The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission is hosting 1 Million Steps to Safety, a 5K run/walk event held in person. This event aims to bring all road users together to celebrate Pedestrian Safety Month. The 2026 River Roux Olympic Triathlon will be held on October 10th!   River Roux features a 1.5K swim, 40K bike ride, and a 10K run in historic New Roads. The race has aquabike, duathlon, and relay divisions.  It wraps up with awards and a finish fest in the greenspace across from transition. ​ RKF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create and sustain active, fit and healthy children, families and communities through programming, advocacy and education, as an effort to fight childhood obesity through multisport events and camp scholarship and grant programs.  RKF also gives back to local schools/clubs in the cities that welcome us there, such as Boy Scouts, parish and city programs, 4-H, local schools, and more.   Entries are limited to 300 competitors.  SWIMThe swim course will be a double loop clockwise swim that begins and ends at the floating dock. The 2026 Chemin-A-Haut 4 Mile Trail Run and 1 Mile Walk will be the 10th year for the event to take place.  The event is for all that enjoy the beauty of nature. Hello everybody.          I am Gabriel and I am proud and happy to introduce to you my very first 5 K run/ walk.  This race was inspired by the struggles that mother faced with a  horrific disease called diabetes . My mother was an amazing woman who had taken care of herself and health  the best way that she could  while she was living with this disease.  However, sadly  she died last year August of 2024   due to diabetic complications . This was very traumatic for our family .         I’ve personally seen how hard it was for my mother to be able to afford her diabetic medicine when she really needed it , even with the  insurance that she had  . Having to pay for medicine while Paying bills and taking care of other house hold necessities can all be a lot to anybody. As part of our 3rd Annual Spring Fling celebration, the Calhoun Civic Club will host the Not Ya Mama's 5K race on SATURDAY, APRIL 12th, 2025. The race will begin at 8:30am and will be followed at 9:30 with a kid's only fun run. Runners will complete a circuit beginning at the Calhoun Civic Club on Calhoun Loop Road, pass along Owens, McCain Farm Road, West Ouachita Baseball Road, and complete the race by entering the West Ouachita Wellness Park to take a victory lap on the wellness park track. The kid’s run is a short loop around the Wellness Park track. The Great Pumpkin Run for Bennett 5k Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 8am Levy Park, 403 East 3rd Street, Crowley, LA 70526   We will be hosting a 5k run to benefit Bennett James Guidry, son of David and Joelle Guidry, and the INADcure Foundation. Bennett was diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD) shortly after his 3rd birthday. A portion of funds raised will help his family purchase necessary medical equipment along with making home modifications to give Bennett the best home environment. The INADCure Foundation is working diligently with scientists and researchers to develop gene therapy as a possible treatment for INAD (which currently has no treatment options). A large portion of funds raised will go directly to the INADCure Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit foundation, in support of their valiant efforts to cure this terrible, terminal disease. Founded in 1907, the 119th New Orleans Athletic Club's Turkey Day Race stands as the 5th oldest continuous race in the United States. The race begins and ends at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans City Park, featuring a 5-Mile and a Kids' Half-Mile run/walk. It has become a cherished holiday tradition for families from across the nation, with several generations returning annually to participate. Swamp Stomp Half Marathon & 1 Mile Fun Run The Lake Area Runners presents the Swamp Stomp 1/2 Marathon and the 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, December 12, 2026. The race will start and finish at Graywood Park located at: 3861 Gray Market Dr., Lake Charles, LA  70605. Run Caney is back again!  This will be a 5K, 6 mile and 12 mile loop run around beautiful Upper Caney Lake near Minden, Louisiana.  The run, set in the slight hills and oak flats of the Kisatchie National Forest; is a beautiful spot to enjoy nature at its finest.   It's not too hilly, not too rocky, and not too root laden.   It's just right! Goldilocks would love it!   This is an "Old School Style" trail run.   It's a perfect first timer's race!    THERE IS NO NEED TO PAY THE $5 USAGE FEE. Starting the new year off strong with a walk or your way back into shape.  Looking forward to another night trail run starting at 6PM through the single track mtb trail or the paved Soda lake loop route.  This is a great way to get ready for that ultra you've been training for or just want to change it up from early saturday morning start times.   Single Track MTB trail is TBD with all of the new trails being built, we just can't decide where the race route will take you yet.  Trail is typically rolling with very little roots or debris.   Soda lake loop is our beginner friendly route around 4.5 miles but paved the whole way for those unsure about footing or it being dark.  Grab your buddy and lets go! Head Lamps are recommended but a light source of some kind is mandatory in order to run the race. Working on some overall prizes and a few items to raffle off to anyone with a bib number along with a good meal to eat after you finish.

This race is an opportunity to get rid of surplus shirts and medals.  You will receive a medal, and shirt from a previous race but it'll be new, unawarded stock.  The race will be timed and a refreshment will be given to you but I don't want to spoil your dinner! We will have the race at Columbia Park. Course will be totally in the park with about 3-1 mile loops. Prices are $5 & $10.  If you choose that race you'll get no shirt and I'll donate it to Woody's Home for Veterans.
