Please join us on Saturday October 24, 2026 for our 6th annual Ghostly Gallop 5k! Our 5k is Halloween themed and we encourage runners and walkers to come in costume! We know you want to wear that Halloween costume more than once! Each runner will receive a t-shirt at check in and there will be a overall female and male runner, plus each age group top finisher male and female. Join us at the Bangor Waterfront for the Opioid Prevention 1-Mile Run, Walk & Wheel—an inclusive community fundraiser focused on raising awareness, supporting prevention efforts, and bringing people together in response to the impact of the opioid crisis. Online registration for the Great Pumpkin 10K is now open. The first 100 entrants for the in-person race receive a long-sleeve race shirt. We're also offering a virtual option, with no shirt. Race-day registration and bib pickup is outside Huot's Seafood Restaurant on Eastern Avenue in Camp Ellis, which is where the finish line is located. The start is about four-tenths of a mile away, at the corner of Seaside Avenue and Ferry Road (Route 9), so you'll want to arrive early enough to give yourself time to get to the start. As usual, proceeds will benefit two charities – the American Lung Association of New England/Trek Across Maine and Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation.

The Maine Summit Trek for Tree is a unique fundraising and community event hosted by Lost Valley and benefitting Tree Street Youth. The Maine Summit Trek for Tree creates an opportunity for the whole community to summit Lost Valley in Auburn, Maine as many times as possible in 4 hours! Together, we will see how many 4k Maine peaks can be climbed both collectively and individually. Bring your competitive spirit or just show up for some fun! While the event is open for all, the Maine Summit Trek for Tree also offers its signature Endurance Hiking Challenge. From 11AM-3PM, Endurance Challengers will run, hike, and walk the Access Road of Lost Valley to reach the peak. Take the chair lift down or descend the same path. BMS STEM students are excited to host our Annual SPOOKY 5K this year. The idea for this race was born as a student-led project. Students work alongside their teachers in planning and hosting this event. The purpose is to promote positive community and to raise money for special STEM learning activities at BMS. The money goes toward field trips, maintaining STEM equipment, and other endeavors to enrich our students' experiences at school. In addition, students learn many other valuable skills as they work on various planning aspects of the project such as fundraising, marketing/design, course planning, and race officiating. This event takes place near Halloween, so costumes are encouraged! The course also contains Halloween themed decorations. There is an additional event that takes place during the 5K, called the Candy K. This fun event is geared toward children 10 and younger and includes age appropriate games and a 1 kilometer fun-run, during which participants collect candy and traverse through a decorated course. The inaugural Trick or Trail 5K Trail Run at Wells Reserve at Laudholm will be held on October 31st, 2026. Located at 55 Skinner Mill Road in Wells, Maine, the Wells Reserve at Laudholm is home to over 2,200 acres of conserved meadows, woods, wetlands, and a wild beach-- making it one of the most beautiful backdrops for a run in all of Southern Maine! Ararat High School, and will be on sidewalks, paved roads and some gravel roads. The course is mostly flat with a few gentle hills. The 5k run/walk will be timed. Strollers and well-behaved dogs are allowed. There will also be a 1k fun run for kids (5th grade and under) before the 5k. The 1k fun run will be a traffic-free loop around the Mt. Ararat High School. Race pricing increases on race day, so sign up before Nov. 8! Run registration includes entrance to the pie breakfast. If you want to skip the run/walk, you can join us just to eat pie! The pie breakfast starts at 9 am. There will be sweet and savory pies, and other pie-like items like quiche, crisps and pizza. Come join us for the 5th annual 5k run, one mile walk, and kids fun run to help raise money to end epilepsy! Kids fun run begins at 10:00am. The 5k and one mile walk will begin at 10:30am. This event was inspired by our youngest son who had his first seizure the summer of 2019. He had a long journey with over 20 seizures in less than a year span. Throughout that time my husband and I always tried to find a "silver lining" with every episode and challenge that happened within the journey. This event is our silver lining and also our way to give back to others who have fought and are fighting the same battle! This year Henry Crusade will be in honor of our dear friend Kim Charland. Kim lost her batter to breast cancer this past spring. Kim's life was full of cheering on others and helping anyway that she can. For anyone who has been fortunate enough to have met Kim knows that Kim was the silver lining in life! This year the proceeds will go to two places, the New England Epilepsy Foundation and a scholarship that will be set up in Kim's name (scholarship is still in the works). Spice up an enjoyable 3x3k morning mountain bike on our newly renovated single track trail at Roberts Farm Preserve with 2 stops at the shooting range. We provide the air rifles and pre-event instruction and target practice. $15 for adults, $5 for students. Check in and air-rifle target practice open 9-10AM. The 3x3k mtn bike biathlon which combines single track and wide trails will start at 10:30. Any MSAD17 student registered for the biathlon needing a bike for the event should contact Lee at 739-2124.

