The Fanciest 5K Ever is a recreational, fun, community race were runners fight human trafficking by running in formal wear! Dresses, tuxedos, bow ties, top hats, tiaras, all the glitz and glam… but on the run for a great cause! Got an old prom dress or ridiculously frilly suit you'd love to strut around in again? Fancy yourself up! All of the money raised goes directly to Safety Compass, a local organization that provides free, confidential advocacy for sex-trafficking survivors in the mid-Willamette Valley region of OR. Runners have the opportunity to become fundraisers and set individual or team goals for donations raised! We've got great prizes for the top fundraisers! 2026 will be a In-Person AND VIRTUAL event, so runners can join us in Salem at West Coast Strength (290 Moyer Ln NW, Salem, OR 97304) for all the fancy festivities and run the course across the river into River Front Park OR they can register and have a two week window to complete their fancy run and submit their time and photos virtually from wherever they are in the world! Music, cowbell, good times… Run’ucopia is a Salem tradition. The course will cross the new bridge through one of the largest interconnected urban park systems in the nation! The Course: The course is a beautiful tour of the largest interconnected urban park system in the United States and starts at the pavilion on the south side of Salem Riverfront Park. It passes around the Eco-Earth and onto the new bridge into Minto Brown Island Park. The 6k run/walk course is now a little more of a loop course. It is closer to 4 miles, and you get to tour a little more of beautiful Minto Brown Island Park. The 10k and 15k go deeper into Minto Brown Island Park before heading back to the Pavilion start/finish area. Many signs & volunteers mark the way. Be sure to check out the route below. The 10k is a very simple out-and-back with a turnaround near the 1930's Buick. The 15k is also an out-and-back, but on the return, you have to turn right to do your 15k loop, which takes you off the pavement onto a nice dirt trail, directing you back towards the starting line. You go deep, then do the loop. Signs and volunteers guide the way. Special gifts for top 3 men’s and women’s winners in each distance. The 1k kids run is free this year, and is for kids 6 and under. Just report to the registration desk to sign the waiver & get their bib. This one is just for fun and is self-timed. All kids run finishers get a ribbon. 5-6 is not too young to do the 6k course, but separate sign up is required for that event. Walking Groups: Walkers are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun. For safety reasons, we ask walkers to stay to the right side of the path to allow runners to pass on the left. The paths are narrow, so please do not block the whole path. Opportunities to contribute to your community: The registration form includes a place to donate to our charity partners. The race organization also makes annual contributions. Please join us to help make Salem awesome. Participating again this year is Outward Church and their annual Thanksgiving Meal Program. They are back at it this year organizing a feast for families in need. Each Thanksgiving, they cook and deliver full meals to over 200 families, many of them were at least partially sponsored by generous Run’ucopia runners. To sponsor a family’s full meal, it is $35. Or please consider just the turkey at $20, or just the sides for $10. The on-line registration form lets you donate any level you feel able to give. The Relay is a 1k loop, completed 5 times, through the Holiday Light Display in Riverfront Park. Relay teams will be given glow sticks to hand off to the next person.

Haley's Heroes Foundation presents 7th Annual RUN FOR THE RARE, a 10k, 5k and 1 mile run/walk to support International Batten Disease Awareness Day.  Did you know that Rare is everywhere? Join us as we run on Sunday, June 14, 2026. 1 in 10 people have a rare disease and 50% of those are children. There are more than 7000 known rare diseases and an estimated 350 million people globally diagnosed with a rare disease. YET, 95% of all rare diseases don't have a FDA approved treatment or cure. Let's run (or walk) to change the course of the lives for all those with rare disease. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish.
