Races

Runners have two years to complete 8 races. No races may be repeated from the list except for the founding race- The Hogeye Marathon/Half Marathon. Races must come from the approved list. Races outside this list DO NOT COUNT. Virtual Races DO NOT COUNT. All events will track their finishers. Awards will not be sent until 2026. Please do not ask for your award earlier.

The Arkansas Ultra Running Association is a 501(c)(3) organization that began in 1989.  We organize, host or designate a number of races and fun runs to be included in our Ultra Trail Series each year, from June through May.  We are unique in that many of our events are free/donation based with our directors volunteering their time.  This saves our runners money and frees up more funds to be donated to the communities that serve us.  Winners of the UTS or UTS LITE (aka Kings and Queens of the Trail) are crowned at the completion of the series.  The award ceremony and post race party is typically held at the Catsmacker, our final fun run of the UTS season. It is a party nobody wants to miss!  The 2025-2026 Ultra Trail Series registration will open here after the final UTS race at Mt. Magazine Trail Run in May 2025.  Individual points are awarded for each event completed, based on the UTS Rules. We will having a Sprint and International triathlons, 2-dualthons and half Marathon, 10K and 5k races.  Proceeds will go towards gear and dues for the local rec summer swim team.  If we have enough funds, we will try and assist parents to go with their children on out of town meets. We are offering more options for races in a virtual setting. These will be a more relaxed "race day" experience.  You will be able to go at your own pace.  You can race in your neighborhood or your favorite route and bike or run on a treadmill and or stationary bike for those races. You can race in the swim portion at a local pool or any open body of water that is safe. Please upload your times and pics to our Facebook page.  We will be sending finisher medals shirt and after the final submission of times on June 9th.  You do not have to submit you times but we would still love to see your finish line photos! Once you've completed the vendor application form and we have approved your company/organization, we will contact you with next steps to register for the Vendor Expo.

Scoring will be like the GP scoring except for a few changes. ·       Points will be awarded for every race participated in based on finish times. ·       Runners and Walkers will be scored together. ·       You must be registered for the series before the race starts, any races that you participate in prior to registration will not count towards your points or ironing. ·       To Iron for the year you must complete all races in the series in person or virtually. ·       Virtual Races and Volunteering will count towards ironing but not overall points.   There will be awards for both Male and Female age groups, masters, grand masters and seniors categories! The start/finish of the half and full marathon will be at the River Front Pavilion 100 N B St. Fort Smith, AR 72901.  Marathon This course is both scenic and challenging and includes historic downtown, beautiful neighborhoods, paved trails, and rolling terrain with a few significant climbs and descents as well. Race date is Sunday, March 29, 2026 with race starting 7:00 am.  Half-Marathon Starts along the marathon route, but turns off around mile 7.5.  The route meets up with the marathon route at mile 9 for the return to the finish. Marathon Relay The Marathon course is broken into 5 relay legs.  First leg is 5.4 miles with 260' elevation gain.  Second leg is 4.8 miles with 114' elevation gain.  Third leg is 4.5 miles with 262' elevation gain.  Fourth leg is 6.3 miles with 237' elevation gain.  Last leg is 5.5 miles with 237' elevation gain.  These distances and elevation gains are approximate and may change slightly as we work on the logistics of setting up relay

