37th Annual Prospect Park Spring Duathlon

Race Start Time and Location: On 4/11/26, NYTri is coming to Brooklyn to host our 37th Annual Spring Duathlon in Prospect Park. Prospect Park is always a special place for us because we are from Brooklyn! In 2024, we have added the entire outer park look for your second run, all 3.3 miles (5k). We are racing the same course once again this year. Your final lap of the run will be around the big loop completing all 3.3 miles, with a total of 140ft elevation gain. Be ready because the hill to the Grand Army Plaza is no joke! Here is what you can expect on race day. At 7:30 am the race will start in Lincoln Field by the triangle grass area by the Well House Dr (E Lake Dr and Lincoln Rd entrance). Run #1 beginning at 7:30 am is a fast loop around the park’s inner circle. Athletes will set out along East Dr and make a left through Center Dr, where you will cut across the park, exiting west side. With little gain in elevation you’ll head around Prospect Park Lake where you will pick up speed

2026 MHRRC Barri Donnellan Memorial Walk/Run to Benefit Angels of Light

Memorial walk/run to celebrate Barri Donnellan's life. All race proceeds will be donated to Angels of Light (501c3) who’s mission is to assist children and families living in the Hudson Valley with life threatening illnesses. The banner photo above was taken from the 2014 race at Tymor Park which Barri was volunteering  -- she was off to the left when this photo was taken. This years race honoree is Serena Brenner and in memory of longtime volunteer, Betty Colkin. Serena suffered extensive brain damage at birth, and specialists said she wouldn't live past 4 years old.  Serena is now 32 years old and has three younger siblings. She is a miracle and shines her light wherever we go to encourage others to think differently and be more inclusive of people.  Together we support many non for profit charities that care for others and share our beliefs of including all people.  We love going to concerts, the beach, Disney, going on the Walkway over the Hudson and church.  Serena is also

On Saturday, April 18th, Omega Phi Alpha is hosting our third annual 5K event (O-5-K) on and around the BU brain to raise money and support for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. O-5-K will start at the front of University Union at 11 AM. This year's theme is "Love Grows Where OPhiA Goes!” This theme represents individuals and our never-ending growth as people, especially in areas of mental health. Wear anything floral themed or brightly colored for the beginning of Spring! The first three male and female runners will receive a prize! Free water and snacks will be provided to all participants. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. EARTH DAY HALF MARATHON, 5K & Relay       April 18, 2026 The Earth Day Half Marathon, Relay & 5K will be celebrating it's 12th Anniversary in 2026.  This event has quickly become one of CNY’s most looked forward to springtime races! Along with some of the best swag out there, all participants get a tree to plant! Runners love the connection to the countryside setting. As you run along the low-traffic country roads, you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of rolling farmland, pastures with cows and horses and the lookout at Beaver Lake. The race start/finish and post-race fest are at the Emmi Farm’s Greenhouse with lots of parking, conveniently nearby- within walking distance. The half marathon is mostly a loop course on low-traffic, country roads with many friendly neighbors that come out to cheer you on! The course is described as having rolling hills with a few good ones between Mile 8/9. The Half Marathon Relay is a 2 person relay with each member of the team running 6.55

This is a perfect beginner race that includes a pool swim with 50 meter lanes.It is early in the season and a great way to get involved in the sport as well as a good warm up race for veterans POOL SWIM: 400 meters in the newly built Freedom PoolBIKE: 6 miles on closed roadsRUN: 2 miles on a beautiful path through the parkStart Time: 8:10am Mini Mighty Man Youth Triathlon POOL SWIM: 100 or 200 Meters. Athletes will start individually, 5 seconds apart. Athlete will be swimming lengths of 50 meters each. Athlete will “snake” their way through two lanes. Each lane will be going in only one direction. BIKE- 2 Miles: (1) 2 Mile loop. The bike course is a park road that will be closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the event. Bikes allowed: road bike, time trial, mountain bike or hybrid.
