The Fillmore 5K is a 3.1 mile race at Fillmore Golf Course. The course will be the Saturday following the High School Cross Country meet and held on the same course.  This is a unique and challenging course, for locals some may have ran this course during high school cross country. Fall in Dubuque County is a great time for running and enjoying the outdoors. This is a fundraiser for Dubuque County Conservation with all entry fees going as a donation to Dubuque County Conservation towards conservation and trail stewardship. The event will also be hosted by volunteers and friends of Dubuque County Conservation. Race will be chip timed by Kauder Racing. There will be 1 Water Station at approx. The 19th Annual 5K walk/run presented by Buena Vista Regional Medical Center begins and ends at the hospital and runs along a portion of Storm Lake's beautiful lake. Proceeds support those in treatment for cancer at BVRMC. Donations are welcome and can be made through the event website at time of registration.  No dogs, in-line skates, skateboards, scooters or bikes on course. No registration necessary for children in strollers.

Prostate Cancer Awareness of Central Iowa is proud to present its fourth run/walk event. 100% of all proceeds stay right here in Iowa to help Iowans affected by prostate cancer. Since our inaugural event, we have donated back nearly $270,000 to the Iowa prostate cancer community. Pete's Legacy Main Street Mile is a 1 Mile race from the intersection of Main & Harlan to the Mt Pleasant Square on Main Street.  Registration is located on the East side of the Mt Pleasant Square, near the corner of Main & Monroe starting at 8:30am on 9/26/26.

Race Overview  Enjoy the beautiful Iowa River Greenbelt with this 13.1 mile paved loop beginning in Eldora, taking you along the River's Edge Trail to Steamboat Rock, and coming back to Eldora through the beautiful Pine Lake State Park. The race will start and end at Memorial Park on the east side of Eldora located near the Welcome Center. We will be donating the proceeds from the run to the continued progress on the River’s Edge Trail. Be greeted by our small town charm along the route and at the start and finish line. Your fans will have numerous opportunities to cheer you on along the way, while you will be able to enjoy some beautiful views as well. The Wild Boar Challenge is an off road obstacle course designed to push participants through a series of challenges that will test both their speed and agility as they navigate through the course. This is THE LOCAL RACE, that is run by a local organization that will not only raise funds that stay in Iowa, but will also let the participants contribute to design of multiple obstacles. Contributors Breakfast Club is excited to host a fun and challenging event that attracts a wide range of participants from around the midwest.

Join us for this fun race the morning of our 77th Annual Pancake Day celebration. The course begins on the North side of the Centerville square and passes by several town landmarks. The course comes full circle and ends on the North side of the square. You will find yourself just a few steps away from free pancakes and activities for all ages! 1st Place Runner (overall) in the 10k for both men & women will receive $150 in Chamber Bucks and the 1st Place Runner (overall) in the 5k for both men & women will receive $75 in Chamber Bucks.

We spend the morning honoring and remembering service members who have been killed or who have died as a result of a service connected illness.    A shirt, medal and brunch are included in the registration fee.

The Great River Road Road Race (GRRRR) is again at Pikes Peak State Park this year. This year, both the 5 and 10K races are USATF-certified and sanctioned. The 5K is certification # IA 24009MF, and the 10K is certification # IA 24008-M. The chip-timed race will follow the traditional route starting in the park. From the parking lot, runners will follow Pikes Peak Road west to the Great River Road, turn south, and follow the Great River Road out to either the 5 or 10K  mark and return on the same route. It will be a fun and fast run with slightly rolling hills. After the race, there will be an awards presentation and a complimentary untraditional pancake breakfast. We hope you can join us!

Our annual Half Marathon & 10k races are a fundraiser for the Thrive church Mission Team. Between our four races we anticipate 650 signups. Three start lines, one finish line, all three races start at 8:30am. We offer chip timing, super soft ring spun shirts, custom die cast medals to all, trophies to top finishers, plus age division awards. The half marathon and 10k are a point-to-point races and we provide the bus transportation. We added a Greubel Memorial 5k in 2017 to fundraise for three kids in our church and community who tragically lost their parents. Funds from the 5k will go towards college savings plans. The Scott Sterrett Memorial Race Weekend returns on Saturday, November 7th, 2026. We are continuing the traditions you love: 5K, 10K, scenic Half Marathon, Hero Bibs, and incredible race swag! Scott Sterrett was a reserve officer for the City of Cedar Falls beginning in May of 2005. Scott was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.  He was an avid runner participating in 23 marathons total, the Boston Marathon twice, and the Chicago and Dallas Marathons multiple times.  In addition to his passion for running, Scott had a passion for being a reserve officer with the Cedar Falls Police Department and serving his community. In 2018, Scott passed away after a fight with pancreatic cancer. This event is dedicated to Scott. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be put into a scholarship for local seniors who plan to pursue a career as a first responder. Our goal for this event is to continue to build a strong relationship between the community and those that serve us every day.

Miles in the Maize is a unique running experience for people of all ages and abilities! With a 5k and Maize Mile, this event takes competitors through a unique off-road course weaving around a corn maze, pumpkin patch, and other beautiful fall Iowa scenery!  The Maize Mile will kick off the festivities at 9:30am, and the 5K will follow at 10:00am! Costume Awards will be voted on and awarded, along with Maize Mile Awards at 9:50am - prior to the start of the 5K!  There will be a brief post-race awards ceremony at the conclusion of the 5k for overall & age group winners.  This year we are excited to announce our partnership with the Corridor/Eastern Iowa Let Me Run and Girls on the Run organizations! Thanksgiving Day is all about family, food, fun, football... and 5Ks! Come out to City Park for the first Hawkeye Turkey Trot, the only Thanksgiving Day 5K in Iowa City! Start your Thanksgiving off right with a fun 5K for the whole family before you indulge in a delicious Turkey Day meal!  The Herky Turkey Tot Trot race will begin after the conclusion of the 5K around the Iowa River Corridor Trail near Shelter #6 at City Park! A portion of proceeds from the race will be given to the Food Bank of Iowa. 2025 Results  2025 Photos This hidden gem takes place the first weekend in December following the single-track dirt trail of the Sycamore Trail along the Des Moines River. Unpredictable winter weather in Iowa has brought rain, snow, and negative temps but has also brought picturesque 50-degree days and some of the fastest dirt trails in the state. This race caters to veteran and new trail runners alike. With rolling single track, vast views of the Des Moines River and ever present wildlife, you don't want to miss your chance at a Des Moines tradition of capping off the racing season. Register early as entries are capped at 300 participants.

Get in the holiday spirit with the most festive 5K of all! Winding through the beautiful pine tree acreage of Walnut Ridge Tree Farm, you'll be filled with the Christmas spirit as you embark on a 5K journey through glimmering lights and the beauty of the season. Participant's families and friends can come spectate while enjoying the fun atmosphere, enjoying fresh hot cocoa and the merriment of the Christmas season.  The 1K race is primarily geared towards children and walkers who may prefer a shorter distance than the 5K. Both races will begin together, and the 1K participants will split off and turn left around a pine tree field while the 5K participants continue straight.  Both races will begin at 4:00pm in two waves about 1 minute apart, with the Pine K splitting off to the western pine grove quickly after the start while the 5K will continue straight to the northern pine groves.
