Washington Police Explorers Post 2438 5k Run

Washington, MO
The Washington Police Department explorer post will be hosting their inaugural 5k run.  The money raised will be used to help send the explorers to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is a week long event held in the St. Louis area.  The academy costs the post roughly $450 per kid per year.  A majority of this is paid for by the post to allow for all explorers to attend that want to attend, regardless of financial ability. We are hoping to send 6-7 explorers this year. This is a program that is designed for youth aged 14-20 who want to learn about law enforcement.  Exploring is covered under the Boy Scouts of America Learning for Life umbrella. This run is being held the day before National Police Week begins. A finisher medal and T-shirt will be included in the registration fee.  Registrations after April 26 will not get a  tshirt Awards will be given to top 3 males and top 3 females.   The run is being chip timed by Affordable Race Timing! Going the Distance for Brain Injury Memorial Day Run
