The Trick-or-Trot Fun Run begins on October 24th at 2:00 pm, with registration open in-person from 1:30 pm until the races begin. Registration is FREE. Bring your friends and family! The race is located at 1170 E. Palmer-Moose Creek Road (Palmer-Moose Dr.), Palmer, AK 99645, behind the building at the Cross Country Trails. Please park in the front Palmer High School parking lot, and signs will direct you further. The event will be behind the school, in the practice field next to the football field! Events include a 5k, 1k, Diaper Dash, costume contest, and a raffle! Raffle tickets will be $1 each or 25 tickets for $20, available for purchase at the race. Winners will be revealed after the races and contest have concluded. During races, candy will be tossed to runners all over the course. Photographer(s) will be present at the race to take pictures of our runners and costume contest participants! Please wear a costume and add to the fun! Run for a cause! This race raises funds for CCS Early Learning, an organization dedicated to early childhood education and family services. Join the Flow Through the Snow Challenge, a winter mileage challenge for ConocoPhillips workers inspired by the routes of the TAPS, APL, and KPL pipelines. From mid-November through mid-January, participants can log miles through walking, running, biking, skiing, swimming, or other mileage-based activities as we virtually follow Alaska’s pipeline corridors together. We will be hosting a 1-mile (~1.4 mile - lap around the lake) and a new 5K fun run. The 1-mile fun run will begin at Ward Lake at 9am and the 5K will follow at approximately 9:30am. Seward Parks & Recreation is excited to announce we are teaming up with the Seward Running Club for the annual Turkey Trot! The race is an out-and-back style trail race. Starting at the Tonsina Trailhead, runners will dash down the trail all the way to the pavilion on Tonsina Point and back. The race is approximately 4.4 miles long.  Race bibs may be picked up either the day prior at Sports and Recreations front desk located at 519 4th Avenue, or before the race starts starting at 9:30am. The race will start at 10am. This is a multi-sport, multi-distance winter challenge with the goal to log as many miles as you can over 3 months starting the first day of winter, December 21st, 2025 and ending the last day of winter, March 20th, 2026. The First Howl: Trails & Nog is everything you could hope for in a winter trail party...snowy trail loops, a book hunt, and a bit of eggnog to top off the festivities!    The Details TRAILS: Runners will have 4 hours to complete 3 separate loops on the Crevasse Moraine trail system. There will be a 5 mile, 3 mile, and 1 mile loop. At bib pick up, each runner will spin the wheel to determine the order of their loops. At the halfway point of each loop, runners must find a hidden book and tear out the page that matches their bib number (Barkley style) and return their page to the RD at the completion of that loop. The first M/F runners to complete all 3 loops and turn in their 3 pages will be the winner. About This Event: Every year it seems, we wait til race week to see what Mother Nature brings us for conditions.. but she usually gives us something to work with! Who's ready to play in 2027 and take on the challenge? :-) The winter triathlon format includes a run, snow bike and ski. All on snow, and all based in the main race stadium of the world class nordic center of Kincaid Park. Putting on a multi-sport event takes a lot of planning, forethought and investment. The registration numbers are the key to our organizing the best event we are capable of and the most fun for you. We understand waiting til race week to see what the course will be like, just know that the price goes up a couple weeks out. Once you register, there are no refunds offered. If the event must be cancelled due to issues beyond our control (be nice, mother nature!), we will offer all registered participants a deferral to either the 2027 Hammerman or the 2028 Tri Flake. COURSE BASICS: Race start time is NOON, plan to arrive early enough to get all set up and checked in. The run is an out and back of 6K on the scenic Coastal Trail. The bike will take advantage of the multi-use trail along Raspberry Road, as well as some of the STA single track trails throughout Kincaid for a two lap course of around 13K. The ski will be freestyle format and utilize some of the nordic ski trails in Kincaid Park for a 2 lap course of around 6K. The finish will be in the stadium in front of the timing shack. There will be both solo and 2-3 person team options. We also offer a $5 discount to all active & retired military personnel (Thank You!), as well as all ATC members that are paid for 2027. Shake off winter and charge into spring at the Eklutna Lake IceBreaker Run, a lakeside trail race that delivers all the beauty, and all the chaos, of Alaska in March. Set along the frozen shoreline of Eklutna Lake, this out-and-back adventure offers 10-mile and 20-mile courses on one of Chugach State Park’s most scenic corridors.   