Run 5 Feed 5 - 5K

Archdale, NC
Run 5 Feed 5 is a 501c3 organization that hosts events throughout the year including a 5K walk/run in the Spring to fund programs that feed hungry children. Our mission started in 2013 with the hope of raising money and awareness for the dire childhood hunger problem in our communities. Right now in North Carolina, one out of every four children is going hungry, and our goal is to fight that statistic!   Our efforts have expanded greatly over the past several years. We continue to fund the Backpack Pals program through COAT, who sends food home every Friday for local food insecure children. For the past 9 years, we have provided food delivery during the summer and extended breaks to over 500 children locally that would otherwise go hungry. We provide grants to schools in an effort to assist hungry children including assistance with lunch accounts. In 2021, we opened a food bank that is open to all schools to visit and get snacks for hungry children in their schools. In 2022, we started

Hanging Man

Danbury, NC
You’re not here for ordinary, you’re here for unforgettable. The Hanging Man was built for athletes who thrive on challenge and live for adventure.   This is more than a triathlon. It’s a multi-stage endurance experience through some of North Carolina’s most beautiful landscapes.Every stage will push you harder. Every finish will make you stronger. And by the end, you won’t just have finished…you’ll have conquered.  We kick things off at the Green Heron Ale House with a 30-mile bike ride that takes you out to the base of Sauratown Mountain, climbing the challenging Sauratown Mountain Road before looping back to the Ale House. From there, you’ll transition to the first run, heading up to the Hanging Rock bluffs trail and making your way toward the lake. The first 500-yard swim takes you across the lake, followed by a short run back to the swim start for a second 500-yard crossing. Next, you’ll pass the bathhouse and beach before making your way up toward the campground and on to Moore’s

UNC CPALS 5th Annual Golden Heroes 5k

Chapel Hill, NC
Hi! We're CPALS, a non-profit student organization at UNC-Chapel Hill that works closely with UNC Hospitals to support pediatric hematology and oncology patients (our pals!). CPALS members can apply for a 1:1 Pal to support a specific patient and their family during inpatient stays and/or clinic visits. This is a really meaningful relationship for both our patients and our volunteers!    In addition to volunteering our time to create programming and friendship with our pals, we work throughout the year to raise funds for the CPALS Scholarship Program. Through this program we provide financial assistance to our pals for college expenses, which helps their families who have endured the unexpected costs of treatment. We also fund the CPALS Cares Grant to supply immediate financial support to patient families through gift cards to places such as restaurants and convenience stores.   This year, we are hosting the Golden Heroes 5K (named after the color of the childhood cancer awareness
