ABOUT THE EVENT Pulse Walk: Penny Per Step Challenge is a community 5K you can complete in person in Huntsville, Alabama, or virtually from anywhere around the world. Presented by the Griffin Leukemia Foundation, Inc., this event raises awareness for leukemia and other cancers while supporting programs that help cancer survivors rebuild strength, confidence, and purpose after treatment. Pulse Walk is a different kind of competition. It includes a non-competitive, inclusive walk designed for all ages and abilities. This is not a timed race. Participants are encouraged to walk at their own pace and take part in whatever way is meaningful to them. The race starts in a beautiful valley with picturesque mountains and fields in the background. Once runners get to the 1.9 mile mark they will enter the crown jewel of caves in the Southeast. The portion of the 5k course that runs through the cave is an out and back 0.6mi that is wide enough for 2 way traffic. Runners will pick up a glow stick at the turn around point and the decorative lighting will be on at all times. The average temperatures for race day are a low of 54F, high of 79F. Meanwhile inside the cave the year round temperature is a cool 58F. This will truly be a race like no other. “Racin’ the Station” Duathlon is a non-sanctioned USAT Run/Bike/Run event where theparticipants will “race” the International Space Station (ISS) as it completes one Earthorbit—91 minutes & 12 seconds. Marshall Space Flight Center will track the startinglocation of the ISS at the race start time and see who “beats” the Space Station bycompleting the event before the 91-minute & 12-second mark. The "race" is across the 383 feet (0.12k) of the Butler Green at Campus 805 in downtown Huntsville. Since 2014, Pink Lady Walk has hosted an annual 5K Run/Walk to raise awareness and provide direct financial support to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer. Our mission is simple: to help alleviate some of the financial burdens caused by this devastating disease. Join us October 24, 2026 to raise money for the Hoover High School Choir Program at the second annual Melody Miles 5K Run. Melody Miles 5K is a fundraising event for the Hoover High School Choir Department. This event will begin and end at HHS and have live musical performances along the way. The 18th annual Freaky Friday 8K takes place on a scenic yet scary course during the darkness.  There will be a post-race awards ceremony complete with food and drinks at Dreamland Barbecue along with a costume contest prior to the start of the run.  Local radio stations and craft beer will also be on hand for registered runners. Foundations For Hope 5K- October 31, 2026  8am-10am Chipped Time Event Run or Walk 5K Fun For All Jerry Can 5K Relay- will be a (3) person relay with both men's teams and women's teams welcome. Each team will run/walk the 5K with a Jerry can provided by Foundations 4 Hope. The Jerry can will be filled with 5 Gallons (42lbs) of water for men teams and 3 Gallons (25lbs) of water for women teams. Time results end when the last person of each team crosses the finish line. Each team will sign up for the race as single entry but will be responsible for forming their own (3) person teams. This race is put on by the Knights of Columbus Council 10232 and Council 17519 of Madison. 100% of the proceeds goes to Madison City Schools. This is part of a nationwide campaign put on by the Knights of Columbus.   Since we support the whole of Madison City Schools, the race begins and ends at the Madison City Stadium next to the Madison City Schools admin building and runs through downtown Madison. 2026 Huntsville Half Marathon Join us for the 48th Annual Huntsville Half Marathon, sponsored by Fleet Feet Huntsville/Madison and presented by the Huntsville Track Club! The race starts at 8 a.m., Nov. 14, at Hillwood Baptist Church, 300 Kohler Road, Huntsville, AL. This flat and fast course through South Huntsville is perfect for first-time half marathoners, PR attempts, and as training for the Rocket City Marathon.   Aid stations with water, powerade, Gu, bananas and porta-potties will be provided every 2 miles. We're also planning entertainment along the course!   Parking at the church is limited; carpooling is encouraged. Death by 5k is coming back to Oak Mountain State Park! The first four years have been awesome so let's do it again! RunStrong Event's signature 24 hour challenge, Death by 5k requires participants to run ten 5ks, starting each 5k spaced 2.5 hours apart. The first 5k starts at 8 am, and subsequent 5ks start at 1030, 1, 330, 6, 830, 11, 130, 4, and 630 am. Participants need to be present at the start of each 5k, and have that 5k finished prior to the start of the subsequent 5k. This challenge is designed to test participants mentally and physically with physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and running in the dark.
