A Coffee Run brought to you by the Delaware Athletic Trainers' Association!  The DATA is excited to bring you our 5th Annual Coffee Run!  Even if you do not love coffee---we promise a family friendly morning for all levels of runners and walkers! This event is a fundraiser for the Delaware Athletic Trainers' Association. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are licensed healthcare providers that specialize in injury and illness prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation, as well as emergency care and preparedness of the physically active. Our traditional setting is in secondary schools, collegiate, and professional athletic departments (We are the ones with the fanny packs that run out for injuries!!) but you will also see us in other places, including PT clinics and doctors offices. Grab your strongest friends and team up for the ultimate tug of war challenge! Teams of 6 will compete for time as they pull a fully loaded 20-ton fire truck down Academy Street in downtown Newark.   Prizes will be awarded to the fastest all male, all female and co-ed teams. All proceeds benefit Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company, a fire and EMS company that’s served the greater Newark community for 135 years. They’ve had our backs for decades -- now it’s time for us to return the favor.

What is the definition of a Patriot? According to Webster it is one who loves and supports his or her country. But we would like to add a little more to that definition.  A Patriot is also someone who loves and supports his friends and family. That is who Chris Pepe was and what he will always be remembered as...A Patriot. Join us for our Annual 4.2 Miler in honor of Captain Christopher S. Pepe US Air Force. Chris was a huge supporter of Pat's Run in honor of Pat Tillman.  Chris and his friends would go out to Arizona every year to run and support the great cause.  We thought it was only appropriate to have a 4.2 Mile Run/Walk. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Fusion Foundation, which will support organizations that Chris cared deeply about.

James was passionate about life and the things that brought him joy, music was a big part of that. In his memory, we would like to bring joy to other young people by giving them the means to pursue their passions.

Please join us for the Nurses Week 5K! The profession of nursing is often one that is self-less, however, research tells us that when we take care of ourselves, we are better able to care for others. The idea for the 5K came about from the desire to promote wellness, comradery and joy amongst the Caregivers of ChristianaCare. In the spirit of Relationship Based Care, to make a commitment to our patients, our colleagues and ourselves.  Our hope is to inspire healthy lifestyles, work life balance and teamwork at a fun and exciting event for ChristianaCare caregivers and their families and friends. Whether you choose to run or walk, we are hopeful to make this year's Nurses Week 5K one of our best yet. This year's event is free, however we encourage donations.  All donations this year will be going to Nurses House - a nurse-managed, nonprofit organization helping nurses in need across the United States. We are two Delaware Occupational and Speech Therapists who are planning the 3rd Annual Stroke Awareness 5k Run/Walk event. We have identified a need for support and awareness in our community for stroke survivors and their caregivers.  Our hope is to connect this wonderful community with local businesses and resources to shed a light on this important cause.   Proceeds from this race will go towards supporting our foundation's financial grant that is available to anyone living within the state of Delaware, to be used for any stroke related care not covered by insurance.  Some costs that the grant covers include but are not limited to: adaptive clothing, adaptive equipment to improve safety and quality of life, mobility related DME, transportation to and from appointments, speech generating devices, and thickener secondary to dysphagia.  Check out our website at www.shinealightonstroke.org and our social media @shinealightonstroke (Facebook and Instagram). Welcome to the Delaware SwimFest presented by French Creek Racing! Swimmers can choose an 800m race, 1600m race, or for a challenge - both races! Swimmers should be confident of their ability to swim 800/1600 meters in open water before entering. We follow USAT's guidelines for use of wetsuits. Anything below 78ºF will be wetsuit legal and above 78º will be non-wetsuit. Anyone who wishes to wear a wetsuit above 78ºF will simply compete as an unofficial racer. Staff Sergeant Christopher Slutman was not only a loving husband, father, son and brother but he was also a FDNY Firefighter. Sadly, while serving in the Marines, he was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Chris was an avid runner with his wife Shannon.  Join us in honoring this American HERO by running or walking in his honor. All funds from the event will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which supports the families of fallen or catastrophically injured military and first responders and the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation which is building a memorial to honor our heroes on the National Mall.

Graham Cancer Center campus in Newark, Delaware.   Proceeds for this year's race will be used to support groundbreaking bench-to-bedside cancer research in order to speed the discoveries made in scientific labs to clinical trials that benefits patients.    Your support will help provide vital early-stage funding to accelerate translational cancer research.
