This youth event involves a pool swim, road bike, and grass run for kids ages 7-14* on the campus of New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM. Cost is $20 + $10 USA Triathlon membership. If the participant does not have a current USAT membership, it will be purchased through this process at the time of registration. *Age groups are determined by participant's age on December 31, 2026. The Socorro Chile Harvest Triathlon has been running for 25+ years!! This race is a 400 m swim in the City of Socorro pool, with a 20 km bike ride through Socorro and New Mexico Tech campus, ending with a relatively flat 5 km run through residential parts of town. The race is well supported by many happy volunteers, and completely organized and run by a local club, Socorro Striders and Riders.

The Philmont Trail Race supports Philmont Scout Ranch and Scouting America in providing its mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oat and Law. Proceeds from the race benefit Philmont Scout Ranch.  Philmont Scout Ranch is a 140,000 acre high adventure camp owned and operated by Scouting America with over 300 miles of trails. Philmont’s main program is challenging and educating scouts ages 13 to 21 years of age through 12, 9, and 7 day backpacking treks. Crews of 8-12 individuals additionally have the opportunity to participate in programs such as climbing, shooting, biking, living history, fishing and much more. We are so excited to be back for our second year!  Located in the beautiful Southwestern Chihuahuan Desert, this race takes you through the canyon south of the Living Desert Zoo & Gardens on State Park and city land. Open to runners, hikers, ruckers, and walkers, you can participate in 1 of 3 challenges: 1 hour, 4 hour, or 8 hour challenge. Participants will have their selected time frame to complete as many 2-mile trail loops (out-and-back) as possible or desired. Flying Horse Half Marathon, 10k and 5k is presented by United Way of El Paso County and sponsored by the City of Sunland Park. The event will start and finish at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. This race is perfect for both first-time runners and experienced athletes who want to take on a new challenge or improve their time.
