The 22nd Annual RUN FOR THE ROSE 5K & Family 1K DATE:  Sunday, April 12, 2026 LOCATION: Helix Park in the Texas Medical Center The race supports brain cancer research and pediatric initiatives, recognizes brain tumor survivors, and remembers loved ones lost to this devastating disease. Race-day activities include a 5K Run, 5K Walk, Family 1K, Survivor Stroll for brain tumor patients, and a lively post-race party for all participants. 5K Run participants are eligible to win awards, given to overall top male and female participants, and those who finish first in age-specific categories. Children receive medals. This is a certified race.

Howdy Ya'll, Welcome to Texas!!! The Texas Draft-Legal Cup is a USAT Junior National Series race weekend! Headlined on Sunday, April 12th by the top 300 Youth and Junior Draft-Legal triathletes in the USA. There will be an event on Sunday Mid-day for Kids ages 6-15 (non-drafting). We look forward to hosting everyone at this fun and fast race in Fort Worth, Texas!

The San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Game, presented by Valero, has served as a celebration of success of boys and girls basketball careers. This new game only in its third year has of more than 120 players from over 60 area high schools will take place Sunday, April 12 at the Northside ISD Sports Gymnasium, located at 8400 N. Loop 1604. It is televised locally on KSAT12. We are excited to official bring on Valero as the title sponsor for this event!   There will be four games total and each session will include a girls’ and boys’ game. The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Hidalgo County is to advocate for the best interests of children in the foster care system by promoting and supporting quality volunteer representation—ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, permanent, and nurturing home. In Hidalgo County, the need for CASA is significant. During fiscal year 2024–2025, 2,086 children experienced foster care. CASA volunteers served 246 children, representing only 8.5% of those who needed a dedicated voice in court. With community support, we can reach more children who deserve advocacy and stability. The 15th Annual Glow Blue for CASA 5K Fun Run/Walk is an evening event held in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. The Unbound Now Light Up The Dark 5K Presented by Chick Fil A is a fun, family-friendly “glow-in-the-dark” run to raise money and awareness for the anti-human trafficking work of Unbound. This annual event is fun for everyone, whether you’re a slow walker or a professional runner! This year, we are offering in-person and virtual options to participants to fight human trafficking in Waco, Texas, and around the world. Build a team, set a goal, and raise funds on the side to end human trafficking!  IN-PERSON: Join us at Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas on April 18, 2026, for a night of fun and wild experiences. Our Plano Pacers Hall of Fame Run 3K, 8K and Kids K will be held April 18th at 8AM at Windhaven Meadows Park. The Kids K should start at about 9:00AM after the 8K. Our club will induct new members into the Pacer Hall of Fame during the awards presentation. These honorees have been involved in the continued success of the club that is over 40 years old. Please visit the website homepage and look in the "Club" tab to find the bios of the current Pacer Hall Of Fame members. Members with chips do not need to check in or register online, just bring your chip to the event and run. 2nd Annual Dr. Abram Estrada Legacy 5k Run/Walk Dr. Abram Estrada, a dedicated educator and beloved family man, earned his Doctorate degree from Grand Canyon University. He was a proud husband to Ellie Estrada, father to two daughters, Adanai Estrada and Abrie Estrada, son to Maria Estrada and a loving brother to his three siblings: Joe, Abel, and Arrian Estrada. Dr. Estrada’s passion for education and his community was evident in his impactful roles as Superintendent at Santa Rosa ISD and Principal at Kennedy Middle School. He was deeply respected by colleagues and students alike for his unwavering commitment to fostering growth and learning. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Estrada was a devoted UT Longhorn fan, cheering on his team with enthusiasm and pride.
