Join the Humane Society of Elkhart County (HSEC) at Ox Bow Park in Goshen, IN for a timed trail run/walk in a pleasant natural environment. Runners, walkers, and their dogs will be gathering to enjoy time together, activities, great music, and sharing with others. Join us for our annual Race for Roofs, a run/walk event to support our mission of offering affordable housing and support in Indianapolis. This annual race has both a 4K and an 8K option through the scenic Brookside Park on the near Eastside of Indianapolis. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m.  Since its inception, our fundraising efforts have facilitated stable housing for numerous individuals, fostering their stability and well-being. The 4th Annual Prairie Dash 5k Fun Run is Saturday, May 16 at beautiful Conner Prairie in Fishers, IN! Runners and walkers representing both the Lawrence Township School Foundation and the Hamilton Southeastern Education Foundation will participate! Next to the Indiana Statehouse, firefighters and police officers from across the state who gave their lives in the line of duty are memorialized. Join fellow EMS professionals to create an addition to this memorial for emergency medical technicians and paramedics who lost their lives serving our communities. Help us continue to raise funds for this project and kick-off National EMS Week by joining us for the eighth annual Run With Shears on May 16, 2026. We are one of the only EMS 5k races in the United States and annually host hundreds of runners, walkers, and EMS professionals from across the Midwest. Join us for the Inaugural Neighbors on the Move, Neighborhood Health Center 5K and Fun Run. The Faith Over Fear 5k is in Memory of Karsen Elyse Cook. She was 23 years old and passed away from colon cancer in September 2020. All of the proceeds from this 5k will benefit the Karsen E Cook Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to local High School Seniors who have been affected by cancer in some way in their lives. This fun and flowing circuit of about 10 miles first became a series stop in 2001 and has been a favorite course ever since. ​This race is part of the annual Northern Indiana Fat Northern Indiana Fat & Skinny Tire Festival, which includes road bike events, kids events, demos, entertainment, seminars, and much more. Involvement from the community is second to none at Winona Lake, and there are plenty of non-cycling activities for families and friends to see and do.  ​Camping: Camping is available for free at the race site "Donation to KCV Cycling encouraged", Tent & RV "Ground permitting". Race through beautiful Dillsboro and support the Homecoming Festival.  The race is a fairly flat course on the streets and through the park in Dillsboro.  There is one hill at the end of the race.  All money raised from the race go back to the Dillsboro Civic Club for the events they sponsor for the community through out the year. Designed for walkers, joggers, runners, families, and first-timers alike, the Parks & Petals 5K is all about enjoying the journey. Participants are encouraged to take their time, appreciate the scenery, and experience the course at a comfortable pace. This course includes a beautiful route, fresh air, and the perfect excuse to “stop and smell the peonies.” The event takes place the same weekend as the Indiana Peony Festival, making it the perfect opportunity to enjoy the blooming peonies throughout the area and take part in the many festivities happening around town. The race starts and ends at Borden High School. It is a flat, fast course that takes you on the new Monon Walking Trail to the Borden Community Park and back. The top male and female finisher will receive $100, 2nd overall male and female $50, & 3rd place overall finisher $25.
