Enjoy autumn at the U.S. National Arboretum during FONA's Fall 5K. This run or walk will take you past garden collections brightly colored with fall foliage, over tree-lined rolling hills, and along streams winding their way to the Anacostia River.  This race is not only scenic, but also safe and secure. All roads are closed to cars during this race so you can safely enjoy running or walking through this 451-acre urban green space. A professional race announcer will call out runners as they cross the finish line and there will be music before and after the event to get you in the groove.  Strollers and dogs are welcome, but dogs must stay on a 6' non-retractable leash.

TENAX is more than a race—it is a complete test of endurance, strength and resilience. Participants will complete a three-mile-or-more course connecting three Navy Yard fitness partners: Rev’d, BOOMBOX and Invictus. The Horace Mann PTA is hosting its 6th annual Great Turkey Chase 5K & Fun Run, and we are so excited! This is one of the few opportunities we have during the school year where we can come together as a community - families, teachers, and neighbors - to celebrate our amazing school and faculty, as well as have a great time!  Why are we running? Over 75% of the PTA’s fundraising dollars go towards the salaries of many of our partner teachers and specialists – funds that are not provided by DCPS. Start your morning on the Anacostia Tidal Marsh as we kick-off the second annual Two Rivers Turkey Trot! The route will run through the back nine of the Langston Golf Course, a hidden gem and arguably the most beautiful area in DC. Organized by a group of volunteers, proceeds support the Two Rivers Public Charter School. Your support helps ensure that students at Two Rivers continue to access exciting, rigorous, and joyful hands-on learning experiences, arts integration, and community connections. IMPORTANT NOTES: Registration Fees: Registration is $25 per adult, $15 per child (discount shown at check-out). Course Notes: The course distances are approximate and timing services are not available. The 3K course surface includes grass, gravel, and pavement. Running strollers with big wheels are allowed. Other strollers may work on the gravel and pavement 1K course surface. Participants may park strollers and bicycles near the start. Food Drive: Please bring one non-perishable food item per registrant to support our food drive for a local organization. The Al Lewis 10 Miler is one of Washington's long-standing and traditional road races. This race is named in honor of Al Lewis, a leader of the Health's Angels running club at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This year the walk will be held in three separate locations. Washington DC will be the first event of the year and that event will be on April 18th. The second walk will be held along the Macomb Orchard Trail in Richmond Michigan on May 2nd. The third and final walk will be in Holland Michigan starting at the beautiful Holland State Park Beach. We are so honored to partner with our family, friends, and neighbors to stand together in this fight that many of our veterans battle alone. Join us in 1 or all 3 events and help us save lives. The DC walk will start at the Lincoln Memorial and follow the multi purpose trails to the Nation's Capital and back. Each lap is a 5 mile trek.

Walking Warriors are committed to end breast cancer. We fund research to improve treatment, investigate and prevent breast cancer and provide assistance to those living with breast cancer in Maryland, DC and Virginia. We run, walk, and celebrate in honor of the memory of Tricia Davis who was committed to combating housing insecurity and turned this commitment towards the establishment and longevity of Sinai House. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Sinai House, a residential social service program in Washington, DC, in its mission to enable families to move from homelessness towards self-sufficiency by providing safe and affordable housing, comprehensive social services and financial support. The Kitchel Injury Law Capitol Hill Classic is an annual 10K, 3K and Fun Race—the only race run exclusively on the roads of Capitol Hill. Funds raised through the event benefit the Capitol Hill Cluster School, a DC public school serving over 1,100 students. The race started in 1980, and the 10K is the oldest and biggest in Washington, DC. The 10K starts out in front of Peabody Primary School, just a few blocks from the US Capitol. Runners traverse Capitol Hill, passing Stanton Park, the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, Lincoln Park, the RFK stadium campus, and the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. The 3K course also begins at Peabody Primary School. Runners head to East Capitol Street and trek to Lincoln Park and back. The Fun Run is a single lap around Stanton Park (approximately a third of a mile).
