We have partnered with the coolest people ever, founders of the Hippo Social Club and Patriot Sports & Fitness to bring to you the Hippo Trail Fest! They are welcoming us into their fitness and well-being facility, which happens to sit on the edge of their beautiful, wooded, rolling trail system in their backyard. You can expect a lot of extra fun surrounding this trail party! The Hippo Social Club will have their amenities open to all racers and spectators, including mobility and stretching resources, cold plunge pools, sauna, games, and some great pre- and post-race food, drinks, and fun to enjoy! In March 2026, Run For the Youth of Washington County will be hosting the 48th Annual Blue Bell Fun Run. This event is fun for people of all ages. We offer individual events in the Kids' 1-Mile Run for those 10 and under, a 5K walk or run, a 10K run, and a 1/2 marathon for those desiring a greater challenge. Runners will work their way through the beautiful hills of Brenham surrounded by bluebonnets and other wildflowers.  Every runner gets all the Blue Bell ice cream that he/she can eat at the race. Each runner will also receive a participant t-shirt and participant medal. Half marathon participants will receive an additional 13.1 t-shirt and a 13.1 medal. To show our appreciation of Waco and all the great places it offers us to run, the Waco Striders Run Club has partnered with the City of Waco and Keep Waco Beautiful, Inc. and adopted the Redwood Shelter through the Keep Waco Beautiful, Inc.'s Adopt-A-Park Program. As part of our participation, the Waco Striders Run Club hosts at least one event per quarter to pick up trash around the Redwood Shelter in Cameron Park. We meet at the Redwood Shelter Pavilion on either Wednesday night or Saturday morning following our scheduled group runs for those days. Cleanup usually lasts about 30-40mins or however long it takes to clean up the park. Also, food and drink is provided for those that volunteer.
