Blue Heron Hundreds

Join us for North Alabama's first 100 mile, 100K, and 50K at the lovely Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1938 as a wintering area for ducks, geese, and other migratory birds. The refuge attracts thousands of wintering waterfowl and cranes each year and is home to the endangered whooping crane who first arrived in 2004. The great blue heron is a regular at the refuge, and you will most likely see at least one during your run. A donation from the race will be made to Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Association (WWRA). We are honored to be able to help expand their conservation mission.The Blue Heron Hundreds is held in conjunction with the Singing River Runs. 4th Annual Miles for Missions 5k, 10k & Fun Run

Join us for the third annual Miles for Missions 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run as we raise money for our church mission trip. This year we will be raising money to continue spreading the Gospel to the people of Japan! We will be going in October with Connect Church to share about who Jesus is, teach English, and encourage our missionaries who are in Japan daily.   If you would like to donate any extra funds, we would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you for your interest in our race! The race will begin in Red Bay, AL on 2nd Street SW, right next to Heritage Park. BOOKING IT Through the Bluff

The Hokes Bluff Library Foundation and our co-sponsors, the Hokes Bluff Lions Club and Tawannah Lions Club, invite everyone to join us as we go "BOOKING IT" THROUGH THE BLUFF on April 26, 2025. Options for races include a 10K Run Only beginning at 8:00 AM and a Triathlon starting at 8:30 AM. The triathlon will be an exciting triathlon totaling 42 kilometers starting at the Hokes Bluff Community Center.  Athletes will begin with a 5K run through the streets of Hokes Bluff to Hokes Bluff Ferry Road.  Participants will then kayak 4.5 kilometers paddling with the current on the Coosa River until they reach the designated landing spot at the Coosa Veranda boat ramp. All triathlon participants will be required to wear life jackets when in and around the water. The race will continue, as the challengers complete a vigorous 32.4 kilometers cycle through Eastern Etowah County to the finish line at the Hokes Bluff Community Center. The triathlon can be completed by an individual athlete
