 9:00am Kids Trick or Trot Fun Run This is one is designed for the kids! The route will be approximately 1/2 mile and will include stops for "trick or treating" with local community partners. The Trick or Trot Kids Fun Run starts at 9:30am All Trick or Trot participants will receive a Fun Run medal. Virtual Centra Foundation Boo Bash 5k Complete 5k between October 10 - October 31 However you want to complete this 5k, it's totally up to you! Whether it's running, walking, elliptical, treadmill, etc, your steps go toward a great cause! It's all about having fun while moving your body. Held on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course right after the IHSAA Boys' and Girls' Cross Country State Finals, the Run it Forward 5K allows each participant, regardless of pace, to experience the excitement of crossing the Championship Finish line. The dead have taken over the underground warehouse — and it's up to you to make it through. This Halloween season, join us for a one-of-a-kind event held in an underground warehouse turned zombie-infested maze. Whether you're bringing the whole family or bringing your bravest self, we've got an experience for you. 🎃 Trick or Trot (Family Friendly) Dress up and walk through the underground with the whole family! This is a safe, no-touch experience where kids and adults alike can see the zombies up close, enjoy candy stops along the way, and take in the spooky (but not scary) atmosphere. Costumes are highly encouraged! **an adult must register with a child; children will not be allowed through without an adult** 🧟 Full Exposure: Wave Red & Wave Black Think you can survive the outbreak? Strap on a flag belt and make your way through one mile of zombie-infested underground warehouse. Zombies will be lurking around every corner, trying to snatch your flags before you reach the end. Rules keep our zombies on foot (no running!) to keep things safe and fair for everyone. Make it through with at least one flag remaining, and you'll earn your "I Survived" medal. Lose all your flags along the way? You'll take home a "Casualty" medal instead — still a badge of honor for facing the horde! Note: Wave Red and Wave Black are identical courses, split simply to manage the number of runners moving through at once. Sign up for whichever wave works best for your schedule.

Amack's Well Coffee House is a central gathering place for the community and we love to put on events that bring everyone together. The Java Monster 5k is for all ages and paces. We encourage everyone to get into the festive mood and come in your favorite costume! The race kicks off at Liberty Park, winds through the plex, continues down through the beautiful Brum Woods and back to the park. The Open Door Monster Dash 5K will raise funds for OB Right Start, Open Door Health Services’ program that helps expectant and new parents receive the care and support they need for a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby, and a healthy future. Starting at Canan Commons, this beautiful 5K route runs through the heart of downtown Muncie, through the historic Minnetrista campus, and on both White River and Cardinal greenways. This year, we will also host a trunk-or-treat with fellow community organizations, including a kids dash—all in Canan Commons. Come out for the race, the treats, and to support the community. The Larry Tolbert 5K Race is a heartfelt tribute to Larry Tolbert, a passionate advocate for outdoor recreation who was instrumental in bringing the beautiful nature trail to the Switzerland County YMCA.
