About the Event This is a short but challenging 4-mile-ish route with over 800 ft of elevation gain. Whether you’re racing for a top spot or taking a fall hike, you'll traverse green lanes, single-track woodland boundary trails, and open ridge tops featuring stunning views up and down the Kanawha Valley—all during peak autumn colors! · Relay option is available for runners. For hikers, if you don’t want to do it all, you can just hike one half of the route. Keep an eye out for local wildlife like deer and box turtles, as well as historic monuments honoring the individuals who shaped Charleston’s rich history. Our 15th Annual Drumstick Dash 5K starts on Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, 2026 at 9AM. Registration includes a Race T-Shirt up until Monday, November 9th at 11:59PM. After that date, shirts will be available as supplies last. Our race motto is “Shuffle your feet so others can eat!” We encourage participants to bring as much canned food and nonperishable food as possible. Dress warm, but feel free to dress up in costume!

Children's Therapy Clinic 10th Annual "Light the Way 5K" Children's Therapy Clinic invites you to kick off the holiday season with us at the 10th Annual Light the Way 5K on Saturday, December 5, 2026, in downtown Charleston! This festive evening walk/run winds through streets illuminated with Christmas lights and filled with holiday cheer. Participants will enjoy hot chocolate, caroling, and fun contests, including Ugly Sweater, Most Creative Team Theme, and Best Costume. Welcome to the 17th running of the Frozen Sasquatch trail race. The race consist of two distances, 25k and 50k, both starting at 8:00am. The course is a 15.8 mile loop (50k runners do two loops) and will take place on some of the best trails in Kanawha State Forest. Come start the year right with your first trail race of the year. Keep your eye out for sasquatch lurking in the woods.

Flat Roads, Fast Times, and Friendly Vibes – Run Charleston! A fast and flat Boston qualifying course through the City of Charleston, West Virginia will take you 26.2 miles around our state capitol, on the historic streets of the city, across the Kanawha river, and through the University of Charleston campus! The University of Charleston Marathon intends to promote community, encourage health and wellness, and serve as a critical funding source for the University of Charleston Honors College students. We aim to provide a high-quality race experience for runners, volunteers, spectators and the surrounding community.
