T-Bird Trot 5K

Please join us in our small community, Benton, KS during our Benton Day celebration on Saturday, April 25th. Start time is at 8am.  The race will be an out and back course and timed by Timer Guys. T-Bird Trot 5K formally known as Circle Foundation. Several years ago, Circle Foundation handed off the race to the Circle Booster Club.  Same race, same community, and proceeds still benefiting our students in USD 375.  If you feel led to make a donation while processing your registration, we would be extremely grateful!  There is a free will donation breakfast sponsored by the Circle Booster Club during and after the race to kick off Benton Day.  Your race entry includes breakfast, just show your bib when you get in line. For non-participating family members and friends, we encourage a donation.  Our route will include a trail just under a mile of the course. Trail shoes aren't needed for this run. Can you complete a 5K before the Lawrence Community Orchestra string quartet finishes playing Beethoven's Opus 59, No. 3? Find out at this fun event supporting the orchestra and celebrating music and healthiness. Runners and walkers of all ages will start and finish in the Southwind Regal movie theatre parking lot. The route will cover a segment of the Lawrence Loop. Spring Migration Triathlon & Gravel Half Marathon

Emporia, KS
The Spring Migration Triathlon & Gravel Half Marathon will be held in Emporia, Kansas on April 26, 2026. Race begins 9:00 a.m. at Emporia State University, Welch Stadium   Gravel Half Marathon 13.1 miles leaving from the ESU Track & Field Stadium and winding through the scenic Flint Hills.    Sprint Triathlon 400 meter swim The 400 meter swim will take place indoors in the ESU lap pool. 20K bike The 20K bike is a flat out-and-back course that heads north of Emporia on Highway 99. 5K Run  The 5K run takes runners through the rolling hills of Emporia, just west of the ESU campus. This is a perfect triathlon for beginners or for triathletes to kick off their season!  A USAT membership is required to participate in this event. Shawnee Mission School District Staff 5K Walk/Run

This free event is to celebrate the health and wellbeing of Shawnee Mission School District staff and their family members.  *This event is closed to the general public.  All SMSD staff members and their immediate families are invited.  Children 8 years of age and up are allowed to register for the 5K event.  Children under 8 are allowed to participate in the 5K, but must be with an adult at all times while on the race course.  Strollers are welcome. Start and finish line is in the Shawnee Mission South stadium with 5K route on the Indian Creek Trail. Jardine Elementary is hosting a 5K walk/run through the neighborhood in honor and support of our Instructional Coach, Dr. Bridget Stegman. She was diagnosed with ALS, and proceeds for the event will go toward the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter. In 4 years we have raised $19,850 from Steps for Stegman. The 5K will take participants through the neighborhood around Jardine Elementary. Parking is available in the West and South parking lots. The event will start on the East side of the building.   All registrants will receive an event T-shirt, if registration is completed by April 4th. If you are unable to participate in the race, but still want to contribute, please click the "Donate" button! Shawnee Mission Park Adventure Race

Come take a hike off the beaten path of the most visited park in the state of Kansas at the 2024 Shawnee Mission Park Adventure Race. Racers will enjoy hundreds of acres of nature, hiking, and biking trails, as well as beautifully preserved prairie grasslands. Join us on Monday, May 25th at 8:30am for the annual Home Run 5K. One of larger Spring fundraisers with all proceeds directly benefiting local children and their families who are experiencing a housing crisis. This race is perfect for seasoned racers, walkers, kids and strollers and pets on a leash are welcome too! Make plans to visit our enhanced Kids Zone, complete with a large bounce house from our friends at ATEC Services LLC. The first 100 runners that sign up will receive a swag bag. And the first 50 volunteers will be entered to win a $25 giftcard.   Registration is just $30 and teams of 4 or more can save $5 per person. This is an in-person or virtual event, open for any and all participation.  Don’t want to run or walk, we have volunteer opportunities as well.  All participants receive a race T-shirt. Heart of the Prairie Run

Join us for the First Annual Heart of the Prairie Run on May 30, 2026! This will race will be held at Blooming Soul Farm near Nickerson, KS. Please note, this is a new date from the initial scheduled date of September 30, 2025. Due to low entries, the race was postponed to the spring.  Half marathon begins at 7:00 AM 5k begins at 8:00 AM Proceeds will support The Heart of MFB and go to offering financial assistance to families in South Central Kansas who are undergoing medical treatment for birth defects. The Heart of MFB is a 501c3 that offers awareness and support to families through complications during pregnancy or birth defects. We achieve this through offering informational resources and emotional and tangible support including care packages for families. To make this possible, The Heart of MFB relies on donations and fundraising efforts. Donations can be made privately or at our fundraisers. Miles for Miles

The reason for this race: Miles Jacobsen is 10 years old and currently in 4th grade. His family moved to KC in 2021 when his dad was hired as the Lead Teaching Pastor at Heartland Community Church off Strang Line Rd in Olathe. Miles Jacobsen is one of the many kids in Kansas City battling a brain tumor. Days after his 9th birthday in March 2024, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. After a long year of chemotherapy, Miles is now awaiting the development of more targeted therapy that will help him fight the growth of this tumor. Despite these challenges, Miles is a joyful and active kid whose positive outlook has inspired hundreds, if not thousands, of people since his diagnosis. His heart beats strong for people of all ages who are enduring their own cancer journeys, and he’s always looking to lift other people’s spirits. 2026 CKF UNBOUND Gravel

The Chris Klug Foundation is proud to be a charity partner of UNBOUND Gravel since 2024. To join CKF's 2026 Charity team, please ensure you have spoken with our staff at info@chrisklugfoundation.org to complete the necessary steps to become a Team CKF fundraiser. It is a 4-day biking event in Flint Hills, Kansas, and is considered the world’s premier gravel event; UNBOUND is a lottery with 4,000 riders. We will be taking part in the 100-mile and 200-mile races with a team of wonderful athletes.  The Chris Klug Foundation (CKF) has been a charity partner with Lifetime since 2012, raising over $250,000+ for CKF's programs. Heroes for Hospice 5K Run/Walk

Kansas City's first and only 5K to benefit Hospice and Palliative Care!   Our mission is to raise awareness and support for Hospice and Palliative Care, specifically benefiting those at Kansas City  Hospice & Palliative Care and Midland Care Hospice of Topeka and Lawrence.  Since the 2011 inaugural race, Heroes for Hospice has raised and donated a net $248,000 to the two hospice houses!   This family friendly race will take place on a fun route around the Lions Gate Golf Course starting and finishing at REI in Prairiefire.
