TyWanza Sanders, a man with a philanthropic spirit and a commitment to the achievement of youth in his community and beyond, was the youngest victim of the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church Massacre. To honor his life and continue his legacy, Race 4 Achievement Inc. (R4A) created this family-friendly community run/walk (3.5 miles) to provide funds for R4A's TyWanza Sanders Scholarship Fund and other philanthropic outreach programs.    This community event is R4A's primary fundraiser, enabling us to persist in our mission of supporting the community and championing diversity within the Charleston #commUNITY. Race Details: Come join us for one of the oldest races in Southeast Missouri.  The Dogwood - Azalea Run was first ran in 1979 and the tradition continues today!  The race takes place during Charleston’s Annual Dogwood Azalea Festival.  It starts and finishes at Rolwing Park while the Festival is taking place.  This is a flat, fast, and beautiful course that is perfect for the 1st time runner and is equally as great for the seasoned runner.  There will be spectators along the entire route cheering for you all the way to the finish line!   We currently offer 3 races Toddler Run - $5.  This run is one block. Since its launch in 2007, Charleston Digital’s iFiveK has grown into Charleston’s premier race and networking event for tech professionals. Proceeds from the race support Charleston Digital’s education and diversity initiatives.  This weekday evening event is limited to 500 participants and kicks off at 6:30 PM at the Charleston Tech Center in downtown Charleston.   Race registration includes access to the after-party, featuring food and drinks from our partner vendors. Walk for Autism- Charleston is a 501(c)(3) agency that values the educational needs of children with autism.  Our mission is to develop and implement strategies which cultivate increasing community partnerships, while fostering financial support for the treatment and intervention of autism through behavioral and relational development programs.     Kids 5 and under are free! The Max Arco Mastromichalis Foundation 5K Join us at 9 a.m. Sunday, April 26 for The Max Arco Mastromichalis Foundation 5K - a fun, community-centered race created to honor Max's legacy and raise funds for graduating George Washington High School seniors each year.  Max was passionate about fitness, determination, and living life with a full heart, making this fundraiser a meaningful way to celebrate the values he lived by. Packet pick up will occur at George Washington High School parking lot, located at 1522 Tennis Club Road in Charleston, 5-7 p.m. Saturday, April 25. The Middle Ridge Monster is a FREE WVMTR Club Event! This is meant to be a social event that encompasses the true spirit of old school ultra running. There won't be 17 different flavors of Doritos, or gluten free/vegan/no-gmo/sugar free/low carb/organic/fair trade/local sourced pretzels. Just trail runners having a good time.  Runners will be able to access their vehicles at the end of each loop and will be able to get any additional food/aid needed.  It is an 8 hour event. If someone is trying for a distance PR, or wants to get their first ultra, this event is for you. If someone wants to come out and only run for 2 hours, you are welcome. There are no cut-offs. The only finish line is the one you create for yourself. Michael W Leibowitz was always on the move. A fixture in the Charleston running community, he once participated in more than 70 races in a single year! Michael traveled across the globe for a good cause, bringing family and friends with him whenever they obliged. His motto, which he routinely shared accompanied by a photo on every trek, was “If I can do it, so can you.”   Michael was tragically killed at age 71, along with his friend Christina Chung, in an accident in July 2024. His grandchildren, children, family, and friends wish to honor his memory with this annual event. Why 5.12 K? In honor of Michael’s birthday, May 12 - and because he revered being a little different with measurements. All proceeds from this memorial event will be donated to the Michael W Leibowitz Family Fund, to support the charitable causes closest to his heart. The Big Timber Trot 10K and 6K returns on May 25 in Kanawha State Forest for a scenic and challenging trail race directed by the same experienced team that has hosted races in the forest for years. This event is one of two races held annually in the park and reflects our continued commitment to delivering high quality, well organized trail running experiences. Both distances will start and finish at Shelter 6 and guide runners along winding forest roads, steady climbs, and classic West Virginia terrain that is welcoming to newer trail runners while still offering a rewarding challenge for seasoned participants. Race shirts are guaranteed to all runners who register by May 15 at midnight, with remaining extras available first come first served while supplies last.

In loving memory of Buffy Bonwell. Children’s Home Society needs your support. On May 30th, 2026, we are hosting our third annual 5k fundraiser at the University of Charleston. The Children’s Home Society has been serving children and families for over 129 years. Today, we have 13 primary locations and 28 physical locations to provide adoption, foster care, and emergency shelter care statewide. Our goal is to raise funds that will assist the needs of the children at the Davis Child Shelter and in our Foster Care and Adoption Program. The 5K run/walk race will be hosted at the University of Charleton.  Water stations will be set up for the convenience of the participants.

Get out your running shoes and bring the whole family to Races for All Paces on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium. This family-friendly event offers something for every fitness level, including a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, 5K, 10K, Toddler Trot, and Diaper Dash. Enjoy fun activities for all ages. All 1-Mile, 5K, and 10K participants receive a medal, with age-group awards for the 5K and 10K. Register by May 16, 2026, to guarantee your free T-shirt. Each June, the CAMC Foundation holds the CAMC Foundation Run for Your Life 5-Mile Run/2.5-Mile Walk. All proceeds from the event benefit colorectal cancer awareness and screening initiatives to help people who cannot otherwise afford critical screening procedures in our community. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer, and the second deadliest in both men and women combined in the United States.  The 5 mile run and 2.5 mile walk begins at Haddad Riverfront Park, takes runners and walkers through the streets of Charleston and returns to the park to finish. Each year, more than 400 runners and walkers come out to enjoy a morning of physical activity, music along the event course, refreshments at the finish line, and support a good cause. America's only 15 mile race is a scenic but challenging course, starting at our majestic State Capitol, taking you through downtown, rolling through our beautiful hillside neighborhoods, and along Charleston's riverfront.

The James Island Connector Run (JICR) provides one of the most scenic race routes in the Southeast and one of the most challenging courses in the Lowcountry! Overlooking the beautiful Ashley River and the historic downtown peninsula of Charleston, this 8K Run, 5K Run, and 5K Walk starts and finishes on the James Island Connector from the James Island side of the river, staying on the connector with no exit ramps. The post-race festival includes a finishers medal and food at the finish line. The race starts at 8:00 am for all distances, runners and walkers.   Awards & Swag We will have the top finisher awards as well as 3 deep in all age groups and a walkers award: top 3 Male and Female walkers. The Kanawha State Forest Half Marathon and 7K offer runners a challenging and scenic experience deep within one of West Virginia’s most iconic natural areas. Set entirely inside Kanawha State Forest, this race takes you along winding forest roads and wooded routes surrounded by dense trees, rolling terrain, and the quiet atmosphere of the hills. Half-Moon Outfitters Reindeer Run, presented by The Charleston Place, is a family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k run/walk located in downtown Charleston, SC. This year we celebrate our 35th year of the annual race! The event has grown significantly over the years; from only a few hundred participants to record attendance of over 3,500 runners.  The funds generated from the Reindeer Run benefits the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital located in downtown Charleston. This hospital provides more spacious, family-centered amenities and expanded services, including an expanded neonatal intensive care unit, an entire floor dedicated to the care of children with cancer, and the most comprehensive pediatric heart center in South Carolina.
