This is a brand new event from Stubborn Donkey Running! We are excited to team up with the city of Weldon & Weldon Mills Distillery to bring you a well crafted 24 hour event this December! Come celebrate the end of Prohibition, decide your proof, and how you’ll age on the trail! This is your chance to put your Stubborn Spirit on display while running on the historic Roanoke Canal Trail! All distances will get a medal, 100 mile runners will earn a specially crafted buckle. The course consists of a flat 4.2 mile out and back with mixed terrain that is primarily dirt path. The loop will begin and end in the River Falls Park where there will be ample space for runners to set up their tents along the course with adjacent parking and portajohns on site. Our Annual Randolph County Young Life 5K is here! Kickstart your morning with a 5k run through downtown Asheboro on Saturday, December 5th, 2026! Join Twin Lakes Community as we celebrate 20 years of Lanes of Light! Choose your Christmas Adventure - take the Elf Express (follow the Elf signs) or the Reindeer Route (follow the reindeer signs)! The Elf Express is a merry mile for everyone; making a loop around the main roads of Twin Lakes. For those of you who want to go a little further with Santa's favorite team, choose the Reindeer Route which will cover both sides of the Twin Lakes campus. Race/walk/roll and stroll through our annual holiday light display. Along with the light display, prepare to meet the residents who call this place home. Many of them will be cheering and serenading you with holiday song from the sidelines as you make your way through the course. The event will be held Sunday, December 6 beginning at 4:30 p.m. We recommend arriving between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm in order to park and get to starting area. The official run/walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp. No late comers. The event wrap-up will include cookies, hot chocolate, and a visit from the big guy himself. Plan to be off the course by 7:00 p.m. Please register and place T-shirt orders by October 30 to guarantee your specific size. Proceeds and collected donations will be distributed evenly between our local Meals on Wheels program and the Salvation Army. You’ve got questions, we’ve got some answers. Winter 2026/2027 Adult Run + Strength Training in Cary is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs. The class is 12 weeks long and is geared toward helping adults get/stay active with run workouts incorporating strength training. This class is great for beginners as well as seasoned runners. All levels and paces are welcome! The class will include a detailed daily plan over the 12 weeks, with 2 coached group runs per week, suggested cross-training & strength training workouts, and Saturday group long runs. Cost of the class is: $75 if you register by 11/29. Price increases to: $80 if you register 11/30 - 12/20. Deadline to register is: 12/20. When the weather turns chilly, the critters quit crawling and your usual hardtop running routes are getting a bit tired and boring......its time to veer off the road and kick up some dirt on the trail!  It's time for The Third Annual Dirty Santa Trail Run!   This 5 mile race is the fifth and final event in The Foothills Run Series Presented By UNC Ortho.     The course starts / finishes at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex and is made up of almost 3 miles of single track trail (Zack's Fork Mountain Bike Trail), nearly 1.4 miles of natural field / gravel trail and around .6 mile of hardtop just for some variety! *Early Packet Pickup:  Friday (12/12)  - 5:30pm - 7:30pm Liquid Roots Brewing (1048 Harper Ave, Lenoir, NC) Race Day Schedule (12/13): 7:30am - Race Day Registration / Packet Pick-Up Opens 8:45am - Race Day Registration / Packet Pick-Up Ends 9:00am - Start Of The Third Annual Dirty Santa Trail Run Enjoy some post race snacks featuring a Smores Station and Hot Cocoa!