Runners will stride (or crunch, or slide) across the lakeside trail as it winds alongside the frozen water of Eklutna Lake. And since we all know March in Alaska refuses to pick a season, you can expect a full sampler of winter conditions: packed snow, punchy snow, ice sheets, mashed-potato mush, muddy patches, unexpected sunshine, maybe even that perfect “winter glow” light that makes you forget your toes are cold for exactly half a second. This is an untimed triathlon in Nikiski. The adult triathlon/relay team: 500yd swim. 10.6 mile bike. 5k run. For the adult relay you will have two options; the first is a 3 person relay, $50 each participant. Or a 2 person relay, $50 each.  You will be able to join a team or create a new one. There is not a team option for the kids triathlon. Kids triathlon: For the kids triathlon we will have a Short Course and a Long Course. Short course 1 lap swim. <2 mile bike ride. <1 mile run.  Long Course 2 lap swim. <2 mile bike ride. <1 mile run.  Kids will also have the option to start their swim on the water slide, however, their overall triathlon time won’t begin until they hit the water at the bottom of the slide. Our running event courses traverse the world-famous Copper River delta, a land of mountains, glaciers, and blue water rivers and lakes. For each distance event (except the One Mile), runners meet at race HQ and are driven on shuttle buses to the start line for their race.  The race courses are mostly flat (we're at sea level), and follow the old Copper River and Northwestern Railroad route which led to the Kennicott copper mines. We also offer a post-run Salmon BBQ lunch, get your tickets here! Lunch includes salmon, side dishes, dessert and door prizes. The Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon is a summer half marathon trail race hosted by the Alaska Flour Company in Delta Junction, Alaska. The course starts near the Alaska Flour Company barley mill and follows a mix of gravel roads & dirt trails around a loop through Delta's beautiful agricultural lands. There are NO paved roads! While the course is relatively flat with only a few minor hills, this is a trail race so expect uneven terrain and perhaps a few muddy spots, along with some classic Delta wind gusts that may both help and hinder your pace depending on the wind direction. Several long straightaways allow runners to focus on their paces as they pass by fields of barley and fireweed, as long as they don't get distracted by the nonstop views of the mountains! The race is open to everyone ages 10 and up. All participants aged 19 and younger on race day receive a youth discount of $15 off the full adult entry fee. Walkers are welcome! Race Judicata is a fun-run where the legal community comes together to support the Anchorage Youth Court! Race Judicata is an annual 5k run/walk organized by the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Anchorage Bar Association with proceeds benefitting the Anchorage Youth Court. The course begins at Margaret Eagan Sullivan Park (Westchester Lagoon) and goes northward up the coast trail. The entry fee is $50 and includes a t-shirt. YLS will have drinks and snacks. This is a family friendly event, but please leave your furry friends at home. Kids under 10 are free, but donations are encouraged. Thank you for participating in the 12th annual Running Free community race! The Running Free 4 Miler is an out-and-back course from Eagle River High School to Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, with a loop around the facility on the security road before heading back to ERHS. The runners from our inside program will cheer you on from the yard and will staff the aid station. If you can't join us in person this year, you can compete virtually. The virtual event is 4 miles, just like the in-person event. But you can earn the "Run Like Sarah" award by completing the most 4-mile "laps" of anyone in the virtual event. If you want to "Run Like Sarah," you are able to upload as many 4-mile laps as you can complete during the virtual event period. Results will be ranked on the number of laps completed, then by time as the tie breaker.
