Our total annual goal is $250,000 to fund technology classes, the Spanish program, GreenHeart Project, staff professional development, and Aquarium “Think Tank” maintenance and stocking. Fall is almost here and we have an exciting race planned with refreshments, costumes, and music ALL in support of our YMCA’s First Thursday Club, a social group for special needs adults in York & Lancaster Counties! ALL Proceeds from this Run/Walk will provide activities, outings, trips, & parties at no cost to the club member. Whether you want to run a 5K or participate in the 1.5 mile walk-a-thon, this is the event for you! Dress in your favorite scary costume and have a spooky run through some of the most ghostly historical areas of Olde York. Early registration is $30 (Walk is $25) and includes an event t-shirt. The Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K presented by Riverwalk is a running event that takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is a fun-filled event that combines running with music and beer. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K race, both of which take place in the scenic Riverwalk neighborhoods of Rock Hill.   To keep the runners motivated, there is a rock band performing live music near the start/finish line. After the race, participants can enjoy an Octoberfest beer garden where they can celebrate their achievements with friends and family. Whether you’re an experienced mountain biker or new to the sport, we’ve got a race you will find enjoyable and challenging. Many are familiar with triathlons competed on paved roads; however, fewer athletes have challenged themselves with an off-road duathlon. The transition area will be set up in the grassy field near the main park office. You’ll start and finish each leg of the duathlon from here. The first leg will be a 5k trail run that will wind through the trails going to the boat ramp. The trails are wide single track and should be a pleasant trail run. You’ll circle back to the transition area and get your bike for the second leg. The bike leg will enter the trail system from the beach to the left/east of the main office. Your ride will take you along the water's edge and through the woods over towards the camping area and Persimmon Beach. SWIM (Half): 1.2 Miles (Ocean/Channel)BIKE (Half): 56 MilesRUN (Half): 13.1 Miles   The Edisto Island Triathlon Pro-Am is a half iron distance triathlon and is moving into its sixth year in 2026 after five wildly successful events!  This triathlon is held entirely on Edisto Island and Edisto Beach, South Carolina.  This soon to be world famous race features a "with the tide" channel swim and two loop bike that is flat and fast.  The run course is a two loop out and back course along the island's "interior" roads and is one of the flattest run courses you will find.     The swim starts at Live Oak Boat Ramp and will be a with the current, point to point, channel swim which will be wetsuit legal. The course will be fast and will finish at The Marina adjacent to Bay Creek Park.  A very short run off the boat ramp will bring athletes in the transition area.  We will stage the swim based on the tide so swimmers will be swimming WITH the current.  THIS SWIM IS FAST!! The third-annual Eagle Way 5k is a fundraiser for McCracken Middle School. Funds raised help to supplement McCracken PTO's efforts to engage and enrich the student and teacher experience at MMS. Kali was a dedicated soccer player and played club soccer for Coast FA 04 girls team and for Aynor High School. This year we're aiming to run across America "From Sea to Shining Sea" and log a total of 5,540 miles together as a group. It's all for a great cause—raising awareness about the serious issue of human trafficking right here in our community. Throughout the week of October 4-10 all participants will track their own miles wherever and however you want to log them. The James Island Connector Run (JICR) provides one of the most scenic race routes in the Southeast and one of the most challenging courses in the Lowcountry! Overlooking the beautiful Ashley River and the historic downtown peninsula of Charleston, this 8K Run, 5K Run, and 5K Walk starts and finishes on the James Island Connector from the James Island side of the river, staying on the connector with no exit ramps. The post-race festival includes a finishers medal and food at the finish line. Lieutenant Kaskin was not only a police officer, he was also a personal fitness trainer with his own business called Urban Crazy Fitness. Anyone who knew Lieutenant Kaskin would know that he took a lot of pride in the following: his wife, his family and friends, his law enforcement career, his mustache, and of course his clients of Urban Crazy Fitness. Prior to his sudden passing on September 25, 2020, Lieutenant Ethan Kaskin had planned to prepare his Urban Crazy Fitness clients to successfully complete a 5K. Join us for an outstanding day of golf at the Wexford Golf Club where we will be playing in a scramble step a side tournament. Registration starts at 9 AM where coffee and an assortment of breakfast delights will be served. Mulligans, a "Swing with the Pro" and numerous other items will be available for sale. The tournament will start promptly at 11 AM. A "cookout" lunch will be served at the turn. A beverage cart will be on the course during play. LOWVELO is an annual fundraising event that rallies the community for one great cause – funding lifesaving cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in South Carolina. Our goal is to eradicate cancer by supporting research at Hollings that investigates new treatments and promising approaches to finding cures. 100% of every participant-raised dollar from this grassroots event goes directly to cancer research.  Participation is open to all ages for the 7- and 14-mile rides, age 13 and up for the Spin® classes, age 14 and up for the 23- and 50-mile rides and age 16 and up for the 80-mile ride.
