Yakima River Canyon Marathon and Half-Marathon

Join us for one of the Pacific Northwest's most scenic Boston Qualifiers. Our marathon and half marathon point to point courses travel through the spectacular Yakima River Canyon on a USATF Certified course along paved Washington State Route 821 between Ellensburg and Selah, WA.    Awards: We will offer overall and age-group awards this year. Awards will be distributed in real time at the finish line -- check for results at nsplit.com/results.  Details below.   Cutoff Times: We will enforce cut-off times this year. Those who feel that cannot complete the race comfortably in seven hours are urged to contact the race director and ask for the early start, which is two hours before the 8 a.m. regular start. We offer the early start for those anticipating they will be on the course for six-and-a-half hours or more, and the race director must approve your participation in the early start. Yakima Mile is open to kids, families, dogs, veterans, elite runners, and all those who want to run their fastest mile…. EVER (or walk, or jog... as you like). The Elite Mile races bring together many of the fastest milers from around the nation in hopes of breaking the Fastest Mile in Washington – yet again  – and taking home some big cash prizes. Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon

Yakima, WA
The Sun City Barry James Memorial 5K and Half Marathon are put on every year by the Hard Core Running Club of Central Washington. They take place on the second Sunday of October at Volution Fitness, this year at a new location on University Parkway in Terrace Heights, Washington, just east of Yakima. The 5K and half marathon both start and end at Volution. There will be aid stations at miles 3.5, 7, and 10. The half marathon is a favorite race of many participants with rolling hills alongside orchards. Race fee is $15 for Hard Core Runner Members, $20 for non-members, and youth under age 12 are free.  Costs go up to $22 on October 1st. Day of race entries will be $25.