Lace up your shoes and leash up your pets for Circle of Life's Pet Stampede! This fun walk will take place during the month of April. Walk your pet anytime from April 1 to 30, anywhere you want! Have fun while doing good for hospice patients and their families!   Your registration supports our Pet Peace of Mind program! Pet Peace of Mind enhances the well-being of both our hospice patients and the pets they love. Our program covers a range of veterinary needs, including surgery. Additionally, we provide our patients with support for grooming, food, and medications. Runnersville REMIX: Walk & Run Ladies Training Camp — FREE Runnersville is a FREE 10-week walking and running program for girls and women of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Whether you’re brand new, returning after time away, or working toward a personal goal, you’ll find encouragement, structure, and community every step of the way. Our 2026 season begins Saturday, February 21, 2026, and leads participants toward a graduation 5K (3.1 miles) — the Chocolate & Diamonds 5K on May 2, 2026. Come out and join us for the second annual 3 mile/1mile memorial run for Debbie Baxter on Saturday March twenty-eighth! This race is a tribute to the light that Debbie Baxter brought into this world and the love she showed for her community. This race is also being held to benefit the American Heart Association, Osborn Church, and the Haven House. Our race track has changed this year to the Piggott Sugar Creek Country Club. Participants will run the pathway of the club twice to make just under 5k. This race route is completely paved. No dress code, but Debbie's favorite color was red if you'd like to support her even more! Runners/walkers of all paces are welcome to join in on the fun! Packet pickup will be day of race. Race is being held at the beautiful Lake Catherine State Park. You have the choice of two races, both are challenging, so you have to make up your mind if you want to run a 10K or a 5K. 10K race is being ran on the Dam Mountain Trail and consists of making two laps around the trail and then out to the finish line.  5K race is being ran on the Horseshoe Mountain Trail. You will follow the trail markers around and back to starting line.

The 13th Annual Mission Run in the Ozarks will take place Saturday morning March 28, 2026 at 7:00 and 9:00 a.m., starting at Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church and ending at the Stone County Court Square. The event will include a 5K, Half, and Full Marathon Run through streets and highways of Mountain View and Stone County. Races will start at Flatwoods Church and end at the Stone County Court Square. Spectators will be allowed to encourage participants along the challenging, but yet, adventurous hills! Parking will be available at Flatwoods Baptist Church. Shuttles are provided back to start area after run. Events will be timed by Agee Race Timing. Online Registration is available! Sunday, March 29, 2026 A USA Cycling sanctioned road race with multiple categories.  The race is held on a local favorite course in Prairie Grove, AR just minutes from Fayetteville. This race is a great early season test of the legs or the perfect opportunity to try your first competitive mass-start road race.

This is a FREE 6 week program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to get out with a group and walk, jog, or run. Volunteers with the Spa Pacers running club will be part of the clinic to run with you, encourage you, answer questions and just have a good time. Clinics will meet twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45 PM at the Transportation Depot, 100 Broadway, corner of Market St and Broadway. The first clinic session will be Tuesday, March 31st at 5:45 PM. Last clinic session will be Thursday, May 7th. This is a FREE 6 week training program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to learn to run or walk for exercise. Clinics will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM behind the Cabot Administration Office near the tennis courts. You can park at any of the nearby parking lots but please do not park in the tennis court parking lot as that is where we meet and warmup. 602 N Lincoln St in Cabot. The first clinic session will be Thursday, April 2nd with an informational meeting. CrossFit Ridge City's 2nd Ridge City Grind is a team 24 or 12 hour ultra trail running or ruck race with an added fitness twist every lap. This years Grind will again take place at The Silos Barn in Bono, AR and will start promptly at 5:30pm on Friday April 3rd, 2026.  The 24 hour race is for teams of 3 in both the run and ruck options and will start at 5:30 pm on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 and go until 5:30pm Saturday, April 4th, 2026. Please join us for our annual, chip-timed, 5K to raise support, so we can continue serving our families in crisis! Our race will be timed by JAYMAX Race Timing Services.    T-shirts are limited, but anyone who registers on or before March 16, will be guaranteed a t-shirt. After March 16, it will be on a first come, first serve basis. All those registered by March 16, will also receive a medal. All races start and finish at Cave City Park at 9 am.  OK Plus Timing Service will be there to provide chip timing. About the course: The first 3/4 mile is pavement before it turns to a roller coaster of scenic gravel roads.  The 5k and 10k are out-and-back routes.  The 1/2 marathon goes out, and you will do a “lollipop” style out and back.  Aid stations will be along the course.  This course is difficult and challenging with rolling hills. Unique finisher awards and the top 3 Male/Female awards will be given for each race.  The deadline to guarantee a t-shirt and finisher medal will be March 18, 2026.  Post-race snacks will be provided for participants at the finish line. Join us for the 2nd Annual Stars and Stripes 5K Run/Walk through the streets of Tyronza! This fun run/walk supports our annual Stars and Stripes Festival and is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The course features flat roads—perfect for PRs—with water stations along the route. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female runners.Last year’s race was a great time, and we expect this year to be even better.
