The 2026 Annual Meeting will be held in Fayetteville, WV. We will meet at Fayetteville Town Park for a group run. Then go the Ascend WV Cooperative Work Building for the meeting and lunch. This is a WVMTR Club Event that has no registration fee, but participants must register so there is an e-signed waiver and emergency information available. Members and non-members are welcome! Schedule: 9:00 am: Doing what a running club does best! Guided runs of various distances are planned.                                                            12:00 pm: Lunch. The Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. is hosting its 4th annual 5 alarm 5k. This race will raise money for Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. in its efforts to purchase and maintain safe equipment for the community it serves. Race starts at 8 am and registration is 6:30 am at the Stonewood Vol. Fire Dept. The first 100 entries will receive an event themed challenge coin.

Come join us for the Inaugural Ohio River Festival 5k! The date is August 1, 2026. Registration starts at 8:00am with the race beginning at 9:00am. The registration fee is $30. MHS Foundation will host a 5K Run/Walk.  This year’s event is on Saturday, August 8, 2026.  Registration is 8:30 - 9:30 AM, and the race starts at 10:00 AM, beginning and ending on the rail trail at the Morgantown Marriott Hotel.  All proceeds from the race benefit academics at Morgantown High School.  Join us!  Part of the 2026 NCWV Road Race Series Free T-Shirt if registered by July 31! The annual Marland Heights Classic takes place on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at Marland Heights Park. A 5K Run, 2-Mile Walk and Kids Fun Run is available for participants. Registration for all events includes a t-shirt. Race day registration and pick-up begin at 5:30pm. The Kids Fun Run will begin at approximately 6:30pm.  Different age categories will run in separate races. The 5K Run & 2-Mile Walk begin at 7:00pm. HALF MARATHON:The Parkersburg News and Sentinel Half Marathon begins at 8:00 a.m. (Wheelchair division 7:50 a.m.) in downtown Parkersburg and is the RRCA WV State Championship. The rolling course will take you out of the city and into the scenic surroundings of West Virginia before looping back into the commercial area. You will finish the race to the cheers of thousands of spectators lined up on Market Street prior to the Parkersburg Homecoming Festival Parade.   All participants in the Half Marathon will get a tech shirt, pre-race pasta dinner, finishers medal, & post-race pizza luncheon.   TWO MILE RACE:Starting line is at Third and Juliana streets at the Towne Square Parking Garage and the finish line is at Sixth and Market streets. Join us for the 6th Annual Moonlight on the Falls Marathon on August 29-30, 2026, at beautiful Blackwater Falls State Park in Tucker County, West Virginia. Beat the summer heat run with us under the stars and enjoy the perfect running temperatures of our cool late summer mountain nights.     This race will be a nighttime race featuring a Marathon, Half Marathon, Distance Challenge (Ultra Marathon), Relay, and Quarter Marathon. It will be an approximately 6.55-mile (Quarter Marathon) looped course beginning and ending at Pendleton Point in Blackwater Falls State Park. The Distance Challenge will begin at 10 PM and go until 7:45 AM with options to run Solo, 2 Person Relay, 4 Person Relay, and 6 Person Relay. America's only 15 mile race is a scenic but challenging course, starting at our majestic State Capitol, taking you through downtown, rolling through our beautiful hillside neighborhoods, and along Charleston's riverfront.

The Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon will take place on the Blackwater Canyon railroad grade and Allegheny Highlands Trail running from Thomas, WV to Mill Race Park in Parsons, WV. Please join us for this epic event in support of the Highlands Trail Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to trail development in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia.  The Blackwater Canyon Half Marathon is a point-to-point race. The trail is made of pavement, dirt, and crushed stone. The race course will descend about 1400'. The 9:00 am race start is located on the rail trail below First/Front Street in Thomas, WV.  The race finish is in Parsons, WV. We are so pleased to announce the 11th Annual Rise N Shine 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 12th at 9:00 AM in Grand Vue Park!!  You won't wanna miss this race!!! The 2026 FBI Jerry Dove Memorial 5K is run in honor of the late Special Agent, Jerry Dove, who was killed in the line of duty in Miami, Florida, on April 11, 1986.   Jerry was a native West Virginian, and prior to his FBI career, Jerry was attached to the West Virginia State Police as an attorney advisor.  The race is dedicated to the memory of SA Jerry Dove and all law enforcement, firefighters, military personnel, and others who were killed while serving in the line of duty.  The race is sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy Alumni Association.   Final details of the race will be official at opening day of registration.  Changes may be made prior to opening day.

Half Marathon and 5K trail races located in Mountwood Park - 15 miles east of Parkersburg, WV on U.S. Route 50.  Take the Volcano Road exit and the main parking lot is about one half mile by the boat ramp.  The half marathon has a 4 hour time limit - any participant over 2 hours at the halfway point will be routed to the finish.  T-shirts guaranteed if registered by September 6.  Runners must be at least 15 years old to participate in the half marathon.  Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female in all races.  One age group award in all 3 races for the following age groups: Under 15 (5K only), 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

A huge shoutout to Jeff and Jeremy from The Ultra Running Guys. They organized 'The Final Countdown' in NC for 4 years. I reached out to them and they have allowed us to "steal" their idea! Bringing this fun and challenging race to WV!!!!   You are invited to this unique race experience that has something for everyone. From new runners to experienced ultra runners, the start will be a cinch. But the longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you. And all we ask is that you demand the most of yourself, holding off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.   The course is a 1.33 mile loop located on the property of Amani Brewery. Their grass path is taken care of and mowed all year round. It is a smooth, fast trail, with a small hill or two. The “Runnin’ with the Dogs” Bulldog Band 5k Race will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Martinsburg High School!  The course will begin on the track at Martinsburg High School’s Cobourn Field. Runners will continue down Bulldog Blvd, crossing Queen Street to the “Frog Hollow Trail.” Runners will traverse roughly 2.5 miles on the trail in and out and back. Runners will finish their 3.10 mile journey on the same track turf where they started. The race will kick off at 9:00AM! Miles for Migraine will host its 5th annual 2-mile Walk, 5K Run and Relax West Virginia Event at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park. This event is a fundraiser for Migraine & Headache Awareness, Treatment & Research. The 27th Auggie's 5K Run & Walk benefits the Ohio County Animal Shelter. Runners and walkers start at Warwood Middle School and run/walk on Wheeling's Heritage Trail adjacent to the Ohio River, with runners going north, and walkers going south. Both events finish on Viking Drive.

The Kanawha State Forest Half Marathon and 7K offer runners a challenging and scenic experience deep within one of West Virginia’s most iconic natural areas. The Marshall University Marathon will be held Sunday November 1st, 2026. There is a certified 26.2 mile marathon as well as half-marathon and a 3.25 Mile Run/Walk. The highlight is carrying a football down the field to the goal line finish!!

Kick off your Thanksgiving morning with a beloved Parkersburg tradition! Since 1979, the Parkersburg Turkey Trot has brought families, friends, and runners together for a scenic run or walk through City Park. What began under Dr. Gary Ogilvie’s direction and carried on by Joe Corra continues today as a festive blend of friendly competition and family fun. The first male and female finishers each take home a LARGE fresh turkey and a unique Turkey Trot hoodie, and all registered participants are entered into drawings for 50+ door prizes with winners posted after the race.
