Welcome to the 22nd Annual Run at the Rock!  Since 2005, trail runners from across the region have challenged themselves on the beautiful and demanding trails of Cedarock Park.  Run 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon on awesome courses that include twisty single-track and smooth, flowing equestrian trails. After finishing the race, don your race hoodie (included with registration) and enjoy hot soup, great music, a free kids race, and a fun awards ceremony with lots of giveaways.  Cedarock Park is located in Burlington, NC and is an easy drive from Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem.  See you in December for an awesome day of trail running action.

Join us on December 12th along the Cape Fear River Trail (paved trail) for a fun and festive morning! We want to flood the day with running Santas, walking Santas, Santa Paws, and little Santas! This is a non-competitive, non-timed event, meant to bring a little fun to the holiday season! All paces are welcome, as well as strollers. Pets are welcome and encouraged! We don't have any Santa suits for the pups, but we would love to see them dressed up, too! We have added the "1-mile" walk/run/shuffle option as well. Registration is the same for both distance options. We will have turnaround points marked for both the 1-mile route and the 5K route. You decide which distance you would like to complete! The North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) proudly presents the Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). The NCSHP, through their involvement with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics North Carolina, will host the second ever community fundraising event to feature a 5K run and 1.5-mile fun run at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. All participants will have the unique opportunity to run on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track in support of nearly 53,000 registered SONC athletes and Unified partners. The Open House Youth Shelter is committed to improving the safety and well-being of displaced abused, neglected and vulnerable youth. Children and adolescents ages 6-18 who are in need of a safe place to stay can receive shelter in the 24-hour, 9-bed facility. Open House does more than just meet youths' basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Personal growth is encouraged through counseling services, vocational/educational opportunities, life skill building, and recreational activities. All confidential services are provided at no cost to youth and their families, and continue for a period of three months after discharge, to maximize the success of the family reunification plan.

Reindeer Run 5K – Run, Celebrate, and Make a Difference! The Reindeer Run 5K is one of Pittsboro’s favorite holiday traditions! This family-friendly event brings together runners, walkers, families, and community members while raising funds for the Chatham County Partnership for Children’s Physical Activity Grant Program, which helps create more opportunities for people of all ages to stay active and healthy throughout Chatham County. The Chatham County Partnership for Children proudly supports families with children under the age of five through direct family services, coaching and technical assistance for child care providers, and programs that promote healthy family activities across our community. While portions of the race on the Central Carolina Community College campus may look different from previous years, runners will still enjoy the familiar downtown Pittsboro section, a favorite part of the Reindeer Run experience. The course will continue to begin and end at Central Carolina Community College and provide the same festive atmosphere that participants have come to expect. The Jingle Bell LEAP is an out-and-back 5K Run/Walk beginning at mile 0 of the American Tobacco Trail at Morehead Ave and Blackwell St. This event supports the Latino Educational Achievement Partnership which provides quality bilingual pre-K education and tutoring to elementary and middle school students. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the LEAP School on Friday, Dec. 11 from 4:30-6:30pm. Race day registration and check-in begins at the start area at 7:45am, and the run/walk begins at 9:00am. Street parking is available on Blackwell St. and in the lots off Jackie Robinson Blvd (next to Mellow Mushroom). Water station on course. Bagels and bananas at start and finish. This event benefits the GFC Strike Eagles youth travel soccer program and helps support affordable, equitable access to competitive soccer opportunities for local athletes. Funds raised help offset player expenses, support club programming, and ensure more children can participate regardless of financial circumstances. Why participate? The Four Mile will start and finish at The Rocky Mount Mills, and take runners on a scenic view of Rocky Mount's Battle Park. This park runs parallel to the Tar River, and shortly before the halfway point, crosses the river over what was once the longest wooden suspension bridge in the US. ​The 1.5 Mile Fun Run and Walk will start with the Four Mile race and will turn around shortly after entering the park. This shorter distance is perfect for young participants, or participants who require walking.

The Town of Troutman Jingle Run 5k is festive and family-friendly! The run takes place on Sunday, December 13, 2026 @ 3pm and will run through the Town of Troutman, starting at Troutman Town Hall. The Jingle Jog 5K and Santa Strut has been a Triad holiday tradition since it began in 2015. Originating in High Point, the race has now relocated to Winston-Salem, and we are bringing ALL the fun on this festive holiday run! The 5K race will begin at Fiddlin' Fish Brewing, continuing along Long Branch paved trail, and returning along the Research Parkway corridor on the edge of downtown. The (untimed) Santa Strut will be a one loop course (0.8 miles) where family, friends, and pups can strut their stuff! The post-race celebrations for BOTH events are at Fiddlin' Fish Brewing, just a quick walk from the start/finish line. Participants in the 5K enjoy a chip timed event complete with awards for top finishers! You are welcome to run, jog, or walk either distance. Come on out to Raven Rock State Park the first Sunday of the year. We'll have good trails, people, and food to get the year started right! Parking is limited at this event so sign up quick and carpool if you can. (Participants can only park in the paved lot by the big picnic shelter or the adjacent dirt lot.) Winter 2027 Advanced Youth Run TUESDAYS training in Apex is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs. Class is 8 weeks long, meeting once per week, and is geared toward kids aged 10-15 years old who have prior running experience and are capable of running 2 miles non-stop (at any pace). Please note that this is an Advanced Class and not appropriate for beginner runners. The goal of the class is to have fun, get healthy, and work on running speed and overall conditioning. Class will be capped at 30 registrants. Cost of the class is $75. No refund and no deferral if you drop out of the class after registering. Please do not register if you're unsure of your child's schedule and have a potential conflict with another activity. Cost includes: 8 weeks of 1 coached workout per week, a season training plan with suggested workouts on non-class days as well, 20% off discount at Pace Yourself Run Company (some restrictions apply), educational information coordinated by The Running PTs, and a training shirt.
