10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Big Bird Run Sunday, November 8th First race: 10:00am Annual 10K (6.2 miles), 5K (3.1 miles), and 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 10:00am. Start and finish lines are at the Recreation Authority Center located at 18185 Sycamore, Roseville. The course includes Gratiot Ave., I-696 pedestrian bridge, and several residential streets and parks. All participants in the 10K and 5K will receive a finishing medal and long-sleeve race shirt. The top overall male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K will receive grand awards. Top male and female finishers in each age division of the 10K and 5K will receive an award. **TIME CHANGE** The race will begin at 2:00pm, with the chili cook-off beginning at 2:15pm (set up at 1:45pm). Come on out to support the Frostick Elementary PTO! Participants can either run or walk the 2 mile event. Register 4 or more people and receive an automatic $5 discount!! The run/walk will start at the front of Frostick Elementary and head to the sidewalk on Howard, then take a right on Sanborn to the trail by the duck pond and continue to follow the bike path along M-90, then turn right on the sidewalk on Howard and back to the school. This is a fun run, so it will not be timed. However, we do plan to have a clock at the end of the race so each person can see their time. First 60 registered participants will receive either a winter hat or headband. ALL participants will receive a wristband for FREE entry to the Chili Cook-Off to sample the chili. After your run, enjoy some delicious chili and vote for your top 3 favorites. Winners of the Chili Cook-Off will receive a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place trophy. There will be a $5 fee for non-race participants to sample the Chili, which will be collected at the door. Chili-Cook off will begin at 2:15pm with set up beginning at 1:45pm in the Frostick Elementary Cafeteria and end around 4:00pm, at which time we will announce the winners. Jon and John’s Tris4Health Grand Rapids Virgil and Louise Phelps Memorial Celebrity Leftovers Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race to End Hunger (also known as "The Leftover Run"). Everyone should have leftovers after Thanksgiving. We have partnered with North Kent Connect to raise funds and collect food for those who need help this holiday season. If you aren't a fan of The Office, that title might seem ridiculous, but all you need to know is that we will have a great time raising money and food for a great cause. Kids Race Free! Great Lakes Sled Dog Association (GLSDA) is proud to present a new dryland race event! This race will be held at the Historic Charlton Park in Hastings, MI. The trails located there are a beautiful mix of grassy and gravel terrain through the woods and fields of the park. We are excited to be able to offer this. Hosted by Lutheran Church of the Master, this is the only USATF certified 5K course in Michigan on Thanksgiving Day, and a great way to start your holiday before the big feast!  TSHIRTS and AWESOME AWARDS for all participants!!  Time: Thanksgiving morning, November 27, starting at 8:30 am for the 1 Mile fun run/walk and 9:00 am for the 5K.   Location: ​The race will begin in the parking lot in front of 3290 W. Big Beaver Road in Troy. This 5K Run & Walk will take place along the scenic Silver Lake Laff Pathway, making it the perfect backdrop for a festive and feel-good start to the holiday. This event is all about family, fun, and fresh air—whether you’re racing for a PR, walking with a stroller, or just out to burn the bird before the feast. Open to all ages and abilities, it’s a great way to bring neighbors together and celebrate health and gratitude. All proceeds will help promote future Fenton pathway projects, supporting safe, connected spaces for walking, running, and biking while engaging the community and bringing families together. The THIRD ANNUAL St. Joseph 5k “Turkey Trot” Run/Walk will be held on November 26, 2026!  Starting and finishing at the Margaret B. Upton Arboretum, this will be a wonderful way for families to gather, friends to reunite, and the community to strengthen – not to mention a guilt-free way to begin a day famous for indulging!  Participants will run or walk past Silver Beach Pizza, Shadowland, the Carousel, and our Iconic beaches on the way to an energetic finish with music, refreshments, and awards. Our goal is simply to create an event that will become a tradition as so many other Thanksgiving Day races have become throughout Michigan.

Give your metabolism a boost over Thanksgiving Reconnect Weekend with our Turkey Vulture Trot 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run! The 5K will begin at 9am on Thursday, November 27 on our Mountain Center Road course. The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 10am. A portion of the proceeds will benefit North Sky Raptor Sanctuary .   A commemorative medal will be awarded to the top 3 men and women in each age group for the 5K race. All Fun Run participants will receive a finisher medal. The overall male and female winner of the 5K will receive a Crystal Mountain Prize Pack valued at over $200.    We are excited to announce that for our 2025 Turkey Vulture Trot we will now have Chip timing!
