Run or walk through the beautiful San Saba River Golf Course as stomp out cancer in the Stan Weik 5k and 1 mile walk. All proceeds of this race are donated to the Never Surrender Cancer Foundation. This race is in memory of our late City Manager, Stan Weik. Stan had a deep love for San Saba and it showed. In his memory, we want to make sure anyone that is battling cancer know, they are not alone! LET'S STOMP OUT CANCER! After the race, come enjoy San Saba County Chamber of Commerce's Pecan Bottom Festival in Risien Park. Call Sign Victor and VFW post 3972 are hosting the Salty Soldier, a small, hometown 5k obstacle course fundraiser held in Cuero Tx. There will be a total of 12 obstacles, to include a wall climb, plank walk, cargo net climb, water tank and more! All of the proceeds will go to both of these worthy organizations to continue in restoring our veterans and first responders.

Come and Fool around with us on the best beach in Texas for a 2-Day event!  We encourage you to bring your family and friends and dress up in your most foolish costume as you tackle the 5k and/or Chip Timed 10K course!  A portion of proceeds will be benefiting Friends of Animal Rescue a 501(C)(3) non profit organization in South Padre Island, TX who help reunite lost pets with their families, find homes for unclaimed animals, provide full veterinary care, and run a trap-and-release program to reduce the feral cat population and disease.   Male and Female restrooms will always be open though out the hotel for participants. Grant Crawford Memorial Run Merck Animal Health will sponsor a 5 km run/walk the morning of Wednesday, April 8th with a 6:30 am start time.  Grant Crawford was an exemplary husband, father, colleague, friend, scientist, leader, and runner whose life ended in a tragic car accident last spring.  Dr. Crawford was a co-chair of the Midwest Consulting Nutritionist Forum and an active participant in the Plains Nutrition Conference.  This inaugural race will be continued for years to come. Race entry fee will be $50 plus a small online processing fee; the $50 entry fee will be donated directly to the Grant Ira Crawford Memorial Fund established by the Crawford family.  Additional donations can also be made through the site. The San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Game, presented by Valero, has served as a celebration of success of boys and girls basketball careers. This new game only in its third year has of more than 120 players from over 60 area high schools will take place Sunday, April 12 at the Northside ISD Sports Gymnasium, located at 8400 N. Loop 1604. It is televised locally on KSAT12. We are excited to official bring on Valero as the title sponsor for this event! This year we are excited to introduce our brand new youth clinics. Clinics will be hosted at the practice sites of each of the all star teams, and run by the all star coach and their players. Merus Adventure Park, located in the Palo Duro Canyon offers huge elevation gains throughout the land. The base elevation at the rim of the canyon is 3,412 feet above sea level. The lowest point on the floor of the canyon at MERUS Adventure is 2,500 feet. Most of the elevation gains range from 100 to 500 feet in drop, creating ample opportunities for a challenging race course.  Millions of years of erosion have created incredible colors and a variety of surface materials. As you cover the miles, you’ll traverse sand, sandstone, red dirt, rock, stone, clay, and witness some of the most amazing views! GreenFest on the Greenbelt is an event centered around health, wellness, and recreation. There will be food and activities for the whole family including food trucks, vendors, and music. The walks/runs are not your everyday 5K, 10K or 1Mile Fun Run. They are special because of the surroundings and the unique experience in the festival area. The 1 Mile Fun Run will be around the festival area for all of the spectators to enjoy. The 5K is a good introduction to off-road running/walking. The course will be almost entirely off-road and will take you along the beautiful Greenbelt Trail, across the historic Elm Fork Bridge, and introduce you to the equestrian trails. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. The 10K is for those who are a little more adventurous and serves as a good introduction to trail running/walking.
