The ever popular and patriotic Red White and Blue Shoes 5K on the campus of Furman University on July 4th. This fast race course is USATF certified. The start line is in the parking lot adjacent to the north stands at Paladin stadium. The route circles the mall and loops around the Duke Library at the center of campus. The course then goes across the dam at Swan Lake and takes the paved path around the lake, using the new footbridge at the north end of the lake. The route passes the Amphitheater, goes left on Bell Tower Road to Roe Ford Road, then goes right on Roe Ford Road back to the mall. After coming down the mall road, the course rounds the circle in front of the PAC and goes down the driveway to the North Stands. Runners enter at the back gate of the stadium and finish in a blaze of glory at the 50-yard line at Paladin Stadium. 5K will participants receive a high quality Runners Cap. SOUTH CAROLINA TRAIL RUNNERS Runners and families are invited to enjoy the great outdoors on the doorstep of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest South Carolina. The scenic 5k course is a great for novice trail runners and experienced racers alike. The single track trails meander along and across scenic Carrick Creek from the nature center as youclimb toward Pinnacle Mountain. After a short climb, the 5k runners will race downhill, looping back toward the start finish line. Up for more of a challenge? The 15k race course, which is currently closer to a17K,  will test the most seasoned trail runners. It follows the same route as the 5k for the first two miles. However, the 15k course climbs nearly 2000 feet over the first 5 miles. You will struggle to make it over several gaps and reach the race’s high point of Pinnacle Mountain. Join us on race day, August 14th, 2026 for The Peoples Bank Midnight Flight 1 mile at 8:15pm and 5k at 9pm. Packet Pick-Up: Packet pick-up will be held August 14th from noon until 15 minutes prior to each race starting. Packet pick-up will be held at the Anderson Area YMCA at the front of the building under the awning, and is a drive thru format until 5pm. The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. The purpose is to raise money and awareness for nursing students at the Wesleyan University of Haiti School of Nursing. All proceeds will go to the Wesleyan University of Haiti School of Nursing. The Ville to Ville Sprint Relay is a 3-person running relay. Teams will complete 21 miles with a start and finish at Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest, SC. Runners will travel the Swamp Rabbit Trail and enjoy a festive post-race tailgate celebration with music, college football, and craft brews. Enjoy all the fun of Ville to Ville camaraderie in a shorter timeframe without needing a team vehicle. Race Format The event features six legs, with each consecutive leg getting shorter by one mile. Three team members will split the six legs, with runner #1 completing Legs 1 & 4, runner #2 completing Legs 2 & 5, and runner #3 completing Legs 3 & 6. All teams will start the event at 10 am. A virtual 5k and 10k run/walk honoring those women who blazed the trail for the next generation of engineers in STEM, especially Paula Martin, the first woman plant leader in Greenville, an advocate of the next generation of STEM and a mentor of today’s leaders. As one of Greenville Women’s Network sponsors, fostering STEM education for the next generation of engineers was a crucial part of Paula’s mission. To honor this, we are raising funds for the GE Vernova Women’s Network Scholarship fund awarded by the Society of Women Engineers. Just as Paula did, we aim to honor her memory by continuing to blaze the path and support the next generation of STEM here at GE Vernova and future engineers of our company.
