The Fanciest 5K Ever is a recreational, fun, community race were runners fight human trafficking by running in formal wear! The Course: The course is a beautiful tour of the largest interconnected urban park system in the United States and starts at the pavilion on the south side of Salem Riverfront Park. It passes around the Eco-Earth and onto the new bridge into Minto Brown Island Park. The 6k run/walk course is now a little more of a loop course. It is closer to 4 miles, and you get to tour a little more of beautiful Minto Brown Island Park. The 10k and 15k go deeper into Minto Brown Island Park before heading back to the Pavilion start/finish area. Many signs & volunteers mark the way. Be sure to check out the route below. The 10k is a very simple out-and-back with a turnaround near the 1930's Buick. The 15k is also an out-and-back, but on the return, you have to turn right to do your 15k loop, which takes you off the pavement onto a nice dirt trail, directing you back towards the starting line. You go deep, then do the loop. Signs and volunteers guide the way. For safety reasons, we ask walkers to stay to the right side of the path to allow runners to pass on the left. The paths are narrow, so please do not block the whole path. Please join us to help make Salem awesome. Participating again this year is Outward Church and their annual Thanksgiving Meal Program. They are back at it this year organizing a feast for families in need. Each Thanksgiving, they cook and deliver full meals to over 200 families, many of them were at least partially sponsored by generous Run’ucopia runners. To sponsor a family’s full meal, it is $35. The Utah County Santa Run 5K and 1.55 mile is the last of the Utah Santa Runs and has a new course. Held in Salem Utah near Payson. All participants get a Santa Suit to run in and Milk and Cookie Aid stations supported by Elves that dress as Volunteers. This is an awesome looped course around Salem Pond. Salem Pond has an incredible Christmas display of lights floating on their pond. Run over their bridge and feel the beauty of the season.

The Relay is a 1k loop, completed 5 times, through the Holiday Light Display in Riverfront Park. Relay teams will be given glow sticks to hand off to the next person.

Help the Northshore Education Consortium raise money for students by joining us for the 15th running of the Festivus 5K for Autism on December 13, 2026 in historic downtown Salem, MA! We are expecting 500 runners! In fourteen years this race has raised over $325,000 for children with autism. With your support, we will be able to purchase much-needed technologies to assist and educate children with autism at the Northshore Education Consortium* (NEC). There are more than 7000 known rare diseases and an estimated 350 million people globally diagnosed with a rare disease. YET, 95% of all rare diseases don't have a FDA approved treatment or cure. The City of Salem, known as "Virginia's Championship City", has hosted numerous NCAA National Championships as well as many other national and international sports tournaments. In 2016, we decided to branch out and bring that "Championship" mentality to running! US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel.
