The 11th Annual ChadTough Defeat DIPG Superhero Sprint & 6K, presented by Headfirst, is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the fight against childhood brain tumors. This year's event is entirely virtual to allow all of our supporters the flexibility to participate whether you are near or far. Our virtual participants may sign up to walk, run, or do the activity of your choice, on your own, anytime in May 2026.  Some families may gather supporters together to walk or run in their community. Please seek information from your team captain or check the section below for a list of local gatherings as they become available.

This year's annual Color Run will again be dedicated to the beloved Mrs. Kathy Manns to honor and remember the tremendous impact she had on MBS and our school community. Mrs. Manns was a champion of Catholic education. She dedicated her career and her retirement to serving students, she made a lasting impact on the lives of many of our MBS families in her time as MBS Principal, and she added a splash of color in every facet of her life. She was also instrumental in promoting MBS at Play with the goal of raising the funds needed for a new playground for the MBS students! Thanks to her efforts and those of many others, we have completed the playground. Let's join together to celebrate the wonderful life and legacy of Mrs. Manns for the happiest, most colorful run, and raise money for a new digital sign at our front entrance. Welcome to the registration page for the Wood Acres JogFest! JogFest is a rain or shine event!  Please come out to support Wood Acres Elementary with your friends and neighbors. Participants can choose the 5K Race, One Mile Race or 1/4 Mile Fun Run.  Please check out the map for the official 5K course, which starts and finishes at the Wood Acres Local Park (5850 Wynnwood Road) and goes through the Wood Acres neighborhood of Bethesda, MD, through rolling hills on quiet neighborhood streets. The 5K starts promptly at 8:00 AM; the One Mile starts at 8:05 AM and the 1/4 Mile Fun Run starts at 8:30 AM.  Awards to follow at the park around 9:15 AM.

Kids on the Run and the Kids Marathon are non-competitive running events for children and young people age 17 and younger.  Participants can choose from these four distances based on their age and ability: The event will feature 100m Toddler Trot, Half-Mile, One-Mile and 2K Kids Marathon events.  All events take place on the paved trails of Bohrer Park in the City of Gaithersburg. Participants do not run on roads. There is a ‘rabbit’ runner who will lead the participants in each event. There is also a ‘sweeper’ who follows behind for each event insuring everyone makes it back to the finish line. There are multiple opportunities to see and cheer for the youth runners! Great Mills High School MiniTHON is proud to host our second 5K run/walk! WHAT IS GIRLS ON THE RUN? Girls on the Run (GOTR) offers programming designed for all girls to build confidence, increase their level of physical activity, and learn essential life skills. Our research-based curriculum creatively combines movement with confidence-building lessons and activities, providing an after-school program for 3rd through 8th grade girls. With programming that inspires girls of all backgrounds and abilities to recognize their individual strengths, participants build connection and community in a welcoming team setting. They explore topics including emotions, expressing empathy, and standing up for themself and others all while being in a safe and judge-free space with their peers. Their season culminates with a 5K celebration, where girls experience confidence and unstoppable strength as they cross the finish line. The Salisbury Zoo's annual Zoo Stampede 5K, sponsored by Vernon Powell Shoes, is set for Saturday, May 2nd, at 9 a.m. The race kicks off from the Salisbury Zoo's East Gate (across from the Elks Golf Club). The race will go through the Zoo and along the Salisbury City Park's greenway.  The course is primarily along a crushed-stone path. Welcome to Chesapeake Cycling Club's Tri-County Classic spring cycling event, which will take you on a tour of Talbot, Queen Anne's, and Caroline Counties, in the heart of Maryland's Eastern Shore, considered one of the top cycling destinations in America, with “a crazy quilt of fields, small towns, coves, and sinuous tributary rivers. Check-in Details: So we will have check-in from 6:30 am to 10 am. We have each group with a suggested start time: 7:00 am for the Century route, 7:30 am for the Metric Century route, and 8:00 am for the 34.8-mile route. This is so you can ride with the group on your route, based on rest stop times. It is a check-in with a show-up-and-go, so no big line-up, but no check-ins after 10 am. You need to keep in mind that the Oxford ferry and Scottish Highland Creamery open at 8:30 am, which is 50 miles out for the Century and Century Metric groups, and 14 miles for the 34-mile group. The event honors the life of Cindy Greene Horsmon, a beloved retired educator and community member who passed away in 2025 at age 59 following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Cindy Horsmon dedicated 30 years to Calvert County Public Schools and was deeply loved by students, colleagues and the community. The First Time Marathon (FTM) Program is a structured, coached, group-oriented program for people training to run their first marathon (26.2 miles).  Although our name includes the words “First Time”, our program is also applicable to people who are training for their second, third, fourth, or even fortieth (or more) marathons. Welcome to the 10th annual Phelps Luck 5K and Fun Run sponsored by the Phelps Luck PTA! Through advocacy, events and fundraising, the PTA strives to provide the support our students, families and staff need to make our PLES community the best it can be for our children to learn and grow. This year’s race will be held at Long Reach High School. 5K participants will run on the Long Reach High School cross country course (combination of grass and pavement). Fun Run participants will challenge themselves to complete as many laps as they can in 20 minutes. The Fun Run race will be run on grass. All race participants will receive a T-shirt.  T-shirts have been upgraded for 2026 to a soft tri-blend fabric!  Packet Pick-Up will be at Road Runner Sports Columbia (6630-C Marie Curie Dr, Elkridge, MD 21075) from 5pm to 7:30pm on Friday, May 8th. A 5k run/walk around the city of Salisbury's  beautiful park and zoo. Proceeds from the race will fund the Paramedic Foundation of Salisbury which will be purchasing several AED's to place around the county, funding educational scholarships for paramedic training, and many other worthwhile community projects for the residents of Salisbury and Wicomico County.

This event will be held at the Bowman Business Park in Williamsport, MD…..just minutes from PA, 20 minutes from Martinsburg, WV and Frederick, MD and 90 minutes from Baltimore and DC. Deer Dash 5K is a chip-timed 5K race through the beautiful Summerfield neighborhood of Lake Linganore starting and finishing at Deer Crossing Elementary school. The Fun Run is a non-timed event that takes place on the recess grounds of Deer Crossing Elementary, behind the school. Produced by the Deer Crossing Elementary PTA, this event is an annual event loved by all that brings our community together around healthy habits and movement and raises money for school improvements and programs that support the staff and children at DCES. The Miles for Melanoma 5K is more than just a race — it’s an opportunity for us to show support for an amazing father, husband, coach, and person: Stephen Champlin.
