The Sgt. Bret D. Isenhower Memorial 5K is an annual event held in Seminole, Oklahoma, to honor the memory of Sergeant Bret D. Isenhower, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on September 9, 2011. The event features a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run, with all proceeds supporting the Sgt. Bret D. Isenhower Memorial Scholarship established at East Central University. 2026 Walk for Wellness and 5k Fun Run Join us for a Walk for Wellness and 5K Fun Run through Rt. 66 Park at Lake Overholser. Registered runners will receive a T-shirt and medal, and registered walkers will receive a T-shirt. These events are open to patients and non-patients, with the walk and health fair at no cost and the 5K Fun Run includes a small fee. Everyone will have the opportunity to receive information from community partners in the Oklahoma City metro and participate in a health fair and cultural activities. One of our event objectives is to educate our participants on developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. “Rooster Days” – A Local Tradition In the Spring of 1931, there was a thriving poultry industry on the farms and acreage surrounding Broken Arrow.  Secretary-Manager of the chamber at that time, Leo S. Wortman, came up with the idea of establishing a special day for farmers to bring to market their excess roosters.  On that first Rooster Day, about 5,000 pounds of roosters, more than two tons, were sold here. There were prizes for the best rooster, the biggest, noisiest, etc.  A highlight of the day was a sound system, which played music noisily all day. People gathered to visit and to enjoy each other’s company. Even though the rooster has just about disappeared, we still celebrate annually in what has come to be the oldest festival in Oklahoma known as Rooster Days. The Fort Gibson American Legion and Trail of Honor Flags will host the 6th Annual Trail of Honor 5k & Fun Run on May 23rd in Fort Gibson.  Trail of Honor Flags incorporated was founded in 2019 to continue and expand the efforts of American Legion volunteers who have put temporary flags from HWY 62 to the National Memorial Cemetery.  The goal is Trail of Honor, and this event, is to make those flags permanent, which will consist of 300 flag poles each with a 5x8 American Flag.  Runners will have a option of carrying a flag throughout the race.  When registering, you will be asked about this, so please respond with a yes if you would like to carry a flag.  By participating in this event you will help this cause and will honor our current and past service members as you run through the flags on Memorial Day weekend.  This event has grown by approximately 25 runners each year and our goal is to get to 500, so thank you for coming back or considering this run for the 1st time.    Please

Oklahoma Steps Against Skin Cancer is a 5K Run or Walk and 1 mile Fun Run and Walk supporting those who have or have had skin cancer.  Funds from the event will be donated to The Skin Cancer Foundation. The race will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 on the Eagle Trail on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University.  The one mile walk starts at 9 am and the 5K starts at 9:30 am. Join us for Bigfoot's Backyard Bash! Runners will get a shirt and finisher medal. This is a low key, fun vibe event. Runners can start anytime between 8am and noon. You can run 1 five mile loop or multiple. There will be no timing and no top awards. We will have aid station snacks at the loop start/finish area.  We loved the vibe of GTR this year and decided we needed a summer version.  This event is limited to 250 runners.  The shirt cutoff is June 1.

DOGSPEED 2: This Time With More Bark! Join us for **DOGSPEED**, a 12-hour, come-and-go community run (or walk!) hosted by **Kaizen Running Club of Tahlequah**. On **June 20, 2026, from 7 AM to 7 PM**, we’ll be circling a scenic 1-mile loop that starts and finishes on the front lawn of the **Northeastern State University Fitness Center**—all with one goal: **to fill a truck with pet food and supplies** for the **Humane Society of Cherokee County**. Whether you're running miles or just strolling with your pup, every lap counts. Not a runner? No problem. We’ll have games, prizes, snacks for you and your pet, drinks, and plenty of shade and treats for your four-legged friends. AND, a 16ft inflatable bouncy water slide! Plus, you’ll get a chance to meet some adoptable pets from the Humane Society. THIS EVENT WILL COST YOU $5 AND A SACK OF DOG FOOD! Welcome to the Liberty Sprint 5K kicking off Edmond's LibertyFest, the largest 4th of July celebration in Oklahoma! Join us at Mitch Park on Saturday June 26th at 8:00 am for a 5K Run/Walk or a 1 Mile Fun Run! The event is great for the whole family from strollers to grandparents, and dog friendly for well-socialized pups on a leash. We do ask that any participants with dogs be prepared with a "pick up" bag to attend to any unscheduled potty breaks on the course.
