For more than 25 years, the annual USARA Adventure Race National Championships have seen some of the best teams from across the nation come together to compete in a non-stop, 30-hour adventure race. Many of these teams have to push the boundaries of human endurance and teamwork just to finish. Winning requires extreme willpower, mastery across disciplines, and sometime a little luck.  When the race ends, teams come together for an evening meal. We announce the national champions, crown the winners of the national points series, and celebrate the amazing adventure racing community.  The 2026 race is limited to teams of four in three divisions:  mixed gender, all-women, all-men.  There is not a separate masters division, though the top masters teams from across all divisions will be recognized. Race check-in will be Thursday, October 22, 2026. The 30-hour race will start Friday morning, October 23, 2026, and end Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2026. Priority registration opens January 1,

Before you dive into the pumpkin pie and all the trimmings come participate in the 4th Annual Turkey Trot hosted by the Robert Frost Parent Teacher Club. Whether you're a serious athlete, a walk-and-talk kind of person, looking for an activity to get the kiddos out of the house, or avoiding your in-laws (we won't tell), the Turkey Trot is the place to be on Thanksgiving morning. The PTC is excited to be working with the Silverton Runners Club this year. They helped us design a brand new 5K-course and a separate 1-mile fun run/walk. Also new this year, participants will have the option to purchase additional raffle tickets. The 5K Course will start at 8:30 am and is $25 for adults, $10 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. This pricing will be calculated based on birthdate entered during registration. No extra coupon code is required. Please note that the 5-K Course is not a closed course. Event route is on public sidewalks along streets with vehicle traffic and does cross commercial driveways. Walkers are allowed on the 5-K course, we ask that you consider congregating towards the rear of the starting area to allow runners plenty of space to get started. The 1-mile Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:40 am and is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. The ORRC Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo is a multi-generational family event. Runners and walkers of all abilities love the 5K, untimed out-and-back course. The event starts at The Oregon Zoo by the Forestry Center and the Max station, then goes out toward the International Rose Garden, and finishes inside The Oregon Zoo at the Elephant Plaza. The Tot Trot (children 0- 4 years old) and the Gobble Gallop (for children between 5 and 10 years old) events follow the 5K at the Elephant plaza inside the zoo. Every entrant in the 5K and kids events receive an awesome beanie hat and chocolate turkey. There will be no shirts this year, but we are bringing back medals for all finishers. PLEASE NOTE: The event is capped for non-ORRC members at 2,200 participants! The deadline to register is Thursday, November 19, 2026, and there is no day of race registration. The Course: The course is a beautiful tour of the largest interconnected urban park system in the United States and starts at the pavilion on the south side of Salem Riverfront Park. It passes around the Eco-Earth and onto the new bridge into Minto Brown Island Park. The 6k run/walk course is now a little more of a loop course. It is closer to 4 miles, and you get to tour a little more of beautiful Minto Brown Island Park. The 10k and 15k go deeper into Minto Brown Island Park before heading back to the Pavilion start/finish area. Many signs & volunteers mark the way. Be sure to check out the route below. The 10k is a very simple out-and-back with a turnaround near the 1930's Buick. The 15k is also an out-and-back, but on the return, you have to turn right to do your 15k loop, which takes you off the pavement onto a nice dirt trail, directing you back towards the starting line. You go deep, then do the loop. Signs and volunteers guide the way. Hilly and challenging course with breathtaking ocean views. The race is entirely on paved roads.   For both courses, runners loop through Shore Acres heading out (south), and run straight back on the return (north). 5K Course Map 10K Course Map Note that students are $5.00.  Please use the coupon code Student2022 to register.  To avoid credit-card fees, you will not be charged at check-out.  Please bring $5.00 (exact change appreciated) to registration! ORRC’s 1200 Club program is available for current club members to run or walk 1,200 miles in one calendar year (averaging about 100/month, or about 25/week). The purpose is meant to be a challenge and motivational tool running from January 1 through December 31. Participants who complete 1200 miles in one calendar year (January through December) receive a jacket the first year, and patches to add to the jacket in subsequent years. You must be prepared to track your walking and running miles and report them to the club at the end of each month. Give yourself a challenge and join the 1200 club!
