The 17th annual Running of the Turkeys through downtown York will take place Thanksgiving morning on November 26 with a start time of 8am. First Presbyterian and Trinity United Methodist churches will host the event. Running of the Turkeys was founded in 2010 by local runners and church members wanting to bring a family-friendly Thanksgiving run to York’s historic downtown and to give runners an opportunity to give back to their community. Runners can drop off non perishable items to donate to PATH during packet pick up on Wednesday, November 25 or on the morning of the race. People Attempting to Help, or PATH, will receive the proceeds and donations along with the Grace and Mercy Soup Kitchen of the Wesley United Methodist Church and YSD1 Education Foundation. Started in 1982 by the Western York County Christian Ministers Association, PATH has been serving the citizens of York and its outlying environs for 25 years. The not for profit organization includes a food pantry and associated thrift store and provides emergency aid for utilities and other needs for those in crisis. Corral Start by Pace: Both races will start together. The fastest corral will begin at 8:30am. If your pace is less than a 9min/mile, you will start at 8:30am sharp regardless of being in the 8k or the 5k. The last corral will start before 8:45am. If you are walking, you will start in the last corral regardless of being in the 8k or the 5k. 8k Course Cutoff: The 8k course will close at Mile 2.5 at 9:35am. Half-Moon Outfitters Reindeer Run, presented by The Charleston Place, is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k run/walk located in downtown Charleston, SC. General Race Information The Paris Mountain Road Race 10k is a hilly run around the base of Paris Mountain starting and finishing at Redeemer Presbyterian Church at 6150 Old Buncombe Rd., Greenville, SC. The total elevation gain over the 10K distance is roughly 1500 feet. With over 2500 vertical feet of elevation gain, 89 curves, and some hills at 15% grade, the Paris Mountain Road Race 20k lives up to its billing as the TOUGHEST RACE IN THE SOUTH. The race starts at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, ascends the north side of Paris Mountain, descends on the south side, and uses the hilly back roads at the base of the mountain to return. Sorry, but strollers and dogs are not permitted in the Paris Mountain Road Races.

It's tiiiiiiime! We want to see your ugliest, weirdest, or fanciest holiday ensemble on Saturday, December 12th for the Friends of the Met CAC Ugly Sweater 5K in Forest Acres, SC! Proceeds and donations will benefit Friends of the Met CAC, a non-profit organization established to support the mission of the Metropolitan Children’s Advocacy Center (Met CAC). The Met CAC provides essential services to children who are suspected victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and other types of maltreatment. Your support helps the Met CAC in their fight against child abuse. The race will be officially timed by Fleet Feet Columbia. Be sure to hang around after the race and enjoy a holiday themed awards celebration. Awards will be given to top finishers, as well as to the participant with the "ugliest" outfit.
