Step Out of the Slump: 5K for Mental Wellness.

Arlington, HI
Sometimes taking the first step feels impossible—like carrying a weight no one else can see. You wake up tired, unmotivated, and stuck in the same loop of exhaustion. But movement changes things. Fresh air and footsteps can clear the fog and pull you back into yourself. Step Out of the Slump 5K is a virtual race designed to help you move through the heaviness instead of sitting in it. Our message is simple: Take one step forward—your mind will follow. Exercise has a powerful impact on mental health. Research shows that physical activity can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by 30–47% (Harvard Medical School). Experts explain that regular movement improves mood, sleep quality, and emotional resilience (American Psychological Association). This isn’t about speed. There are no medals, no competition, no pressure. Just movement, breath, and progress—one step at a time. Register, walk or run from any location, and upload a screenshot of your time or distance to complete the challeng
