Route Layout (Overview) The 3.5 mile course is a loop, starting and ending at the Hoxie School. The course follows paved public roads, a designated campground road, and the Cape Cod Canal bike path. 🟢 Start/Finish Area – Ella F. Hoxie School Start line and finish arch located in front of the Hoxie School. ➡️ Segment 1: Williston Road to Scusset Beach Road Runners leave the Hoxie, turn right on Williston Road. Proceed north on Williston, then turn right onto Scusset Beach Road. Runners will stay to the right shoulder. Volunteers with signs will be placed at intersections. ➡️ Segment 2: Scusset Beach Road to Campground Follow Scusset Beach Road to the entrance of Scusset Beach Campground. Runners will enter and continue through the internal paved road loop. ➡️ Segment 3: Campground to Canal Path Runners exit the campground via the footpath and transition onto the Cape Cod Canal Bike Path. The route turns right onto the canal path, heading toward the Sagamore Bridge. ➡️ Segment 4: Canal Path to Williston Road Runners remain on the canal path until reaching the footpath connector to Williston Road. Course turns right back onto Williston Road for the final stretch. 🔁 Finish Line: Return to Hoxie School Runners head back up Williston Road and turn right to finish where they started.

Last fall, friends, families, and community members came together once again to support the Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk for runners of all experience by showing up to run, walk, or cheer. We were able to raise $4117.37 with funds split between two local food pantries in the Orange and Athol Area! We are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Run for Ryan 5k & 1 Mile Walk, from which all proceeds will benefit the RD26 Foundation. Ryan was a runner, varsity baseball player, and a varsity football player at Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham, MA. When he was a junior in high school he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. To honor Ryan and the amazing athlete and person he was, the RD26 Foundation was formed. The RD26 Foundation has been formed to honor the memory of Ryan Doyle by helping others. The goal of the foundation is to assist programs and individuals to improve and positively impact lives in Ryan’s memory. The foundation will focus on helping families with children battling cancer. The foundation will also award annual scholarships to those who demonstrate kindness, strength of character, and concern for others. Ryan lived with a passion for life, family, friends, sports, and fun and the foundation will support programs and people who share these values. The Upton 10.5K and Half Marathon Trail Race, set in Upton State Forest in Upton, MA, has two races: a 21K (a half marathon with two laps) and a 10.5 K. Runners will navigate single tracks and forest roads. There is about 720 ft of elevation gain per lap. Those who register early will receive TVFR Upton Trail Buff. There are aid stations at the corner of Dean Pond Rd and Park Rd and the Park Rd/Loop Rd intersection, spaced roughly every 3 miles. Post-race festivities will feature fire pits, hot soup, and hot chocolate. Awards include "Custom Made" trophies for the top male and female overall, and age group awards recognize the top three in various categories.

