Join us on April 4th for the Mt. Salem in Rockford Park - Jesus 5K. Mt. Salem Church grew out of a community Sunday School movement. Before any public schools, starting in 1814 or 1815, the Brandywine Manufacturers’ Sunday School program of reading, writing, and ciphering along with Bible lessons was first conducted on the floor of a mill and then in its own building at the DuPont Powder Works.  As public education became available the Brandywine Manufacturer’s Sunday School evolved into four Christian congregations.  In 1841, St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church (President Biden’s Church) was formed, dropping out of the Sunday School. Mt. Salem Methodist Church was founded in 1847, leaving the Sunday School movement. In 1851, a third group withdrew from the Sunday School to organize the Greenhill Presbyterian Church. Finally, in 1856, the Brandywine Manufacturers’ Sunday School closed as Christ Episcopal Church opened for its people.

Dozer’s Run/Walk 5K is an annual event hosted by Summers Charity Fund to provide funding for canine cancer research. Summers Charity Fund is an organization created by Roger and Stacie Summers after the passing of our best four-legged friend, Dozer, to cancer in 2019.  With your help we have managed to raise over $100,000 to aid in Canine Cancer Research since 2020.  All donations are donated to The University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine! Joseph Szczerba Memorial 5K, a meaningful event honoring the life and legacy of a true Salesian Gentleman and community hero.  The race was established in memory of Lieutenant Joseph Szczerba ’85, an 18-year veteran of the New Castle County Police Department and proud Salesianum alumnus, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on September 16, 2011. Founded by his widow, Kathy Szczerba, the event supports the Szczerba Memorial Scholarship, which provides educational assistance to the children of First Responders. Each step taken and mile completed helps continue Lt. Szczerba’s legacy of service, sacrifice, and commitment to others, with all proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund.

Welcome to the first year of the Full Moon 5K Trail Run/Walk at Brandywine Creek State Park! The trails of Brandywine Creek State Park are waiting for you! Come on over, enjoy the trails, and watch the moonrise of the Flower Moon at the top of Hawk Hill after you cross the finish line. This year, we are excited to be returning to Trap Pond State Park in Laurel, DE with a 6-hour course.  Enjoy biking (road and trail), trekking, and paddling in both familiar and brand new areas of this beautiful State Park and the surrounding areas. This race is once again very completable for first timers and newer adventure racers, and yet still has enough strategic decisions and challenging optional points to interest our most advanced racers that are looking to battle it out to clear the full course and take first place!  Enjoy beautiful scenic views, unique trees, and diverse wildlife as you paddle, bike, and trek your way to the finish!

Please join us for the Nurses Week 5K! The profession of nursing is often one that is self-less, however, research tells us that when we take care of ourselves, we are better able to care for others. The idea for the 5K came about from the desire to promote wellness, comradery and joy amongst the Caregivers of ChristianaCare. In the spirit of Relationship Based Care, to make a commitment to our patients, our colleagues and ourselves.  Our hope is to inspire healthy lifestyles, work life balance and teamwork at a fun and exciting event for ChristianaCare caregivers and their families and friends. Whether you choose to run or walk, we are hopeful to make this year's Nurses Week 5K one of our best yet. This year's event is free, however we encourage donations.  All donations this year will be going to Nurses House - a nurse-managed, nonprofit organization helping nurses in need across the United States. We are two Delaware Occupational and Speech Therapists who are planning the 3rd Annual Stroke Awareness 5k Run/Walk event. We have identified a need for support and awareness in our community for stroke survivors and their caregivers.  Our hope is to connect this wonderful community with local businesses and resources to shed a light on this important cause.   Proceeds from this race will go towards supporting our foundation's financial grant that is available to anyone living within the state of Delaware, to be used for any stroke related care not covered by insurance.  Some costs that the grant covers include but are not limited to: adaptive clothing, adaptive equipment to improve safety and quality of life, mobility related DME, transportation to and from appointments, speech generating devices, and thickener secondary to dysphagia.  Check out our website at www.shinealightonstroke.org and our social media @shinealightonstroke (Facebook and Instagram). Come join us in this historic event along the scenic coastline of Delaware, our First State, to support our Wounded Warriors and Homeless Veterans. The event is OPEN TO ALL! Our vision is to bring our military and civilian communities together to build stronger relationships. The race will encompass trails on the beautiful Cape Henlopen State Park and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Our programs and support services include our 52-bedroom Ronald McDonald House, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and two hospitality cart programs.

On Saturday, May 16th, 2026, the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation is hosting the 13th Annual Milk Run/Walk at Ramsey’s Farm in Wilmington, DE. All net proceeds will go to The Ministry of Caring’s “Milk for Children Fund”, the Food Bank of Delaware “Backpack Program”, and the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation’s efforts to advance agricultural literacy. The Ministry of Caring in Wilmington serves about 500 nutritious meals at no cost to needy and hungry men, women, and children daily, with milk being just one of their offerings at the table. The Food Bank of Delaware’s Backpack Program provides food for at-risk children on the weekends and holidays when school is not in session. We are thrilled to say we have raised over $260,000 in the last 12 years of the event. While our success has set the bar high, we hope to keep that number growing.
