Be The One Run

Broadway, NC
The Be The One race is a family - friendly event created to bring the community together in support of our veterans and those struggling around us. What began as a passion to serve our nation has grown into a space where neighbors, friends, and families can unite to honor the lives of veterans, share their stories, and remember those who lost their battle to suicide.  Suicide is a major - yet preventable - crisis in the United States, with a devastating impact on the veteran community. Veterans comprise nearly a quarter of suicide deaths nationwide. It is estimated that between 17 and 22 veterans or service members take their lives each day. These are not just statistics - they represent fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, and friends.  This event is more than a race - it's a community experience. Participants are encouraged to check in on one another, strengthen bonds, and build new friendships while celebrating the courage and sacrifice of U.S. service members and veterans. By com

Adopt Don't Stop 5K!

Burlington, NC
Our family’s story is rooted in faith, obedience, and the beautiful gift of adoption. Recently, God forever changed our lives when we welcomed our daughter into our family through adoption. She is a daily reminder that family is not defined by biology, but by love and God’s perfect design. Becoming her parents has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives and has deepened our desire to care for children who need loving, permanent homes. Throughout our first adoption journey, our community and church family were an essential part of what God was doing. We were carried by prayers, encouragement, generosity, and unwavering support. In moments of uncertainty, we were encouraged by the family of God and reminded of God’s goodness and how he has cared for us. We truly could not have walked this road alone, and we are deeply grateful for a community that reflected Christ’s love so faithfully. Through continued prayer and discernment—we now feel God calling us to pursue adoption once aga

Stoked To Go Out ®

Wrightsville Beach, NC
13TH ANNUAL GREY LISTON MEMORIAL PIER TO PIER OPEN WATER SWIM / STOKED TO GO OUT! Stoked (adjective) – slang Being in an enthusiastic or exhilarated state The annual Stoked To Go Out (STGO) open water swim is exactly that – a gathering of outdoor enthusiasts, exhilarated to get out there, charge it, take the bull by the horns, meet the challenge head-on, commit, and take the literal plunge.  Inspired by the life and legacy of Grey Liston, the STGO open water swim takes participants 1.7 miles from pier-to-pier in the Atlantic Ocean, off the picturesque coast of Wrightsville Beach, NC. And, since all STGO proceeds benefit the UNCW Grey Liston Scholarship in Athletics Endowment fund, not only does this event honor the spirit of Grey and drive our mission to battle complacency in life, it also allows for us all to enable the education and participation of future swimmers and divers.