Monson Memorial Classic Half Marathon and 5K The Monson Memorial Classic road race was started in 1996, shortly after the deaths of Kelly Waldron and Kathy Waldron Perry. These sisters died eight months apart from different types of cancer. Kathy suffered with melanoma, and Kelly had breast, bone, and liver cancer. They were wonderful, loving people. This race is in their memory, and past proceeds have gone to American Cancer Association of Western Mass, American Lung Association, Quaboag Valley Hospice, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year we are giving proceeds to Griffin's Friends. Griffin's Friends was founded in 1994 in Springfield, MA and named in honor of Griffin Kelleher, who lost his courageous battle with cancer at 14 months of age. Griffin's Friends is a nonprofit group that provides support to children who are stricken with cancer, and their families. Support the Melrose High School XC teams for a hilly 5K race on the team's home course. The race will be held Sunday, November 8, 2026. Race begins at 9 a.m. All proceeds directly benefit the Melrose XC teams. Due to the hills and terrain, strollers are not recommended for this race. Best parking location is in the lot off of Sylvan Street. Interactive course map can be found here. Rucking for Veterans is a group of veterans and civilians whose purpose is to bring awareness to and advocate for the prevention of Veteran Suicide. The Sudbury Road Race includes a 5K race and a 1-mile fun run. All ages are welcome! Both races start and finish at the Ephraim Curtis Middle School (22 Pratts Mill Road, Sudbury, MA 01776). The Stoneham Veterans Day Run is a 5K course for runners and walkers as part of the Town of Stoneham’s Veterans Day Ceremony. The race is a way for individuals to make Veterans Day more than a day off and for our community to come together in support and honor of local armed service members and their families. Join us as the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity’s Boston Chapter hosts the ninth annual Ryan Shaw Memorial 5K run/walk along the Charles River in Boston in remembrance of our brother and friend Ryan Scott Shaw. Ryan passed away at the age of 18 on May 9th, 2016 shortly after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. There are three ways to give back as part of this year's race. $10 donation for the SGA Turkey Drive to help provide Thanksgiving Meals to families. The 9th Annual Lingzi Dream Dash 5K Run/Walk will take place on the Charles River Esplanade, on a fast, flat 3.1-mile course with views of the city as Lingzi herself saw it. Bring family and friends and join us in supporting the things Lingzi loved — things like community, education and the beauty of Boston in the fall. The Lingzi Foundation honors the legacy of Lingzi Lu, the 23-year-old Boston University graduate student from China who was killed in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. The Foundation embodies Lingzi's spirit by providing educational opportunities for courageous and ambitious students like her and supporting organizations that reflect her passions. It recognizes people who in build bridges between cultures and communities.

Throughout the series, you'll earn points for your performance, improvement, and participation, with the overall standings building toward the final 12-mile challenge. You don't have to be the fastest rucker to have something to chase. Maybe you're competing for the top of the leaderboard. Maybe you're trying to improve your time each event. Or maybe your goal is simply to show up, carry the weight, and finish what you started. Winter will provide the conditions. We'll provide the course. You provide the grit. 2026 Nutcracker Workshop Fees cover all costumes (to be retained by CRBA after the show for future use), all in studio rehearsals which will be held on weekdays Nov. 17, 23-24, 30, Dec. 1-4, 7-9, full supervision at the theatre on Dec. 11 and 12, and a video download/link to share with family so you can view the performance again and again once it is over. For Class 6 and 7 students, the fee will include all of the above, plus an additional costume (retained by CRBA) and additional rehearsals on select Saturday afternoons during Oct-Nov, early Dec. Tickets are not included in the Nutcracker Sweet Workshop fee and will go on sale at a separate time. Nutcracker Sweet Workshop fees paid here are non-refundable. Rehearsals through Dec. 9 are held at our Needham Studios. Dress rehearsal and performances on Dec. 11 and 12 are held at Babson College.

These races and walks have raised the initial funds for the Academy of Notre Dame Rachel Morrison Science Lab.  With the Science Lab now completed, the money raised will be used to fund the annual Rachel Morrison Scholar/Athlete Award and also the Rachel Morrison Science Scholarship Fund.  This run was done each year around Thanksgiving by Rachel and her friends on her high school cross country course at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough, MA. Rachel had hoped to establish an annual alumni run similar to those held at nearby high schools.  She and her friends brought cans of food and other non-perishable food items to the run to be distributed to a local food pantry.   Now we run to remember Rachel.  Rachel was a 4th year PhD student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla CA until her tragic death from a hit and run drunk driver on the night of March 28, 2014 in the city of Del Mar, CA. This event is being organized in memory of our daughter, Rachael Johnson, who bravely battled AML, a form of aggressive Leukemia and left behind a legacy of compassion and advocacy. Built in 1896 as a meeting hall for Pembroke Civil War Veterans, the Grand Army of the Republic Hall building continues to serve the citizens of Pembroke as home of the Pembroke Police Boys and Girls Club. Established in 1980 through the leadership of Pembroke Police Chief Willard "Bill" Boulter and countless hours of many other Pembroke Police Officers and good hearted Citizens, the "Boys Club" has mentored hundreds of young adults in healthy activities such as Boxing, Karate, Weight Lifting and more. Keeping a 120 year old historical landmark in good working order is no easy task.
