Whitney's Race is more than a race. It is a race against time. Every person diagnosed with pancreatic cancer is racing against one of the deadliest forms of cancer, and every mile we run brings us one step closer to changing that reality. Whitney Marsh was just 41 years old when she passed away on November 1, 2018, only ten months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Despite living an exceptionally healthy lifestyle, Whitney's cancer was discovered too late for surgery. She continued fighting with remarkable strength, running 8 to 10 miles or cycling 30 to 40 miles a day while undergoing chemotherapy, but even extraordinary determination could not overcome a disease that too often remains undetected until it has already spread. Today, pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers because it is difficult to detect early and treatment options remain limited.
