The CLV Cross Country team is hosting the second annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. The course will start and finish at the high school. You will run through the town of Cattaraugus. Money raised from this event will be used towards an overnight stay for the McQuaid Invitational. All Wolves on the Run athletes will have a reduced registration price of $10.00. Regular registration price is $25.00. The fee includes a t-shirt, post race food and prices for each age group.

Join us for the 49th running of this amazing Adirondack Coast tradition! Proceeds benefit the charitable work of the Peru Lions Club. All runners will receive Turkey Trot swag, while it lasts! The 5k and the 10k** start at 9am at Peru Central School! Bib pickup will be on race morning beginning at 7:45am and all activities will be outside, with some weather protection provided by the bays of the Peru Central School bus garage. Route Adjustments: We've made a few route adjustments to ensure a proper distance and to make our race more runner friendly. SYRACUSE UGLY SWEATER 5K  November 28, 2026 Race Event start time 10:00am Come celebrate the transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season with a fun and festive Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K for runners and walkers. The 12th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K will once again be held at Onondaga Lake Park under the Lights on the Lake. All runners participating in the Ugly Sweater 5K run (either Team Santa or Team Grinch) will receive a custom long sleeve shirt and custom finisher medal. New for 2026 will be the addition of the Ugly Sweater 5K Yeti Walk. All of those participating in the rewarding 5K walk will receive a custom Winter Beanie and a finisher medal. Post race awards ceremony and party will be at the Cobblestone in Liverpool.  There will be awards for the Overall and Age Group winners as well as prizes for best in dress. According to German Folklore Saint Nicholas rewards good children with sweets and gifts and Krampus punishes bad ones with switches and on occasion Krampus kidnaps the misbehaved by putting them in a sack or basket to haul away to the underworld! On November 28th at 10am the Krampus 5k run and 1 mile walk will take place at the Utica Maennerchor Club at 5535 Flanagan Rd Marcy, NY 13403! This is an out and back course starting from the Maennerchor, up to the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus finishing back at the club. Let's see who can get back without getting caught by Krampus and ensure St. Nicholas will visit you this Christmas!! Stick around after the race for a fun post-race party inside the Utica Maennerchor. Preregistered Runners and Walkers will receive a Krampus winter hat if registered before November 14, 2026. Twice a year the Maennerchor’s chorus, along with invited other choruses, put on a concert singing songs in both German and English. This year’s concerts promoted the country’s 250th anniversary. During the concerts, the Maennerchor makes a cash donation to other organizations within the community such as the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department, The House of the Good Shepard, CABVI and many others over the years.

Please join us for Van Cortlandt Track Club’s inaugural newly resurrected 9-mile cross-country race honoring Pete McArdle*, a running pioneer who made running history in Van Cortlandt Park and around the world, from his home country in Ireland to the Bronx and beyond. This race has a long history in Van Cortlandt Park. Some of you might know it from the days that it was a 15k put on by NYRR, last staged in 2019. The original race, held in 1958, was actually 9 miles, had only 14 runners, and was won by Pete McArdle. So in the spirit of remembering its humble origins, we are returning to a 9 mile version. The race entails 3 loops of Van Cortlandt Park’s infamous XC course, in the back hills and around the flats. Not for the faint of heart and guaranteed to challenge you—come to relive running history in a new edition of an iconic race! Awards from Lloyd’s Carrot Cake! Commemorative buffs to the first 100 registrants! Post-race gathering at the Tortoise & Hare Pub! About Pete McArdle Peter McArdle was an Irish-born athlete who emigrated to the United States in 1956. He soon distinguished himself in his adopted country, competing at distances from the mile to the marathon. At the 1963 Pan American Games, he won gold in the 10,000 meters and bronze in the marathon. The following year, he competed in the marathon at the Tokyo Olympics. After the Olympics, Peter stepped away from running for 19 years. When he returned to running in 1983, he continued to set records in his age group. He trained in Van Cortlandt Park, a place he loved and often said reminded him of his native Ireland. There, during a training run on June 24, 1985, Peter took his last breath. For all his accomplishments, Peter always made time to encourage others in their running.

Rob’s Run is dedicated to the memory of Rob Lauterborn, an extraordinary human being, talented runner. Rob was a member of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Road Runner's Club

The Beer (+ Cider/Seltzer) Mile is equal parts gastric challenge and athletic endeavor, requiring competitors to drink a 355ml beer/cider/seltzer (5% minimum ABV) before every quarter mile of the race, totaling four beers/cider/seltzers over the one-mile course. The beer/cider/seltzer mile is pretty simple. Drink 4 beers/cider/seltzers and run 4 laps in alternating fashion as quickly as you can. But just to be sure everyone is on the same playing field, here some rules to follow: 1. Each competitor drinks four cans or bottles of beverage and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer/cider/seltzer, then run a lap, then beer/cider/seltzer, then lap, then beer/cider/seltzer, then lap, then beer/cider/seltzer, then lap - finish). 2. Beer/cider/seltzer must be consumed within the drinking area before the lap begins. 3. Competitors can walk/move in the drinking area while drinking, but all beverages must be consumed in the drinking area before setting off to run a lap. Beer/cider/seltzer cans must not be tampered with in any manner. (e.g. no shotgunning, puncturing the can, squeezing the can, etc.). The same applies for bottles - no straws or other aids allowed that speed up the pouring process. The only action allowed is opening the can with the tab at the top or twisting off the bottle cap of a bottle. 4. Competitors must follow the course as laid out - through parking lots and on sidewalks. Running in the road will not be encouraged, but allowed only when necessary. Event is open to those 21 years of age and older, subject to verification at the event. We highly encourage a designated driver to accompany you to the race for safe transportation home following the conclusion of our event.

The Monticello Teachers’ Association is proud to present the 12th Annual Tinsel Trot 5k Fun Run! Remember to dress as your favorite holiday character! Your support will provide scholarships for Monticello students as well as benefit local charity! For the past 11 years, the Tinsel Trot has raised money to support local charities and deserving Monticello High School students in their academic endeavors. Join us for the 35th Annual Oswego YMCA Reindeer Run - a festive celebration that brings together runners, families, and holiday cheer! This beloved community event will take place on Saturday, December 5 at 9:30am starting and finishing at the Oswego YMCA featuring a fun 5K run/walk suitable for all ages and skill levels. This is a 5k fun run and not a chip timed race. Dress in your favorite holiday attire, and don’t forget your reindeer antlers! Participants will enjoy a scenic course and views of the city during the most wonderful time of the year, all while supporting your local community YMCA. All participants that register by November 18 will receive a commemorative event item. Proceeds from the event will support the Y, making this a wonderful way to give back while enjoying the holiday spirit. This event is a non-competitive run/walk and participants are asked to dress festively, may run individually or as a team. So put on your jingle bells, antlers, a Santa hat or ugly holiday sweater and join your friends and family for some fun and let's spread holiday joy together! Registration is open until 9:15am at the Knights of Columbus!!! This years event will include a 5 mile scenic run through the village of Wappingers Falls. The course is USATF certified! We will also have a Kids One Mile Run. Both races start and finish at the Knights of Columbus Hall in downtown Wappingers. This will be the 45th anniversary of this classic race. 5 mile race is $20 if pre-registered and $25 the day of the race. Kids 1 mile is FREE if pre-registered and $10 the day of the race. MHRRC Members receive a $5 discount only if pre-registered. We have once again confirmed with the North Pole that SANTA will join us!! He will be around for the kids race and afterwards for pictures in the Knights of Columbus Hall. The first 200 registered 5 mile runners will receive a holiday winter hat!
