Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Tourism Trot - Jana Jordan Memorial 5K Run/Walk

The Tourism Trot 5K Run/Walk event aims to bring together students, faculty, staff, families, and members of the community for a fun, healthy activity while supporting an important initiative. The funds raised through registration fees, donations, and sponsorships will go directly towards the Jana Jordan Scholarship Fund, which helps to provide financial assistance to deserving students studying at Fort Hays State University.  Jana began her career in tourism as the International Group Tour Guide for Hays Travel for several years and then served 26 years as the Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau Director, retiring in 2014. She passed away in 2019 and a scholarship was created in her honor. She was a tremendous supporter of the tourism and hospitality program at FHSU. She supported a scholarship and made many connections across the state creating opportunities for students and moving forward many tourism initiatives. In January of 2015, the Olathe Police Department’s Officer Michael Kern, radio number 704, passed away from a fatal heart attack while preparing for a Presidential escort.  In his memory the annual 704 Blue Run was born and is a tribute to his service and all Olathe Officers that have been tragically lost.   Unfortunately, 2018 saw the unexpected passing of Olathe Police Department Sgt. David Williams. He too will always be remembered for his service and forever a member of this tribute run. Please join us for a beautiful 7.04 mile run or 5K run/walk to kick off your summer! 2026 Sunflower Elementary Community Fun Run/Walk

Lawrence, KS
The purpose of this non-competitive race is to bring the Sunflower Elementary and Lawrence community together to support health, wellness, and connection. The race start will take place at Sunflower Elementary School in the beautiful Lawrence, KS, and consist of a loop circling the Sunflower and Southwest Middle School property that is partially off-road on grass and partially on paved sidewalk. Participants can run/walk from one to three loops based on preference, and volunteers will be present to help with route directing. The finish line of the race is on the Southwest Middle School track.  A Sunflower Fun Run student-designed t-shirt is included in the entry fee, and t-shirts can be picked up at Sunflower the morning of the race from 7:30 to 8:45 am. Payment can also be made in person via check, cash, or Venmo the morning of the race with a t-shirt included while supplies last. We have ran for 35 years, and we have no plans to stop! Welcome to the 35th Run of the Emma Creek 5K/1M run/walk.  This is our annual fundraiser to raise funds to serve our youth, who due to budgetary constraints, would not be able to participate. This race is a tradition in Hesston Kansas and is unique because it is a women's only race, where we have a variety of ages, as we have 17 awarded age groups as well as the top ten!