The Wells Chamber of Commerce is hosting our 13th Annual Wells Veterans Day 5k.  Proceeds will once again benefit Honor Flight Maine.  Run (or walk) your own 5k (3.1 miles) on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The cost to enter is $20 (adults 18+), $15 (students 11-17) and kids (10 and under) are free (RunSignUp fees are extra).  As in past years, the first 100 paying registrants will receive a men's long-sleeve t-shirt. The details on the original race route are posted below (under directions).  The start and finish is the Trailblazer's Family Club located at 102 Bills Lane in Wells.  The 5K loop takes you through beautiful, remote back roads of Wells.  The course is considered flat, which is great for those either looking to set a new PR and/or for first-time 5K'ers.

The 57th annual Maine Track Club Turkey Trot 5K will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, at Cape Elizabeth Middle School. The free kids' run will take place at 8:30 a.m. It's a quarter-mile out-and-back or a 0.5-mile two-loop out-and-back. All 5K runners registered by Oct. 31 will receive a custom designed long sleeve commemorative t-shirt Race proceeds and food donations benefit Wayside Food Programs.

Welcome to the Westbrook High School Turkey Trot 5K 2026. This is a great fundraiser for our Project Graduation for the class of 2027. All proceeds will go directly to the class. Our Kids Mile - designed for participants age 12 and under, starting at 8:30am at the high school track. A traditional 5K will start at 9:30am in the parking lot by the baseball field. Runners and walkers are all welcome. All participants will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot 2026 medal! You'll need to pick up your bib and race prep items. We'll be hosting bib pickup on Saturday, November 21st from 11am-1pm at the High School Parking lot. You can also pick it up the morning of the race. We will have a timer, and results will be posted. *Cancellation Policy* In the event of extreme weather (e.g., thunderstorms, washed-out course, etc.) that warrants a cancellation, racers will be notified as soon as possible. If the weather is mild but safe, the race will continue as scheduled. If the race is canceled, it will not be postponed. Refund Policy No refunds will be issued in the event of race cancellation or if participants choose not to race due to weather.

19th Annual Greely Hockey Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race Proceeds of this race benefit the Greely Hockey Boosters - a non-profit organization that supports, encourages, and advances the girls’ and boys’ ice hockey programs of MSAD #51. Get ready for it.... THIS YEAR MARKS THE 11TH ANNUAL SAVAGE FAMILY TURKEY TROT!! It amazes me what we have accomplished as a community. I had no idea that this race would make such an impact on the families of South Portland and I have all of you to thank for it!! My kids (who were almost 7 yrs old at the time) and I decided to create this Thanksgiving morning event back in 2016 to honor their dad Nathan. Nathan was an avid runner, biker, triathlete and family man who lost his life to a fatal heart attack on July 2, 2016, just three weeks before he was set to compete in his first full Ironman event, and just months prior to his 40th birthday. We work solely as volunteers and give 100% of our profits back to the kids of South Portland. Most of the money has gone to the Nathan Savage Memorial Fund, a scholarship account through the South Portland Community Center that gives financial assistance to any child wanting to participate in one of their youth development programs. It has been a huge success. We also have given to such things as The South Portland Food Cupboard, The SoPo Skate Park, local soccer scholarships, shoe donations, etc. SINCE 2016 WE HAVE DONATED OVER $120K BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY!!! I would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support, as their donations pay for the cost of the race so that your registration fees go directly to the kids! Join us the day after Thanksgiving for our annual Turkey Trot 5k Road Race. The race will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday, November 27th, 2028. Check in/registration will begin at 7:15 AM. This season’s event has a minimum donation of $25 per person ($10 for ages 12 and under) All participants must register online in advance. The Mile Light Ice Run starts in downtown Greenville, Maine, and heads out across frozen Moosehead Lake toward the iconic Mile Light before turning south and returning to town. Locals know that enjoying Moosehead Lake doesn’t end with summer. We’re adding this race to our event lineup to share the vast beauty of our home in every season. Think wide-open views, fresh winter air, and running without the sand, salt, and mud of roadside miles. In March, warmer days and cold nights can create a remarkable running surface. The sun softens the winter snowpack, while overnight temperatures freeze it back into a firm, packed surface. Course conditions will depend on the weather, and sections will be groomed as needed to improve the running experience.
