2026 Unite to Fight 5K Run/Walk

Unite to Fight! Childhood Hunger 5K Run/Walk   Join Filling in the Blanks on August 23, 2026, at the Eighth Annual Unite to Fight 5K. The race will take place at Mill River Park located in Stamford, CT.    In Fairfield County, more than 33,000 children are not sure where their next meal will come from. Most will get breakfast and lunch from school every weekday, but many will go from Friday lunch until Monday at breakfast without a decent meal. Founded in 2013, Filling in the Blanks is an organization that fills in those weekend gaps by providing each child in its program with a bag filled with healthy, easy-to-prepare food for the weekend.  When the obstacle of food insecurity is removed, children experience increased academic achievement in school and greater opportunities for success in their lives. Where the Pavement Ends Single & Double Loop

Where the Pavement Ends Trail Races are set for Sunday, September 20, 2026                             You can do one loop of the course or do two loops for a “Pavement Double”!   The race starts and ends at Lake Windwing ballfields in Ridgefield, CT. The 4.25-mile course (single loop) begins at 7:30 AM, and the 8-miler (approximate double loop) begins at 7:00 AM. The course runs through the Hemlock Hills/Pine Mountain open space areas. It's technical, rocky, and sublime. If you are not an experienced trail runner, we recommend choosing the 4.25-mile course.   This race is part of the Trail Mix Series—Westchester-Fairfield Trail Mix Series: a series of seven trail races. Cockaponsett Trails to a Cure

Choose between a 4 or 9 mile trail race in the Cockaponsett State Forest in Chester, CT.  The 4 miler is the first part of the 9 mile course. The course consists of roots, rocks, muddy sections and several hills. The first 1/2 mile is on a road which helps spread the runners out prior to the start of the trails.   Water stations are at miles 2, 4, 6 and 7.   NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.  Bib pick up opens at 8 am.  Race starts at 9 am.   Please note if you have out of state plates, the park requires you to pay a parking fee. Choose from a scenic 5 mile, 5k, or Children's Sap fun run through the hayfields and byways of New Pond Farm, all finishing with a rollicking family-friendly Oktoberfest celebration. Races benefit New Pond Farm Education center, a nonprofit dairy farm of distinction and environmental education center. We educate and inspire each generation to become stewards of the land by championing conservation and sustainable farming practices to protect and preserve our natural world. The 5 mile race features gentle hills along rolling pastures, with waterfall views as you pass the Mark Twain Library, and finishes with a dash through our dairy barn. Run/Walk To Save a Life is in honor of Christopher Andreozzi who passed away suddenly from sudden cardiac death caused by an arrhythmia on May 23, 2023. Christopher (Chris) was a lifelong resident of Hamden who graduated from Hamden High School, Trinity College, and Yale University.  Chris was a devoted psychiatric APRN at Yale New Haven Hospital and Turnbridge.  He was passionate about the care of his patients and believed that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. Proceeds from this event will benefit the CJA Charitable Foundation, Inc. All donations to the CJA Charitable Foundation, Inc. go directly toward furthering the Foundation’s mission of honoring the life and legacy of Christoper.  The Foundation is dedicated to raising awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) and arrhythmias while equipping individuals and communities with the knowledge and tools to respond to cardiac emergencies. Moosup Valley 5k, 8K and 10K All Trail Race
