The Old Saybrook - Westbrook Exchange Club and the Greater Old Saybrook Chamber partner together annually to raise money for The Exchange Clubs A.C.E. (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) Award and the Greater Old Saybrook Chamber C. Wilfred Hunter Memorial Scholarship for deserving college bound seniors from Old Saybrook and Westbrook High Schools. Unite to Fight! Childhood Hunger 5K Run/Walk   Join Filling in the Blanks on August 23, 2026, at the Eighth Annual Unite to Fight 5K. The race will take place at Mill River Park located in Stamford, CT.    In Fairfield County, more than 33,000 children are not sure where their next meal will come from. Most will get breakfast and lunch from school every weekday, but many will go from Friday lunch until Monday at breakfast without a decent meal. Founded in 2013, Filling in the Blanks is an organization that fills in those weekend gaps by providing each child in its program with a bag filled with healthy, easy-to-prepare food for the weekend.  When the obstacle of food insecurity is removed, children experience increased academic achievement in school and greater opportunities for success in their lives. The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Groton Utilities present the annual Groton City Brew Run!  This is a 5K run and walk at Eastern Point Beach in Groton, followed by a brewfest, music, and food.  Runners and walkers welcome.  Single mass start for runners and walkers. Bound for the Sound is 5k and 10k road race in Old Lyme, CT. Both courses start at popular Sound View Beach in Old Lyme, CT. The 10K is mostly flat with some gently rolling hills. The 5K is very flat and very fast. Both races finish down historic Hartford Avenue facing the beach. Post race food and drink is included in your race entry.  The 10K course is USATF certified (CT25015JHP) and will serve as the USATF-CT 10K State Championship for both 2025 and 2026, concluding the USATF-CT Road Grand Prix series. ARC RUN 2026 Please join us for our largest fundraiser of the year to support our mission and community impact! The Arc Run 2026 includes two on-site races on September 19, 2026, as well as a virtual race spanning August 19 - September 19.  The on-site 5K and 10K races utilize our USATF-certified course beginning and ending at 200 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT. For us, our course passes through portions of Meriden and Wallingford to emphasize our deep roots and decades of service to both communities. Where the Pavement Ends Trail Races are set for Sunday, September 20, 2026                             You can do one loop of the course or do two loops for a “Pavement Double”!   The race starts and ends at Lake Windwing ballfields in Ridgefield, CT. The 4.25-mile course (single loop) begins at 7:30 AM, and the 8-miler (approximate double loop) begins at 7:00 AM. The course runs through the Hemlock Hills/Pine Mountain open space areas. It's technical, rocky, and sublime. If you are not an experienced trail runner, we recommend choosing the 4.25-mile course.   This race is part of the Trail Mix Series—Westchester-Fairfield Trail Mix Series: a series of seven trail races. The results from all the races are combined to determine a series winner and award special prizes.

Choose between a 4 or 9 mile trail race in the Cockaponsett State Forest in Chester, CT.  The 4 miler is the first part of the 9 mile course. The course consists of roots, rocks, muddy sections and several hills. The first 1/2 mile is on a road which helps spread the runners out prior to the start of the trails.   Water stations are at miles 2, 4, 6 and 7.   NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.  Bib pick up opens at 8 am.  Race starts at 9 am.   Please note if you have out of state plates, the park requires you to pay a parking fee. Run/Walk To Save a Life is in honor of Christopher Andreozzi who passed away suddenly from sudden cardiac death caused by an arrhythmia on May 23, 2023. Christopher (Chris) was a lifelong resident of Hamden who graduated from Hamden High School, Trinity College, and Yale University.  Chris was a devoted psychiatric APRN at Yale New Haven Hospital and Turnbridge.  He was passionate about the care of his patients and believed that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. Proceeds from this event will benefit the CJA Charitable Foundation, Inc. All donations to the CJA Charitable Foundation, Inc. go directly toward furthering the Foundation’s mission of honoring the life and legacy of Christoper.  The Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and arrhythmias while equipping individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools to respond to cardiac emergencies.
