Guernsey County Crossroads Marathon & Half-marathon

RACE INFO: Join us Saturday, May 16 at 7 am for the Guernsey County Crossroads Marathon. This is a continuation of our Spring Race that has taken place since 2018, but now it has a new name and a new race, the inaugural Crossroads Marathon. This event is meant to showcase historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio and The Great Guernsey Trail and will consist of a marathon, a half-marathon and a 5k distance. This will be Chip timed race with timing services provided by Muskingum Multisports. Starting line will be on Southgate Parkway next to the trailhead located at 134 Southgate Pkwy Cambridge, Ohio.  Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development’s (CDC) Great Guernsey Trail and The Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce. Girl Can Cook Memorial Run

This family friendly event will be a true dedication of Amy Market Jorgensen by combining her love of running and cooking. This event will be used to raise funds to aid others escape a life of domestic violence, that unfortunately took Amy’s life in 2023.    Check in and the start/finish line will be at the amphitheater/pavilion area at Faurot Park. Parking is available at "the bowl" next to the Bradfield Center. The food truck will accept cards, but everything else is cash only. Same day registration is available until the race starts at 9am. The 752-acre park contains a remarkable limestone gorge cut by the Little Miami River which is designated as a state and national scenic river. What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11,2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11,2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! For more information on the Tunnel to Towers Foundation please visit www.t2t.org. We are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs. How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk? FRANTIC FINISH 5K

The 5K course will be run in Olander Park (3ish loops).  The finish/start line will be located at the Nederhouser Community Hall where a brief post race club meeting will be held. This year we will be back to the usual feeding frenzy meal and refreshments! The run will be time graded with a staggered start. Slower runners will start first followed by faster runners grouped according to previous times. Theoretically, runners will finish at approximately the same time. Each runner will be required to state their best 5K time from the preceding 2 years (approximately May 2024 through May 2026). In the event you haven’t raced a 5K in the last year, figure out a pace from a previous race at any distance and convert using a standard race time conversion chart. The clock will start at 6:30 around 48 minutes and count down. Planning to run in 26 minutes?  Start at 26:00!  Planning to run in 19 minutes?  Start at 19:00!
