This race will kick off day three of the Cromwell Riverport Festival!  Over half the course is run parallel to the CT river, starting at River Front Park with a turnaround at the beautiful Cromwell Landing.  Spectators will have great views of the finish and there is ample parking in the Park's grass lot accessible from Rt 99 (Main St). A flat course, great for first time runners!  Registration is $25, Kids 10 & under $20.  The deadline for Race shirts has passed, but some will be available on a first come, first serve basis. 1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards for all divisions.  Race day registration available but please arrive by 8:30. We are again Hosted by the Little Pub beautifully located in the Lordship section of Stratford This mid morning run/walk will feature terrific swag for the 21 & over participants. (Under 21 can register and enjoy the event but will only receive a non-alcohol beverage.) Our Course- 3.11 miles of scenic wonder! 80% direct water views, start/finish and post run fun overlooking Point no Point opposite the seawall https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2606888 This idea all started when we saw an advert for the "Trunk or Treat" hosted by the Little Pub for the little tykes in our neighborhood. Then we figured “Why not something for the big tykes?” So we teamed up to create an opportunity for some fun. Here is what we came up with: The first 100 people will receive- 'A Wine of a Kind' shirt - might be short sleeve, might be LS, you never know & neither do we. We often use various shirts we have in stock. And they might not all be the exact same color of fabric. (size guarantee by midnight 10/20, after that- whatever we have) TWO- half-bottles of wine* (one white, one red) ONE post run glass of a Little Pub beer* Brunch hour-appropriate snacks like pretzel bites, granola bars, bananas… and the Little Pub will welcome you for more great stuff when you are finished! Reg Fee- $35 for 21 & over, just $25 for 20 & under! NOTE- Reg fee increase on 10/19 to $40 and $30 for 20 & under SHIRTS- Might be a long sleeve, might be a short sleeve. We won't be there, honest. 9:45 am Free Kids Dash- just 150 yards or so, costumes encouraged, ages 9 & under please. Directed by Donna Cramond, the Queen of Kids, and semi-professional cat herder! 10:00 am HalloWine 5K run, walk, saunter- START 10:20 am Tentative post run/walk stuff: snacks, fluids, fun AT LEAST ONE FREE BEER FOR EVERYONE 21 & over This is still a work in progress and we are adding more soon! RESULTS- As of now this is a 'timed' event and we will post results online. BUT Jim Gerweck our #1 timer of all things Lordship is working @ the NYC Marathon so we might be doing things a bit differently... THIS MAY BE A PULL TAG TIMED RACE & we can’t get a timer. IF SO WE ARE GOING "OLD SCHOOL"! AWARDS- With all that swag we may not have overall or more than 1st place age group awards. But you never know what we might come up with at the last minute! TEMU is our GoTo crazy award venue! A HUGE shout out and thanks to the Little Pub Restaurant in Lordship! The CT Veterans Day Race features a 4-mile race, 3 mile walk or a 3-mile Ruck, either live or virtual options are available. We are proud that 100% of the proceeds go directly to CT veteran organizations who service at risk or needy veterans.

The 4th Annual Robert J. Lynes Memorial Road Race is a 5K run/walk race with a kids Fun Run just before. It is being held in memory of Bobby Lynes who was a lifelong resident of Meriden. In high school Bob ran on the track team at Orville H. Platt High School. Run for fun, run to challenge yourself, or run in honor of a veteran. This fun race is hosted by Plainfield Recreation to honor and support our military troops and veterans. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the local VFW, American Legion, and Veteran's Coffeehouse. Beginning at 9:15am with the National Anthem, the Fun Run will then take off at 9:30am. The Soldier Stroll and 5K will follow starting at 10:15am with the walkers to start in back of the runners. The route will begin and end at Plainfield High School and follow a route that moves through the athletic fields, Shepard Hill Elementary, and a small neighborhood. Both races are intended for all abilities and skill levels.

NEW DAY AND TIME! In 2026, the 51st Tarzan Brown Mystic River Run will be held on Saturday, November 7th!  Kids' run at 9:30 and 5-mile event at 10am. Great views along the Mystic River, with a post-race party! Entry fees (no additional fees apply): $35 until October 18$40from October 19 to November 6$45 race day (online only, NO paper registrations) Runners and walkers under 18 pay a discounted price of $29.  Kids run (10 & under) is FREE, but pre-registration is required. The race starts and finishes on Pearl Street in Mystic, CT.  Food, drink, and awards ceremony to be held post-race.
